Hello Mr Treasure. Arne from Norway here. Thank you for a great simple clip. I have a Fisher F 5 and a Garrett 250. Is very cold here in Norway this day,so nice to welcome the spring. But the winter is very long. Thank you for sharing my friend. God bless you and take care. By the way.. congrats whit the gold...Spring..come fast 😂
I have the 540 vanquish. I want to get the 8inch coil for it but I got the 6 inch for my equinox 600 and I'm having a blast with it at the moment. I will say I've dug some deep targets with my 540 with the 12 inch coil. It's a really awesome detector. The 440 is awesome as well!!! Great video bro!!😎👍
6 inch equinox coil is killer! Really like using it as well wanna get back out there with it soon. I can believe it about the 540, if the 440 can go pretty deep I bet the 540 with bigger coil is awesome depth.
I just received my vanquish 440. These videos are a great help when i am learning how to use this great detector. There was only an assembly pamphlet in the box- no in depth users manual. Thanks for the great tips i cant wait to get out and detect!! Cheers
Hey man, just bought a 440 and trying to get my head round those numbers, so this was super helpful. Can you do a video on what some of the other numbers mean? Cheers. And once again - brilliant video! 👍
With the tiny gold pendant, in Relic mode, by default, the 3 first discrimination notches are set to reject. I wonder since the thing read about 3 on the surface (in Jewelry mode, which has only 2 disc notch segments turned off and thus includes ID 3), maybe that's the reason the Vanquish didn't discriminate the target both on the surface and buried in Relic mode? I was thinking that in Relic mode, which has the longest recovery time, such a small target would be detected, using correspondingly slow coil swings, given the stronger signal at depth owing to slower recovery time in Relic mode if it wasn't notched out that high by default?
Vermont Derek had that same thing happen with a small gold piece when he was comparing his Vanquish to his Nox. It didn't even see the gold in relic mode but had a nice strong signal in jewelry mode.
I own the same vanquish 540 I have found at least $298 in quarters dimes and nickels and pennies a 10 karat gold ring at a very old abandoned baseball field lots of old jewelry and I'm still hunting to look for gold bars in gold coins it's the best metal detector so besides the golden mask detector
Minelab is so secretive about the differences between the search modes. They only tease slight differences in recovery speed. Maybe they have threshold differences that won’t let that small of a target through in relic mode.
I have to hide my laptop when I drink whiskey. One night I ordered two guitars, two microphones, a PA system, sound mixer, effects box to play Jimi Hendrix on acoustic guitar with backup drums built in, and a portable power supply so I could do concerts in the forest. I`m thinking of using the speakers and the power supply to play Bigfoot sounds in the woods to scare my neighbors.
An iron ring will give you 15 but so will a silver v thin hammered penny. Consider just two things: One is the volume of metal and two is the circularity in shape. The third is the duration of the tone in pinpoint it gives an idea about size. There are caveats but in general you'll get close to your prediction that way.
I like the way you break it down! I agree with you, we can learn a lot about a metal detector by just using it and comparing differences. Appreciate you tuning in, thanks for the tips!
@@TreasureOutdoors I get about 50% predictability/probability using these factors on coins. More volume of metal in the coin 'tends' to raise the number from its prescribed conductivity number and vice versa. Close to the surface finds are usually less interesting historically so maybe a fourth consideration. But then I'm hunting in inland areas where if the soil is not disturbed then the deeper finds become more interesting.
hello my friend your video is very instructive for me. I am a beginner and I have done some output detection, I had some nice surprises, but I feel like I missed several targets. with your video, I will be able to improve my metal hunting trophies. THANK YOU for your good work.
you answered what I was curious about ... how small a piece of gold it would pick up on ... ( saw the surface find of it ). yeah I know it is not a gpz but it is impressive enough I also went out and bought a Vanquish 440. 540 is nice but I do not think I need wireless or a backlight. I am guessing the 540 comes with an app maybe too, I dunno but I have saw some that do ... shows where you been what finds, a log ( be cool ) thanx for the vids bud ... peace
I agree with you, the vanquish is a strong machine for the price. I also went with the 440 thinking I didn't need the extra features of the 540, I think I actually prefer the slightly smaller coil on the 440 also it seems to go pretty deep and good for target separation. Appreciate you stopping by. ✌
@@TreasureOutdoors cheers!!! I appreciate people like you posting information. I am new, so new that I need to still hit the store to buy some accessories and my machine has not yet had the batteries put in... Helps a lot and so thank you very much
Hey Robert, just went outside and tested it quick for you. It seemed to ring about the same 3-4 with maybe a slight iron grunt in there. Sincerely appreciate you stopping by and dropping a comment, feel free to leave any other questions or tests you'd like to see in the future and I will try my best to get those answered for you! With lithium batteries you can recharge them any time without a memory effect. NiMH batteries need to be completely drained before being recharged fully or they`ll be damaged. It`s best to never fully drain your lithium batteries though, especially if you leave them that way without immediately recharging, because that can damage them, and so can storing them fully charged or exposure to heat. To store them drain them down some and never leave them in a hot car. And if you can avoid it don`t fully charge them over and over either, although this is hard to accomplish. If you cycle lithium ion batteries between 20% and 80% you can double or triple their life.
