      It's funny you say that about the Nox, I also have the 540 and have out swung people in the exact area that all have nox 800s. I'm finding the gold while they find the silver. No brainer there.

      I've wanted to test them side by side to see what you are actually losing with the vanquish... like you said sometimes I question the vanquish ability compared to the nox the thing surprises me every time I test it, also I have the smaller coil compared to the 540. The whole vanquish series is a killer for the prices thats for sure.

    Hey Treasure Outdoors guy! I have a vanquish 440. My first machine and I bought it 2 weeks ago. I'm watching your videos so I can get to know the tones and numbers. Youre educational! Thanks for the videos brother! Theyre very helpful. Ive been digging the same tones as you but have yet to find anything.... "cool".

    Every target you dug I could pretty much guess what it was lol. I have a 340 and 440. I got the 340 used it for two weeks and upgraded to the 440. Now I'm saving my finds to buy myself a nox. But I'll be happy to swing the vanquish for another year, I don't need to upgrade since the vanquish is a mid lvl machine imo but we all want the nox 😂

    i dont know why but i really enjoyed this video... it was like we were hanging out with you and i love that sugar sand soil.. looks so easy to dig stuff up. Weather looks great too. I had to sell my Vanquish. It had the least interest of all the detectors i owned so i took the proceeds and investing it towards the MultiFreq Nokta makro...

      You know I really appreciate that man! Today we had bright blue skies but pouring rain... FL can be strange at times! I think with you owning the nox that was probably your best bet getting rid of the 540, Nokta MF top of my list for sure... don't want to get caught in the hype because I think it took them a couple updates for the simplex to get it right but I definitely want one when it releases, I'm very interested but I think so are many others. Ideally I will keep the nox to compare the two side by side, I am pretty sure nokta claims superior depth along with many other things so that will be interesting!

    I have a 440 I just got it I run it on coin with everything notched from 17 down I call it cherry pick mode unless I'm somewhere either with sand so I don't have to bend over to dig I can sand scoop or where I don't have so much trash as I do at the parks I usually dig . I also have a Dr otek mt xr harbor freight h9 and BH QUICKSILVER the 440 is a monster I love it. Believe it or not the h9 is almost as capable I found so much stuff with it. Coins to 6 with h9 and the pinpoint is so accurate and easy to use and it has 3 modes tone a-m and disc in disc. The disc feature is quite good actually. It's analog knobs but it works good. The Dr otek for 127 is a bargain works great it's my back up now. I have only been out with 440 3 times I'm still learning it's behaviour I know it's recovery and target separation are good. I really like the 440 can't wait to work with more n more in the near future. I researched a lot before I bought it. I am very pleased with it so far. Coins down to 8 in dime at 7 yesterday.

    Thanks for sharing your Detector knowledge. I'm 39 and always wanted a metal detector. I just got my first one last year (Vanquish 440) after watching Curse of Oak Island. I have been trying to research what the different VDI numbers mean ,where to go and where I am allowed to go. I am in west Chicagoland suburbs. Only went digging a few times with the 440 but was impressed finding an 18k gold earring in my backyard in hole where a tree used to be on my 2nd dig mixed in with a bunch of nails. TY I will def Subscribe.

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад

      Awesome!! I found that is one of the hardest parts about MD also is finding a location you know is OK to dig. In time you will learn all of county regulations for public ground and the real treasure starts once you get private ground 💪 But there is treasure everywhere, just like you said! There can be gold right under your feet right in your back yard!! My first gold was in my front yard too!! Thanks for watching, vanquish is a great first machine to have that is for certain.

He gets more but i have no problem keeping busy digging targets and at the end of the day i have some good finds. Pull tabs and wire get a lot of hate from detector ists......but i am still new at it and dig more low tones than those i go out with. Still looking for my first nickle, ha ha ha

    Have the Vanqish 440 and the Simplex with the SP24. They are both really, really good machines. I dont know that one is better than the other, they both have their strengths, the Vanquish is great in clean ground and the 0-30 vdi range is a little easier to tell what youre digging. Really trashy areas will overwhelm it with midtones. The features on the Simplex for what it costs is unbeatable.. wireless, rechargeable, waterproof, backlight, flashlight, iron volume etc. If you have both machines do a test with masked targets, lay a quarter down against an iron nail etc, swap the nail for a nickel and so on. The Simplex will hit these targets and the Vanquish normally will not or give a really iffy/iron signal in my experience. I love them both though and use them probably 50/50.

    I have a Vanquish 440 and a Nox 600. Honestly, I think I like the Vanquish better. Hard to say. I tend to take the Nox to the beach in case a big wave knocks me over, but I always use the Vanquish at parks.

    Persistence is key. Love my Ace Apex, the only machine I have bought. Does the job and works amazing in the wet sand on the beach. I got it in the last few weeks so it already had the latest software update, no problems, no false signals. If I ever buy another detector it will be a pulse induction machine for more variety on the wet sand.

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад

      PI machines are really cool! I love all the different technologies involved... You are right on with that... the more time we get out there digging the more likely something good is gonna pop up out of the ground! Apex works really solid on the beach, gotta get the apex out there at my local spot again soon 👍

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      Yeah it really does! I think the 440 has a coil size in between, I think it's 10"? The thing surprises me how deep it goes even compared to other detectors with bigger coils... and the VDI for me is usually pretty solid at depth too. I think the whole vanquish series is awesome especially for the prices.

    Your lugging your vanquish wrong. I like to put the armrest part all the way down and hook it into the handle on top of my bag. It just hooks on perfectly. The weight of the vanquish itself keeps it secure, and it being outside the bag keeps dust/dirt out of the bag and having the coil hanging keeps it all off your back and shirt. Give it a try sometime just slide the top part down into your bags handle

    • @bottlecapdave2021
      @bottlecapdave2021 3 года назад

      In jewellery mode it notches in the lower IDs that also include foil and pull tabs, because gold jewellery can also come in that same range.

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад +2

      Yep just like Dave said most of the time those lowers will be trash but I have also pulled a little tiny 14k gold pendant that read up a 3-4 on the vanquish! However most of the time it will be trash... I dig LOTS of trash though in hopes one of those signals will be some surprise gold or jewelry.

But as far as wanting a new detector I am far from getting another one.. my line up is already taking up space and I can only bring one out at a time..of course back up in trunk of car just in case something happens to the one I am using..I do want to try out the Apex but really not sure if it will make a difference in the places I detect. Got a wheat cent is awesome... Not a bad day for you.. Keep up the Adventure ..

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      Whatever works best for you is what is best! The only reason I don't use coin mode is because it notches out the very low VDI numbers (which is usually aluminum foil) but I found a small 14k gold pendant that fell within those numbers so if I had it in coin mode I wouldn't have heard the gold. Rare case though!

    That little chunk of metal(the one with tire tread look) almost looks like shrapnel from a pineapple grenade and if you found a 50 caliber casing from 1943 that might have been some training grounds for military. Google pineapple grenade to see a picture of how they looked.

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад +2

      You just never know! It does look kind of similar, I also found some other shrapnel like objects around that spot. I am planning on bringing the nox out there maybe with the big coil for deeper targets and the 6" coil to see if there is some stuff I missed in all the iron. There is a cow field right beyond that spot that I think might hold some the history, I think this older stuff may be spilled over from that property. I tried finding an address to see if I could locate the owner but I couldn't find one so I am going to try to ask around locally and at the park see if anyone knows the person that owns that field... Thanks for the info as always steve!

    Check the 1946. If it’s a S, check to see if it’s a S stamped over D. If it’s a S, look it up to see what I mean. You have to look really close.

    How do u know whats worth digging in a trashy park signals every step, im new with the 540 finding it tricky, im digging nothing but foil and rusty nails

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  Год назад

      Park digging is tricky, depending on what you are looking for... if you want coins, it can be simple.. find out the basic target ID of coins and you will pretty much be able to pick coins out easy. The problem begins when you start searching for jewelry... jewelry in a lot of cases... sounds just like trash. But don't get discouraged, the more you use your detector the better you will get at identifying things under the ground. 👍

      I would say if you have the money to spend and are planning on staying around in the hobby for a while the equinox is a great all around machine to have! It really comes down to preference though, performance wise you will likely be finding more and going deeper! But there are a lot of different machines and brands out there so you just have to take your pick 👍 I personally love them all!!

    I'm a Tesoro lover. I have 5 of them. A Mojave, a Vaquero, an Outlaw, a Cibola, and a Deleon. Love em all; especially the Mojave and the DeLeon. I just may get a 440. What is the deepest coin you have found with the 440? I know my DeLeon will pick up a quarter about 8 inches down, but I bet that 440 may go a little deeper and get down there where the silver is.

      Really cool! I can't say for the sure 440 will go deeper however I remember doing a test using it next to the simplex and I buried a mercury dime at 9" deep and the vanquish 440 was picking it up pretty good!! I can say the vanquish for the price is a really good machine for multiple soil types, works really well for me here at the salty FL beaches. The vanquish 540 comes with an even bigger coil and I am sure would go even deeper if depth is what you are after but the vanquish also seems to separate pretty well. (not as good as the equinox but close behind) I appreciate you leaving a comment, really neat to know all the different detectors people are using! They all can find the treasure!! 💪

    I have the 340- the 440 and the 540 and All I Dig is Deep Rusty Nails. They sound good in the dirt but when I Dig them up then they don't give a good signal like it should. I don't know if minelab fixed the problem or what. My other machines don't have this problem. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад

      I have had issues in the past with some falsing... I know it helped me if I kept iron on, in most cases it will give me iron bumps or not be consistent both ways but that kind of tone can also be a coin hiding in iron so it's hard to tell... might just be a weak point on the vanquish

  • @hummyhero1484
    @hummyhero1484 3 года назад

    I have a bounty hunter land ranger pro and a minelab xterra 305. The bounty hunter is much more accurate at identifying targets and is lighter and easier to swing. A much better detector over all in my opinion. I almost always no what I’ve found before I dig it up with the bounty hunter but the xterra is usually a guess but that’s my experience and probably not everyones. I’m currently trying to decide what detector to buy next

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 года назад

      If you like ease of accuracy when it comes down to swinging over targets I really think the vanquish does an awesome job, I've done a few tests on my channel in the past that show it can hit deep silver and still give off a consistent silver tone. I have never used a BH or xterra but I think the vanquish is a great machine overall for the price, it uses very close to the same brains as the equinox! I know it surprises me every time I test it, from hitting tiny targets to going deep with accurate VDI! But keep on looking, there could be a better fit for you! I also really love the simplex.. 👍

      I have an Equinox 600 and think it might be a slight step above the Vanquish, it's waterproof if that means anything to you... might have a little better recovery speed but I've always had pretty good luck with my Vanquish. 👍

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Going to be honest I've never used a fisher but I have used garrett 200 and minelab 440. I think the minelab takes the slight win over the garrett because it uses newer technology, it hits on gold jewelry very well if there is any to be found. But in my opinion I would go check out a few videos of people using each machine and see what one you like the best! I think there is no bad choice though it just comes down to which one you like 👍
