Reusing my I3 sony laptop. Purchased in 2010 4gb ram. 500gb hdd. Used for 10 years. Cd drive went bad. Not needed now. Display, kbd failed. Connrcted external. Continued working. Hdd failed . Replaced with ssd. Working regularly. Changed wim 7 to 10. Increased ram bit. Now faster than original.
2009 Laptop Inspiron 1525, succesfyllu using as my self owned cloud server. I have 2TB, server access from anywhere. its amazing. This is also an option, if the system is working atleast. OS used is RaspberryPI, so resources required are lowest.
