Knowledge on Tap: Frida Kahlo and the Thin Line Between Tragedy and Inspiration

During WSU’s popular Knowledge on Tap speaker series, Wayne State University Art Professor Mel Rosas discussed his impressions of Frida Kahlo, her paintings, iconic image and time spent in Detroit with husband Diego Rivera.
Rosas’ presentation, “Frida Kahlo and the Thin Line Between Tragedy and Inspiration,” took place on March 4 at the Majestic Café. The event coincided with the Detroit Institute of Arts' "Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo in Detroit" exhibition that opened March 15 and runs until July 12.
