Unglaublich, ich lebe schon 75 Jahre mit vielen von euch zusammen auf dieser Erde und entdecke erst heute die wunderbare Welt von Niccolo Jommelli. So schade, denn es ist wunderbar, die Musik bewegt mich total! Da habe ich noch einiges nachzuholen.
Yes, nothing wrong with Mozart. But he is no Jommelli. Just the Italian warmth. IMO, all that is good in Mozart, and there is a lot, he learned from the Italians. The rest is Mozart elevator Muzac. Jommelli était beauté, message, violence et rêve, mais surtout l'instrument puissant d'une volonté formidable. Niccolo disait "Je veux" quand beaucoup d’autres marmonnaient "je voudrais" Il a atteint son but sans se plier à la plus infime compromission, comme une charrue accrochée à une étoile. Une fois pour toutes, ces gens-là traçaient leur chemin et ne s'en écartaient jamais, refusant toute flagornerie qui fait de la musique populaire d'aujourd'hui une lasse prostituée 🌺🕊

One day Leo pointed to Jommelli and said, "One day all of Europe will know about Jommelli." Leo's prophecy did not quite realize right away. But it will soon enough.
This requiem is not in the long list of requiems in the Wikipedia entry, And there is an argument for considering it the best ever.

L'esecuzione è sicuramente di alto livello, ma, a parte i cantanti che non hanno un filo di scuola (non certo per colpa loro!), l'orchestra in mesotonico ha fatto veramente il suo tempo! Spero vivamente finisca presto questa moda che fa sembrare sempre stonati gli strumenti solo per ottenere una sonorità 'antiqua' del tutto falsa e lagnosa!!!

Mozart a certainement du connaître cette œuvre car tant la structure que les ornements et éléments rhétoriques ( confutatis par exemple) se retrouvent dans la musique sacrée de l'autrichien.
