    Thats so cheap! Did you guys have to buy land to build it ? Im looking into tiny homes and looking where I can find all the information I can to where I can build, if I can buy land how does it work when recieving mail any kind of information refferal would be really great.

    • @WeekendRenegades
      @WeekendRenegades  3 года назад +2

      No, we were very fortunate and did not have to buy land. My brother and I each built a house on the same property. To my knowledge he just had to go to a post office and update the address for the lot to start receiving mail there. I don't know much about that, sorry! Good luck with the search!

    Did you have a lot of previous experience finishing out houses? Or did you learn as you go??

    • @WeekendRenegades
      @WeekendRenegades  3 года назад +9

      I had some experience in minor things like sheetrock and electrical, but we basically built this house using youtube tutorials lol. It's all easier than you think, just have to jump in!

      They might! Every county and city is different. Usually you can find out on the county's website.

    How much did each stage cost ALSO dod it have windows included? Does yours have a loft?

    • @WeekendRenegades
      @WeekendRenegades  3 года назад

      Hi there! There were no windows included, but there is an option to have them included. No loft in ours we instead had a few feet of attic crawlspace above the ceiling. I definitely do want to dive into the costs of the project so I will most likely make a separate, more detailed video. Thanks for watching!

    Is your insurance high having the wood stove? I am currently converting a 16x40 Graceland garden shed and have been debating putting one in!

    • @WeekendRenegades
      @WeekendRenegades  3 года назад

      Ours is a ventless propane stove, so I'm not sure if insurance would treat that differently than a real wood stove or not. We actually didn't have insurance on our portable building so I'm not sure what exactly they would require. But, I do know people have done it before. Sorry can't help more!

    how much was down payment? I live in beaumont texas and thinking doing this as my home

    • @WeekendRenegades
      @WeekendRenegades  3 года назад +2

      I believe we did about $1,300 for a down payment. If you can, I would really try to save up and buy the building outright. Or have a plan on paying the building off early. Otherwise you'll end up paying double the price of the building due to interest. Our $12,000 shell cost us over $20,000 in the end because we didn't have a plan. I did a video on renting to own, maybe check that one out!
