This is just incredible....how do you come up with these ideas? I mean it is hard to follow, but it is another thing to plan this yourself! For how many years are you folding origami?
An excellent example of a 22.5 crease pattern. Unlike box pleat crease patterns (those that use square grids- Riccardo Foschi's Baby White Scorpion is a good example) where you pre-crease everything, then collapse it to form the base, this model (like most 22.5's) involve some pre-creasing, but it is mostly just a minor collapse, followed by diagram-type steps, before shaping. Great job, Tadashi.
17:30 First step: "make a fold along the first line here and you're going to inside reverse along this second line..." Second step: "do they hokey-pokey" Third step: "recite pi to 314 digits" Fourth step: "go to the moon to face the evil darkness dragon 1.0 (Tadashi Mori)" Fifth step: "watch seal.mp4 for 3 hours straight" Sixth step: "rip your paper into 78192 equal parts" Seventh step: "unfold everything" Eight step: "refold everything" Ninth step: "repeat on the other side"

Hi Mr. Tadashi Mori, I’m here just to let you know that finally, after a few days, I MADE IT! I even memorized it all! I think that once you anderstand what you are folding, it’ s very easy to realize! I’m just a beginner in complex orogamis like this but I think it gave me a very very very good start for fold other “master’s” (ancient dragon for example)! At the moment I’m learning the Phoenix with your tutorial! Well, very compliments and thanks for blowing my mind!
11:21 i pray for yall during the collapse. it was easy for me since i went over these creases a couple thousand times but i highly suggest marking which creases will become valleys and which creases become mountains
Jam Hopsey I had the exact same experience. It took me forever to understand it. I go over the first triangle crease behind with a pencil to make a mountain fold and keep using the pencil to make all the creases. It is really satisfying once it "clicks."
This was a great start to coming back to my origami hobby after 6 months or so. I really enjoyed making it, and the result is even better than I expected to be on my first model after a long time. Good job!

Its probably cheap colored paper, but if you are planning to make this origami, agua papel might be the best paper. Its thin and great for shaping. Doesn't tear very easily. This origami isn't printer paper friendly
Don't make if you're using A3 or A4 paper because: 1. Its too small of a size. I had to put two A3 papers togetherand cut them into a square, and that was a little on the small side. Aim for 50-60+ cm 2. The paper is too thick. I had to skip the part at 31:05 and had multiple paper rips because the paper would not fold! Though A3 paper isnt recommended, I'm using it as a starter, so when I make the FULL model without any rips or skips, it will be with larger + thinner paper.

Hello! My name is Uroš and I have folded what I believe it to be, the world's smallest Darkness Dragon! My journey began with a small piece of paper, only 5,2x5,2 cm in size! At my disposal, I had one toothpick and one small knife. At first, it wasn't very difficult, I've managed much smaller, but as the process of folding something like this went on.. My God... At some points, it looked like it was impossible! All those tiny tuck-in's, those small gaps of only few millimetres openings? It took me several days to fold it! Bit by bit, piece by piece, I have recorded a time-lapse video of a creation of such a beautiful piece of art! But, at my great sorrow, the piece was getting too small, as far as the head being somewhere around 1/3 of my fingernail! And, when it finally came time to fold it in half, the paper itself couldn't support such a small folds that it ripped by little! And there I was, heartbroken, seeing something that I worked so hard on, at that point probably about (in non continuity) 7 or 8 hours, it made me stranded. I couldn't finish the tutorial, I couldn't make those details. But, I didn't want to go down without a fight, so, I did my best and finished the model! Now, I know, details are not the same as in my last one, also probability the worlds 1st smallest Darkness Dragon (even impressed Tadashi Mori himself to whom I'm to this day grateful for sharing my art on his page, it still makes me feel amazing), but, the last model was made from considerably bigger paper, and if I remember right, I think it was around 6x6 cm or 7x7 cm piece of paper! And, after my journey of gaining valuable experience and immensely improved skill of creating such small origami, I have shared the looks of it on my newly made Facebook page, to whom you may find link here : facebook.com/tinyorigami I will be making more origami, small and big, and with your support of following me, you're giving me inspiration, motivation and dedication to create even more and even smaller origami models! Don't ask how long I was folding on this model, uncounted hours. But in the end I finished it! Ok, my dragon doesn't look so nice as yours but at least my wife recognized it as a dragon, not as a bee or a dragonfly or something ( what happens quite often). Thanks for the tutorial. It was pain and fun at the same time folding your model. Now I need the next challenge. What would you recommend? 🤔😃
@@cordron8200 Hello from the future, I was indeed lying, i didn't manage to fold it. I tried with Color Set. I was a kid at the time and just wanted some attention. Btw i used Google translate, and for some reason it translated cartolina (a paper similar to color set) to cardboard...?
I am very proud to say I did this. but it does have alot of rips down the mid. but I was using a thick designers paper because it was the biggest paper soo.
Really ? So if i was able to make the Fiery dragon this should be no problem ? Because i attempted this a few times and still having issues, trying to finish it :( By the way Fierce Folder, love your channel. Keep it up
Thanks! Well the Fiery dragon and Darkness dragon are a bit different. You need a thin paper that holds shape like double tissue foil for the darkness dragon because of paper thickness. The Fiery dragon does not really have this issue. Try using homemade double tissue foil and you should end up with something that looks like the one on my channel. :) Good luck!

How many can you make?
That looks lit!! I made it with a piece of printer paper (8 1/2" x 11")!!! Legs are way too small tho ._.
xd, you are supposed to use a square
I always use tissue foil with spray adhesive glue (40x40 cm)
now how long did u take to design and remember all these folds, and how does your paper not rip
How do you divide one line into three?! At 6:16, Tadashi, you should explain how to divide them into three!
Joel Segal its really very simple, you can simply measure, but i just eyeballed it
I was able to make it but my paper is too thick so the back and the belly and also the leg teared.
I've discovered your channel minutes ago and the first thing I've done is... SUSCRIBE! Because all your origamis are AMAZING and AWESOME. Great job!
DAMN IT! mountain folds, my old enemies
Is there a certain method of doing 11:30 more efficiently? That whole step usually takes me around 20 minutes to do. Thanks!
How do you "spread the layers" 4:11
Don't ask how long I was folding on this model, uncounted hours. But in the end I finished it! Ok, my dragon doesn't look so nice as yours but at least my wife recognized it as a dragon, not as a bee or a dragonfly or something ( what happens quite often). Thanks for the tutorial. It was pain and fun at the same time folding your model. Now I need the next challenge. What would you recommend? 🤔😃
Very long
How do people come up with these designs?
Crystal meth.
I KNOW RIGHT
No clue. I can come up with pretty good designs, but it does not compare to this complexity level.
Math
Look up Robert J Lang, he talks about modern day algorithms that can make almost any shape
I tried with Color Set and didn't do it
I failed at making the legs (since the paper was thick)
Don't try with anything less than 45x45
Wtf man, with cardboard??? You're very skilled.
@@sajanator3 he's clearly lying lmao

Hello from the future, I was indeed lying, i didn't manage to fold it. I tried with Color Set.
I was a kid at the time and just wanted some attention.
Btw i used Google translate, and for some reason it translated cartolina (a paper similar to color set) to cardboard...?
How thick is the paper you used for doing the black one?
I am very proud to say I did this. but it does have alot of rips down the mid. but I was using a thick designers paper because it was the biggest paper soo.
I made this. My recommendation is if you go to a craft store such as Michael's, buy a large roll of craft paper.
What's more difficult ? This or the Firey Dragon ? I can make the First Dragon without any issue. But hesitant to try this.
Actually, I think the 2nd one is easier so you should be able to make this:)
Really ? So if i was able to make the Fiery dragon this should be no problem ? Because i attempted this a few times and still having issues, trying to finish it :(
By the way Fierce Folder, love your channel. Keep it up
ColomboSensei
Definitely this! Infolded the Fiery Dragon with little issue. This one the other hand..
Wow,really amazing!
Hi! At 5:50, whan you separate in three, have you got any suggestion to separate without using a ruler? Thanks
which is more complex -this or fiery dragon
