I did change it up though I once said to my son when he was 5 or 6 "Because I said so" and he said "But why?" I replied with a straight face and said to him "Because I've been waiting for 26 years to be able to say that."
I never appreciated my mother more until I myself became a mother with my first child, after about 6 months of realizing what it actually takes to be a mother. I thought back on all the work she put in with 8 children for many years, I wrote her a letter of appreciation and thanks.
I'm not going to lie. I cried towards the end with Whoopi and her mom wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day. The music coming on, the appreciation, and love wrapped around it all. You just don't realize what you have until it's gone. Whoopi's mom was so beautiful. Inside and out. She's in a better place now. Rest easy Emma Harris Johnson ❤.
