“Joker” pays tribute to Stone’s father, a veteran and stunt pilot we lost to Covid. Imagine you’re a child, Dad wakes you up before dawn, takes you to the airport and straps you into his two seater acrobatic aircraft and you both launch into a gorgeous, burning orange and red sunrise. He flips the plane upside down just as you come over the Santa Cruz mountains above Steamers Lane, the engine growling into a dive toward waves covered with surfers, jumping from their boards in fear of a crash. Dad laughing his ass off, upside down and lightning fast, then, spinning upward, straight for the stars. He cuts the power, into a stall! You fall backwards, your heart spit from your chest, all the angels in heaven vibrate in your bones and dad, The Joker, laughs even louder as the free fall consumes you. A quick trick with the controls, the engine comes back to life like an earthquake, the power under your seat, you both scream! Then, like a dream, like a blanket, the clouds below softly carry you to wherever you wanted to go.
This was a typical Sunday morning for Patrick and his father.

However, there is one place on this planet that reminds me of the eighties metal/rock scene right now! SWEDEN and probably Japan. You guys would be huge in Sweden particularly. I’m 52 years old so I remember the MTV days.

This is such a beautiful song! RUclips recommended it, and I clicked it, and I think I've listened to it 10 times in a row already. I hope this gets some heavy airplay, especially for Memorial Day.

That would be truly incredible. My father and I used to go and see the Angels every chance we got.
@@BUDDERSIDE my great-uncle was a fighter pilot in Vietnam, he would later become a photographer for the Long Beach press-telegram, and every year he would be assigned to the air show at Miramar. It was 1989 when he first invited me to join him, I was ten years old, and he invited me every year for the next 13 years until his passing in 2002. I got to meet the Blue Angels three times, never realizing how lucky I was until later on in life. Some awesome memories, and your song reminds me of all of those awesome days.

Add dog-fighting or combat, bombing runs, it’s a human nature not-so human to the rest of us. Like you, I can still smell the hangar, the cockpit, the discipline, the talent and the ambition that led to the freedom of flying in formation with other elite. Aviation is truly magical. I’m so glad we share this and a love for music. Hope to see you at an air show or one of our concerts someday.

Really nice tune - didn't see any writing credits? The video is sort of good if you like airplanes, but sorry - it's a terrible idea for this song (was it the singer's concept?). Doesn't seem to have any connection to the lyrics, - including he heart at the end (why not a "joker in the sky?") A real filmmaker with a better story concept could have gotten this track millions of views (and tons of new fans too).
