This is the hardest part of replacing the headlights (that video was really helpful too). Using this video to know the sequence and what bolt/clips to remove/replace made the process go much more smoothly. Thank you.
Thank you for actually showing how to do this. Other videos try to but leave out the most difficult part which is pulling the bumper off of the clips.
Thank you for being clean, educated, concise and professional 👌🙏
Man this was helpful!!! Thanks!!! I appreciate that you included the little tricks needed to get it to release easily! This was perfect!
This saved me so much time and headache. Only slightly different for my 2012 (as noted below, and I added notes there as well). I did this to replace the horn, and removing the bumper was probably the easiest part of the entire project. I did have a little trouble putting it back on at first - it would just not line up right. I had it upside down...
Hey @TheCliffclifford were you upgrading the horn from the lousy stock horn by chance? Did you go with a dual horn and add a relay or anything?
@@jonbush404 Yep, swapped out the crap stock horn. I didn't do a dual horn - I didn't want to screw up anything electrical.
@@TheCliffcliffordI have a 2012 civic as well my airbag light is on lol😅I don’t know how to fix it
Wow this looks so easy and simple. Other videos made it more complicated than it had to be.
This is great for taking off, I’m having a hard time putting the bumper back on the brackets that hold it in place
Hey great tutorial - incredibly helpful. Were you able to use the same clips when reassembling the bumper, or did you need new ones?
Doing the lords work bruh. Appreciate the vid
OMG... that's all there is to it??? I have the same '14 Kona Brown Metallic and I pointed out to the dealer's shop estimator that the joint along the left side of the bumper where it meets the fender is displaced by about an eighth of an inch - not terribly bad but noticeable if you look for it in a walk-around. He said that the left-side "bumper stay" was starting to come loose and it needed to re replaced. Asked him how much and he said about 2-2½ hours labor - all told, about $300. Said if it wasn't replaced, it (the bumper) would eventually work itself loose and would be just left dangling instead of it still being fully secured as it is now.
Hell, if it's that simple to remove it, I'll do it myself if I can get a replacement "bumper stay" from a parts supplier.
Great vid BTW.
Thank you very much for making this video. You saved me a lot of time. A+++++
Thank you so much! I would have never figured it out.
hello, nice tutorial; i need to replace the lens of my front fog light Honda Civic AT Executive 2012, can i do this by just removing the plastic trim that embeds the fog light, or do we have to remove the front bumper completely ? Thanks for your help
Thank you sir!
Thank you for your video. It was a huge help!
Hi Very helpful video! I have troubles to put the bumper cover back to its original position - not sure if the tabs in the cover should be under or above the metal tabs right below the headlight. Any tips? Thanks
i viewed all three of these videos anc they are great!
Thanks for the video. Helped me tons.
Can a 2015 honda civic coupe front bumper fit on a 4 door sedan ?
Hello I am needing to replace the Transmission oil pressure switch , can you tell me the easiest way to access it and replace? 2013 honda civic like this. I am leaning towards the panel on the bottom since thats how transmission fluid change is done but now sure if taking off who splash guard is better? Please help.
Nice vid. Is there a video where you actually replace/install the bumper? Or any advice you can give me lol
Jeremy Thacker just do the steps backwards forehead
On the right front, facing the 2014 honda civic, what does the restrictor look like behind the bumper? Is it plastic too?
This video is not an exact procedure for the 2012 Civic. The 2012 is similar, but some small differences. There are also two hex head bolts to remove above the radiator area. Two more pop snaps also must be removed slightly aft and above of the radiator area. I recommend using two small jeweler type screwdrivers, prying in unison and on opposing sides of the pop snap heads. If the pop snaps are old and stiff, they might break off by applying force only on one side. The dealer gets their $$ for these snaps, and it's another trip downtown.
My notes (so far) for a 2012 4D LX. No 10MM bolts underneath, only clips.
Notes #2, #3, and #4 - The hex head bots are (2) 10mm allen heads, so a 10mm socket will not work. These are in addition to the pop snaps that are everywhere. For the pop snaps, I was able to use a small flathead screwdriver to get the center part up so I could remove the entire thing. I had a few that were slightly stubborn after the center piece was up, but I was able to get them out with a set of needle nose pliers. Finally, there are a few locations underneath that have more than the plastic bumper connecting to the frame. There is another piece (passenger side had one for sure) that is held in place with the pop snap. Lining it up was pretty easy, but I had to do it twice as I forgot it the first time.
Thank you for this, saved me a lot of searching and grief
@@TheCliffclifford Thanks a ton dude, your notes helped make this a lot easier than it would have otherwise been
@@notes1032 You are very welcome. I am glad it saved someone some time. It was the least I could do since the OP posted such a great video to start with.
@DIY Honda do you have remove bumper to replace radiator?
Amazing video thank you for the reference
How do u put it back ...alone
Thank you! Saved me from going to the body shop
can I use the same grill to the hybrid (civic) 2013
Thanks!
You are awesome, Thanks so much!
100% . Good looking out..
Hi, can you plz make a video or share any information about the installation of this civic front license plate bracket. I need to install it and haven't found any single video or any information regarding it. Thanks
ruclips.net/video/pYg7e5d54A4/видео.html. This is the bracket I have but don't have any idea about installation.
Hello, It is possible to replace the bumper of a civic 2014 in a 2012...?
It is possible but head lights, stiffener brackets, spacer brackets, and fenders will also need swapped out.
Make sure you have replacement clips, because taking them out destroyed some of them.
Awesome video! Thx!!!!!!
You make that so easy. 😆
is this the same for a coupe?
It may not be the exact same but the same concept will apply.
How do you put it back into those front brackets
It will lay in there then when its all aligned give it a good smack with your fist and it will just clip in.
Can I get those phillips screws off the bottom without a power tool?
A regular screwdriver will work fine.
What size are those bumper clips? I may need to buy some just incase it breaks.
I have a link to replacement clips in the description.
SHOW THE 2012, IT IS DIFFERENT. THERE ARE STAY'S IN THE TOP. WHAT ABOUT THOSE?
Would be nice if you could re-upload this in a viewable resolution
Same process on a 2015 si?
Did you ever find out?
hell yeah
My clips are just shattering LOL
Yup after like two years of heat these clips just break. I had to order a whole box of clips to replace
Kemahhhhh
This is a misleading video for a Honda Civic 2012. Refer to ruclips.net/video/uN901pjndCw/видео.html if you are working on a Civic 2012/2013.
LOL! That's not the bumper. That's just the bumper COVER. The bumper is that long black curved piece in front of the radiator. That flimsy piece of plastic ain't gonna stop shit when you hit it.
Ehh looks simple enough haha
and your bumpers off.. @shocked face@
Thanks
Thank you my friend!
You’re welcome! :)
great detail, thanks
