The old father actor and attorney partner actress had only recently come off a 50 episode weekender named 'Revolutionary Sisters' where they played very different working class roles.
This drama was adapted from a real case that happened in Korea. Other cases except episode 9 are trials that actually took place in Korea. Only episode 9 is fictional, but a similar case is Michael Jackson's case. There's a little bit of adaptation for the dramatic effect of the drama, but it actually happened in Korea. Through the drama, you'll know the values, cultures, and human relationships of Koreans that are different from Western culture.
I'm watch the Park Eu-bin series 'Do You Like Brahms' and was surprised to see the older attorney partner actress also has a prominent role in that series too. Actress Baek Ji-won
A million dollar settlement isn't so big compared to the settlements I've heard about in the US where people get compensated tens of millions dollars for frivolous claims. Rich Chinese families still arrange marriages, usually to consolidate their businesses. I would suppose rich Korean families would do the same. In some Asian cultures, being Christian is taken seriously.
I think buddhism is about other things is the world than money and material stuff, enlightenment etc. So, the whole idea of taking that amount of money and living in luxury actually goes against her beliefs.

This is my favorite K drama, it's so good.
