First time when I heard him playing geralt I was a little worried but after watching season 1 I feel like he was born the play him.

Henry really is perfect for the role, not only does he have Geralt’s mannerisms perfected, but you can tell really cares and is a fan of the character and story, one of the best casting choices ever
he is a fan of himself
“Xbox or Playstation?”

“PC”

"Harry Potter or game of thrones?"
"the lord of the rings"
Geralt: how about a round of gwent?
Henry: let's lay'em down
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Cavill was a gwent lord.
I'm on the last episode of this now. I have to say it is incredible. It's the first show I've watched in a long time where I wanted to keep clicking next episode.
I watched it and it was a bit confusing at times but I knew nothing about The Witcher going in
Henry Cavill is one of my favs. I feel like he's one of the most underappreciated actors living today. His Geralt is top notch too.
You just know Cavill is tired of the question "Who is the Witcher!?"
I love how into the stuff about the swords he is.
I'm actually skeptical of your observation. Cavill strikes me more as someone that would react as follows: "You wish to know of the WITCHER do you? Gather' round! Come one! Come all as I recount the man, the myth, the LEGEND.... humbly known as... the Witcher."
@@wraitheory Exactly, dude literally said he forced himself to stop talking, wanting to expand further on the sword techniques, lol.
Soon he'll be tired of random people tossing coins at him.
Throughout the years, Cavill has evolved into one of my favourite actors
Steel for Humans
Silver for Monsters
Gold for The Witcher
nc
In the books Geralt only walks around with his steel sword and keeps his silver with roach most of the time
@@donttakemeseriousbruh5415 I don't think he carried them both around in the show. Of course in games characters can carry thousands of lbs of stuff...
Steel and silver for both monsters of different kind.
Yeah...he says he has read ALL the source material multiple times and plays the games. I just finished the show yesterday and its FANTASTIC. Note that I went in knowing zero about anything related to The Witcher.
Grevlain same
Finished it? So that means the 8 episodes are the whole first season? There won't be more?
@@MikeyMT ofcourse not. That's the entirety of season 1. Next season next year
@@MikeyMT Correct - 1st season is 8 episodes. A 2nd season has been green-lit. I believe they start filming for that early 2020.
little did you know, he really sounds similar with the Geralt from the Witcher Game. lol
Title should've just been "Henry Cavill Nerding out for 3 minutes"
Geralt: ¡Hmmm!
Me: pregnant
Sad news for you...Geralt is sterile.
Witchers cant have kids they are steriled
Sorry if i spelled sth bad
Geralt is sterile, I'm a dude, yet there's still an offspring. Such is the power of destiny.
@@InFiD3ViL1 yeah but his ¡Hmmm! Isn't sterile.
Damn, I’ve never seen someone who’s perfect for a role more than Henry to the witcher.
his grunts and the tone of his voice is way too perfect to be in a Netflix adaptation.
It’s mind boggling really.
The Witcher show: Mild concern.
Henry Cavill is Geralt: *I'll take ten seasons*
Only ten?
Rookie numbers
lets see if netflix can actually count past 3 seasons for once in their lives

When Cavill nails a role, he becomes synonymous with that character forever. Superman, Geralt... These two will forever be thought of as Henry Cavill.

He nailed the Geralt character brilliantly. Can't picture anyone else who could portray it better. 😊
This dude looks like he is sculptured by Michelangelo himself, he is perfect to play Superman, Witcher and James Bond (really hope he will be next James Bond), he is really smart, well spoken and passionate about his projects, all in all really cool dude :)
Isn't he too "beefy" for Bond? 😅
@@Grauer1510 People also said that when he became Geralt but nobody's complaining now.
@@Grauer1510 Geralt is also slimmer than him but who cares about that, as long as the series are well written.
Dillon Brunschon thank the liberals
@@christianBSN I'm left leaning and didn't want that. Rather than giving a male's role to a female for the sake of feminism, they should've just been original and came up with their own superspy movie that stands on it's own with a well written female lead. As it stands, it defeats the whole idea that women can be independent. Because once again they had to take what a male started and made famous.
Henry actually knows who and how he's gonna play as. For his sake I hope the show wont flop.
When netflix was looking for people to play geralt, Henry really pushed it to get the role since he's a huge witcher fan. Played all 3 games and read the book.
@@nightseeker226 He mentions only playing the Witcher 3 on PC
He does reference the book in this interview as well.
I love how knowledgeable he is about his role. When Henry tells you he's a fan of something you know he's telling the truth, unlike a lot of other actors who only say certain things to please audiences.
No one :
Geralt : Hmmm
stop it
He's that kind of guy who you won't expect to be a huge nerd. He's one piece of meat, but goddamn aint he knows his stuffs well.
He seem to be a huge fan of world of warcraft aswell, talks about it alot in interviews that he is a player.

Henry Cavil is a celebrity, but at heart he is one of us.
"He is a white knight in a shell of Witcher"
What a great word to explain Geralt character
In case of sarcasm, he says white knight in the context of a noble hero, not a betamale who defends women at every chance he gets even if the women are wrong, out of desperate hope to get laid.
Geralt is the hero, not the nice guy.

People before the series came out: this is going to prove a so bad casting
Henry: hold my beer
I don't know anyone that thought this was bad casting.
Ross Shepherd honestly I must say I for one was pretty skeptical pre watching the series since i played the games i had this picture of what a ‘real life’ geralt would be like but i think henry killed it all the way can’t think of anyone more suitable than him at this point (post-watching the series) he’s badass
Change it to "hold my coin" and your likes will probably triple. 😉
Or hold your ale

Just finished watching Season 1.
The sword fights with men, are just unreal, compared to other shows.
Beautifully made and definitely exceeds expectations.
Your expectations must have been in the toilet, the show is poorly made lacking in so many areas

Steve Ozone looooool
They'll probably make a CG-Roach on a roof if they'll make blooper cuts; remember: no horse should be harmed during the production
There's this side quest in Toussaint were Roach talks. I want to see Roach Talk in the series
Also one scene where he has to stand at a pixel perfect spot to mount the damn thing😅
@@RenMagnum4057 you are aware these series are based on stories written in books right?
Answer: More than anyone else on the show’s crew
This man has been doing his research, impressive
he didnt need to, he read the books and played the games way before he was asked to play Geralt
He is a massive Witcher fan, no research was needed for him
rhys jones plus he asked to be in Witcher

Awesome! Very cool that the actor knows so much about the Witcher. Because of it he can play the character better
Saint Uchiha better, n I agree
When i'm first playing Witcher games i never imagined that this guy would be Geralt of Rivia.
And yeah, I think he will be great Geralt.
The show is here and indeed, he's a great Geralt!
I haven"t read the books or played the games but I love that he explains how meteorite and silver swords work against monsters. It's a sad thing that it isn't explained in the show, but fortunately, Mr Cavill is a bigger nerd than me
It's actually not really explained in the books and Geralt himself debunks that his steel sword is meteorite iron though :')

Henry Cavill is so comfortable in all these Witcher interviews. He answers every question eloquently, he knows about all the characters not just Geralt, the world of the witcher and the fantasy genre. He’s invested and passionate in this role. He fits right in. This is his world. This is home to him. He’s perfect for this job and this job is perfect for him. And I couldnt be happier.

@@purge3311 Keep in mind the second and third are far more modern and play quite differently to the first. If you enjoy and can finish the first, awesome! Just make sure you give 2 and 3 a go if you don't :)
See Cha I agree with that, having played the wild hunt I was somewhat confused as to why geralt only carried one sword on him and who jasker was up until they showed the young ciri then I thought “maybe in the past he carried one sword when he didn’t have to fight humans as much and dandelion can’t be the only bard geralt has met” I have not played the first two witcher games and at the time of the show’s airing it had been a while since I played wild hunt
To be honest I think it is much higher. I doubt many people who watched the show actually read any single of the books let alone all of them and all the games like Cavill.

He has absolutely crushed the role as Geralt! I can't imagine anyone else playing him but Cavill! I just finished the first season, and I absolutely loved it!
- And now, how much does Geralt know about Henry Cavill ?
- who?
I'm hyped to the death 😅
This is the exact thing that should come to someone's mind when they say "Henry Cavill",not Superman, not anymore.
Henry Cavill is the only actor who could talk about the character this in depth and I'd believe him 'cause he's constantly on interviews trying not to frighten everyone with his extensive knowledge of videogames and Warhammer 40k
The man missed his first call telling him he had the Superman role....because he was playing WoW.
Henry’s love for Geralt reminds me of Ryan’s love for Deadpool
