- A community meeting was held in the 34th Ward on Wednesday evening as asylum-seeking migrants prepare to move to a hostel in Chicago's Greektown neighborhood.
I wish American citizens had access to this kind of support & shelter!
They do when we don't have a democrat in the White House, they always put everyone else ahead of our own citizens. It's been like this since the end of Clinton's first term. That's one reason I swapped voting a mixed ticket to a straight Republican ticket. We have to take care of our citizens first because the money spent is our tax money from innocent tax paying citizens. I can't stand that Biden opened the borders, flooding major cities and giving more to migrants than they do to our own citizens. It's really sickening and other countries think we are crazy.
BTW, the lady speaking saying everyone has a right to seek asylum in another country is just not true, it is not a right, far from it. She is part of the problem.

Did you see what the DACA enrollees did to Nancy Pelosi? I have no love lost for Pelosi, believe you me, but watching them protest and disrupt her presentation was disgusting. Yes, it's the monster of her own making so in that sense there's some delicious irony to it, but after that reaction passed, it felt like I was watching the beginnings of a revolution. They were talking about their "human rights" as "undocumented people" and DEMANDING that Pelosi not only support legalizing them, but legalizing all 11 million ILLEGAL ALIENS living in this country not because they "came here as children and it would be cruel to punish them when they didn't break the law" yada yada yada, but because they have what they claim to be a RIGHT that they DEMAND she honor.
I actually took the time to listen to the hearing that the house of representatives held on this issue last week, and they were talking about the fact that illegal aliens, remove five dollars in resources for every one dollar they put back into the system which was bad enough, but I'm unclear as to whether that includes all the money they send out of the country and all of the tax dollars we spend on illegal immigration as it is, which, in actuality would also be part of the burden they are placing on the American taxpayer. It's unfathomable to me that these people honestly believe they have some sort of right to take from our people and if they believe that, then they believe that all wolf Hass to be re-distributed, because that is the only end result that I could produce because people would just continue to migrate to every place that had more and demand their "fair share". People don't think about where this goes to the logical collusion.

As an American Tax Payer I'm disgusted that the president went against most everyone's wishes and opened the border without even addressing the costs associated with it. Some of us work 2 and 3 jobs to make a decent living, we pay sales tax, property tax, taxes on our cars, it's registration, titles, blah, blah, blah. In addition we also pay more than 34% of our income to taxes, we are literally taxed to death! AN OPEN LETTER TO THOSE WHO ARE PRO MIGRANT
I believe this politician is a joke 43:04 because I would argue that his response to the question about our veterans was woefully inadequate. With that in mind, let's think about this the way we would our household budget. Let's imagine that all the money we have set aside for such help were sitting in a big pot on our collective kitchen table. How would you decide how to spend it?
Would it not make sense to handle those funds the same way you would your household budget? I'd you don't treat all household expenses as if they were if equal value, would you not prioritize funds in a the same way that you do at home? If you understand that failing to pay your mortgage is a bigger deal than failing to pay your cable bill, would you not divvy up those state funds based on the groups you felt were most important and if so which groups would make this list?
For me it would start with 100% of the needs for ❤️vets. I would next want to reinstate the ability for the system to force mental health help since there's no quality of life for anyone if someone without mental health care is on the streets. ❤️Let's get those with mental health needs the help they need. Next I would want to take care of our kids in ❤️foster care system. Wards of the state are our responsibility and if you turn 18 in the system, you should be transitioned in to some ❤️foster care to adult transition program. Perhaps next I would say it's taking care of ❤️victims of crime. Then I would want to take care of our ❤️disabled community and our ❤️impoverished elderly. Next would be ❤️families without homes short term and then the working poor. If we still have money next I would provide ❤️drug rehab for those wanting it and diversion programs for ❤️first time offenders seeking supports. If you want to turn your life around and we have the money then we ought to help.
If I were assigned this task, I would gather data from the community and finalize the list. I would then meet with every group that made the list and I'd assess their needs with a priority list and an "extras if there is money list and I wouldn't move on to the next group until I had covered all the priority assistance. I would work collectively because I understand that while this is MY list, my list is not necessarily yours and what I think is a priority might not be to you, but this would be my framework because when I think of our social safety net I think of it as "the moral compass of society" so to speak. It is a safety-net that a society may consider offering to its most vulnerable citizens once it has developed enough that it has the means to do so. To be clear, I am a small federal gov, bigger local gov, public/private partnership kind of a gal because i want the money and the decision makers as close to the people as possible so we have the ability to influence how OUR ASSETS are spent and I wholeheartedly believe that Uncle Sam has no business taking food off of anyone's table without a very valid reason. While this is my list, I recognize that we would each have our own "list."Maybe your list has a different order. Maybe it has more groups and maybe it has less, but for me, I would say that IF and I mean IF ALL of the priority items and most of the non priority items had been funded, then and only then would I put the first dollar toward migrants as I see it each of those groups would be "above the line." Here are my questions for you:
📌if we had the means to compile a collective list for every city in America, how closely do you think it would match my list and where do you imagine asylum-seekers might rank on most of those lists?
📌if we we think about in those terms, what percentage of our cities do you believe have adequately met the "above the line"needs of its citizenry? If you could poll our citizens, can you honestly table me that we have EVEN ONE CITY IN AMERICA 🇺🇸❤️ where the majority of its citizens could say that yes, our city's "above the line" priorities have been adequately addressed and we are in a position to take on the first migrant?
📌Of those cities which have sufficiently provided support to its priority/most vulnerable people, how many asylum seekers do you imagine they could collectively take on before that spending would begin to effect its priority spending?
📌Compared to the total number of migrants YOU BELIEVE cities could take on, do you believe the number of asylum seekers than Joe Biden has admitted in to this country exceeds that number and if so how can you justify doing so above and beyond the objections of our people?
📌If you suggest that federal leaders should provide every city with enough money to address both whatever they don't have for their "above the line" spending AND the migrants how much money would that require and how exactly would you produce those funds (and don't tell me "tax the rich" or "cut defense" like it's a talking point, tell me I believe that would cost $1 trillion that I would get by cutting the production of. These 3 planes and increasing our sales tax 1%, something concrete)
The problem I have is that I believe there is not a single local government that has held a town hall like this for disabled Americans. There is not a single city where there aren't veterans in need? There isn't a city in American where I believe there "above the line" needs have been met and I don't believe you could come up with the kind of money that it would require without further burdening our people either with inflation or tax increases. I also fundamentally object to the fact that nearly every level of OUR GOVERNMENT seems to be OUT OF STEP with the wishes of our people. It's rare that that public is so clearly aligned on an issue in part because so few leaders tell us the truth about what they are doing, but it has now become so flagrant that we can see the effect on our life. We can see that not only is our government failing our people in places like chicago, we can't even provide for the people in Lahaina and in Erie more than a month after a tragedy. No one mobilized to find the missing children in Maui or evacuated the children in Erie but we can mobilize for a group of foreigners, of which we know 80% or more are breaking our laws and taking advantage of our people.
Why are you going against your fellow Americans to support this knowing that it will harm them? Please make your case and help me to understand why you think this is ok.

I saw another video that Ms. DeLeon attended where all she did was say to the Black neighborhood residents that “the migrants are human beings”. There was no reason that she needed to say that….the Black residents are mad at the city and the fact that the city has taken away valuable resources in the Black communities like parks and the services that are provided there such as after school programs, sports programs and senior programs. Instead Ms. DeLeon was extremely condescending. No one at those meeting are mad at the migrants…the city and federal government are blamed for this shit show! Ms. DeLeon needs to learn how to address the Black residents of Chicago or stop addressing the meetings. Totally unprofessional on her part!
