Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.
The Official Channel devoted to the brilliance of DI Adrian Monk; the defective San Franciscan detective, whose OCD is both a blessing and a curse. We'll be posting the very best moments from the show so, like Monk, you'll never miss a beat.

I love the justice's reaction, like "At least this will make for a funny story, unlike the other three interruptions this month."
I just love the looks on everyone’s faces when Sharona and Monk object to the wedding.😂
😂😂
Kevin's best and worst time of his live. Got worn down by Vicki. Almost got killed.
And last but not least, won millions of dollars.
Too bad he only lasted a season
@@akmi1931 He did? I thought he died in like Season 5 or something.
@@harringt100yes it was so sad and unexpected
@@harringt100 He was killed in Season 7, I believe.
It was so sad.
I’m pretty sure he got laid too!
"Hurry up, but not too fast" 😂😂
Nicole DeHuff who played the murderess Vicki Salinas would pass away a little more than a year after this episode was first broadcast. She was only *30!* Sad.
RIP Nicole 😢😢😢
Cancer?
@@LaineMann pneumonia just Google it
@@LaineMann,
No, from pnuemonia
@@chiensyang No one dies from pneumonia these days, especially that young?? There must have been another disease involved? 🤔🤔
@@keithbannister9271,
You are partially right. DeHuff was misdiagonsed at first and sent home. When the condition worsened, she returned to the hospital. Although the hospital diagnosed correctly the second time, she was beyond the point to recover from and died.
I hoped her husband at the time sued the hospital.
Really Would Love To See This Show Revived. Maybe Even A Stand Alone Movie. I Think It Would Compliment The Series. What Do You Think...
Agreed. The X-Files got revived and we saw Mulder using a smartphone. Monk should get a smartphone too. There should be a scene where he can't decide which phone to get because none has 100GB memory.
@@iganpparamarta8813Or Monk’s Smartphone is a much older model because he stuck with the one with 10GB.
I dunno. Every time I'd watch, I'd be waiting for a Man in Black to blow his head off, lol....
@Reynism DX They did that; they had most of the cast come back, for a 3 - 4 minute reunion sketch. It was pretty good.
@@Backroad_Junkie K : it grows back?
3:25 I honestly thought they would go the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air route, like when Carlton was about to get married. Except, instead of the bride being revealed to actually be having an affair, I thought the bride here would be revealed to be an actual killer.
That was a different episode
@@slake9727There an episode where Monk interrupts a wedding, shouting that the bride is a killer, only to reveal it’s not the wedding he was looking for, yet the bride lets slip that she’s actually a killer, much to the groom’s shock and surprise?
I really miss this show, no joke..
Lmao🤣 when he had to use a wipe to clean the rail changer in order to save that guy's life .. He is definitely one of a kind !!😁
One of the FAV shows ever!!! Tony is such an amazing actor in this show....he make it!
It's a good thing Sharona loosened that lever!
3:44 I swear that always happens in a I have to stop the wedding plot. Busting in on the wrong wedding but it’s never not hilarious.
I always wanted to see Monk and Colombo solve a case together with a top star (Tom Hanks?) as the villain.
I just love the Monk character
I wanted to see Monk punch Vicki’s lights out and then flip the switch. A woman is a woman, but a cold-blooded killer is a cold-blooded killer.
And I figured that the train’s engineer/captain/whatever would’ve seen non-railroad-industry people handling the switch and stop the train out of suspicion of foul play.
In regards to the second comment, it can take a train up to a full mile to come to a complete stop, even with emergency brakes. The engineer probably did start braking as soon as the line switched.
In real life, the engineer would have started braking as soon as the car came into view, and we would have heard the airbrakes hiss and brakes squeal. they also would have been laying on the horn. As for the switch, those are typically padlocked for the explicit intention of preventing tampering from nonrailroad employees. they would have needed a bolt cutter to access it first. Lastly, since the train was able to pass over the switch without slowing down, and it wasn't a high speed switch, if the engineer had started braking when they should, they could have stopped before the car without needing the switch. That last part is probably a safety feature in a meta context, when this stunt was being filmed.
If couldn’t no reason Sharona couldn’t
there needs to be more episodes showing monk's life after getting past some phobias. did he get past all of them? did he let himself love again?
There is a Monk movie coming out in December and from what I've read Monk has his phobias back, because of the quarantine in 2020.
"Hurry up, but not too fast. Hurry up, but not too fast!!" 😅😅😅😅

@@nestormozqueda6355 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Vicki's actress died at only 30 years, RIP.
Of pneumonia, pretty wild.
@@830toAwesome I think it was a complication of diabetes. Still sad though
She was misdiagnosed at a few hospitals, one even told her to just go home and take Tylenol....? It started on February 12, 2005 and by February 16th she was dead! Hard to believe that these hospitals couldn't be sued? 🤔🤔🤔
@@keithbannister9271 sad
Love, love, love Monk!
Very well written, well acted and always is worthwhile. Mr. Shaloub (sp?) is absolutely
phenomenal!!!
They need to bring back Monk!!! We need to sign a petition to get the show monk back!
I'm in😎😎😎😎
Maybe but does Tony Shalobe(?) want to do it?
@@akmi1931 I believe in February of last year in an interview he said the producer of Monk we're in talks of making a movie series that was going to be based on covid 19 pandemic. I believe it's going to be released on Prime video or Peacock.
i'm fine with only a one-off movie. The show had a good conclusion to its main arc
@AKmi well they could do monk in his teens or start at his first day in the police department
@ 6:16- 6:25 you can see Sharona's car waiting for their cue
It’s funny because you see the lights come on too 😂
When they bust into another couple's wedding, AWKWARD!
3:26 -- Best thing that could have happened to them at their wedding. Now they have a great story to tell about the Day They Got Married.
If that train was actually diverted onto another track in real life, it could have caused a train crash.
Would have been cool if this show collaborated with Psych. Heck even Burn Notice, but I know that one would have been way more far fetched
Well Michael Westen was in an episode of Monk
There was that ad I watched on RUclips with Shawn Spencer and Monk... Cheetos, I think. I actually thought they'd be taking it further with a crossover...
@@TheAlps36 that is very true but unfortunately as a villain. Still an awesome episode ☺️
Question: is there any chance that by switching the train's tracks, they could have led it on a collision path with another train?
hmm...
Yes
Potentially, however the train would have noticed the change and stopped (as soon as it was able) and radioed to any other trains on the track to tell them that they got diverted and were now on the wrong track.
Yes
@@digifreak90 IRL the train would almost certainly have already started stopping when it saw the car on the track, in order to have some slight lesser impact/give people moments more time. It can take over a mile for a train to stop even when just going 55 miles an hour.
1:44 In the black&white flashback scene that guy behind the counter who's called a clerk by Monk, looks suspiciously like Randall from Kevin Smith's "Clerks" movie which was shot in black&white. Coincidence? I think not!
Wait so.....anybody in America can just go ahead and change trains to different tracks whenever and wherever they feel like it?!? I mean, call me crazy, but that just sounds like an extremely dangerous thing.
This is a TV show, it is fictional
Where can i find those episodes? I loved watching it on tv but i dont know were i can rewatch it
It's on peacock and Amazon prime
This is one handsome man. I watch Monk regularly. My 2 favorite episodes are the one where the internet UFO enthusiasts congregate around Monk thinking he is a leader from another planet.. The next is when he adopts a murder victim's dog and eventually loves her as a family member. Love that Monk.
Superman doesn't hold a candle to Adrian Monk. He's da man!!!
Would have been funny if Monk had diverted the train into Sharona's car. Then Kevin can buy her a new car for saving his life.
It's pretty rare to have all 1 and 2 digit addresses.
Even rarer for them to be the lottery numbers..!
Really great fascinating show
Mr. Monk, genius and strong
Based on where Sharona parked the car, the rerouted train should run over their car instead.
Yeah, I said the same thing!
I see where you get that impression, but I don't think so.
She stops her car on the other side (the safe side) of the crossing gate (the red-and-white arm that comes down to block traffic when the train is near). All the tracks are within the gates.
Awesome you get the dumbest comment of the video award. The train according to you was turned onto the road instaed of railroads wow
Changing that trains direction may hypothetically kill more people when/if it crashes into a stopped train on that set of cracks
...That's a young Tommy!
Imminent death and danger but Monk still has to wipe down the lever 🙂.
3:31 Way to ruin their special day.
Monk dons his super hero pose
Since when are train switches still manual and unlocked? So dumb... So anyone can switch train tracks... sure thing. 😂
This happens in so many movie, rerouting a train to save one life is very much the trolley problem. Imagone there is a passenger train gaoing th other way that now has a freight train barreling toward it. Chnaging a train's path is treated as the end of the problem in movies and tv shows when it's teh beginning of a potentially fatal multi-train crash.
It's just a TV show.
Ignoring the fact that the train would stop as soon as possible once realizing it is on the wrong trajectory, you are ignoring the fact that two trains hardly ever travel parallel to one another.
Seriously. Just smash a car window, put in neutral, and push it out of the way.
The trolley problem is a hypothetical.
Trains have brakes and can tell when they're being out on the wrong line, or radio ahead issues...
That's not how this all works. Trains communicate and know what lines they're on.
My only criticism of this show. A single, tiny flaw in logic.
If Monk had burst into a wedding, declaring "The bride's a killer! ... oops, wrong wedding"
Everyone would have busted up laughing.
Why didn't they laugh?
Actually... there's one possibility. If she really was marrying him for the money, and everybody knew it...
... I'm so sorry
Since when are there travel brochures in the Justice if the Peace’s office?
Episode from 2004 mentioned $43 million jackpot. The 2023 value is over $70 million.
"I love your dress" !
A CLEAN wonderful program.
so...where did they send the train?
Whos here all hyped for the Monk movie?!?!
That's not even close to how he put the newspaper in the trash can...
That poor actress
Putting train on wrong track can definitely not kill 100s or 1000s of people with millions worth of property damages
Seei,g the speed of the train he probably would not have died, unpleasant experience, but alive.
Update: Monk movie in production
Would Monk put a newspaper in the trash can with part of it sticking out given his neatness phobia?
Did Monk folded the paper improperly? 😅
I love youu❤️😍
Wait..he didn’t fold it neatly?
I suspect because he was frustrated
I hated Kevin. I was so glad when they finally killed him in a later episode but not before he ruined it and every one he was in.
Did they almost derail a moving train? Wtf?
Wait, Kevin's straight?
She'll get the awitch, RIGHT
Food for the algorithm 👍
The worst part about the wedding is that priests/pastors are very serious about this sort of thing. If someone objects (even as a joke), there will be no wedding that day.
He's not a priest or pastor, though. He's a Justice of the Peace.
