- That Robert Trujillo's bass solo before For Whom the Bell Tolls intro from Big Day Out (live Sydney 2004). I wonder how many took bass because of it. Download tabs (Guitar Pro and PDF) on our Telegram here t.me/AndrewVasylenko/200

should've played in the crab position like rob
I would love too, but camera angle didn’t allow
@@AndriyVasylenko understandable
Rob is peak evolution, because everything eventually evolves into crab
Go russia!
@@recipoldinasty nah bro 💀
He was the shredder star of the band when he was in Infectious Grooves. I have yet to see him demonstrate in Metallica how talented he really is.
Punk It Up is awesome!
Big fan of their cover of the immigrant song
Groovy, funky, heavy, terrific.
Metallica has been blessed with terrific bass players.
Was lucky enough to see this live. I was only 8 and the bass was vibrating up into my chest. gave me the weirdest feeling. Always thought Rob was a damn good bassist.
This solo made me learn that adding low end notes to a solo makes it sound delicious.
Great job and stay strong Andriy 👍
Holy Crab! This is BASS solo we love🔥
That dirty solo from live Sydney 2004. I wonder how many took bass because of it. Download tabs (Guitar Pro and PDF) on our Telegram here t.me/AndrewVasylenko/200
I saw Rob live in Suicidal Tendencies (Lights, Camera, Suicidal tour) when I was thirteen. To see one of my favorite bass players join Metallica ten years later was amazing.
Amazing! You can check the Solo he plays before For Whom the Bell Tolls in Seoul '06. That is gorgeous!!
Great, now that you reminded of that solo, I won't be doing anything else for the next 12 hours but to listen to it on repeat.
Cool cover, btw!!
Awesome job. Especially love the finger stretch before you begin which let’s us all know you are about to shred that thing.
Love it bro..I hope you and y9ur family are safe and well
Rob is awesome. Fantastic bassist
AMAZING!
Nice
Sick tone
metallica should let rob do a bit of slap in the next album
Yeah just like Jason in Cure(Load).
I took up bass after seeing Rob live back in his ST days. I still play IG Violent and Funky as a warm up.
Amazing
Love the Bass color and look 😊
I remember seeing my uncles crappy cam footage of this solo when he went in 04, and ever since then I never wanted to put bass down
Honestly the version from Download 04 with Joey from Slipknot was also a cool version of the solo
One of my favorite Trujillo solos. This is Bb tuning right?
Tuned to E flat to harmonize with the Anvil on Bell Tolls.
I’m saying B flat because it’s a 5-string lol
@@RiveBassCovers I have a 6-string! 😏
@@Fireglo tuned to E flat because that’s their live tuning, if you want to harmonize with the bell you have to tune about a quarter step up from E
@@Fireglo *to accommodate James’s voice
So Funkyyy!
that's a beautiful bass. i have a cort 5 string myself that i love. what model is that?
Hey there, fantasctic job! What kind of Effect did you use here?
what pedals did you use to get that amazing tone?
Yup baby
My favourite bass solo.
bro
What effects are u using?
Voice of the Soul : Death…we need it and I’m certain you can do it. Chop that together…1 mil views
Hello there, Andriy Trujillo!
supreme crab leader
Who knows what Metallica would still be doing without Rob
They’d probably quit the band or have bob rock be the bassist or attempt to audition again then not find another and quit entirely
Alt title: the bass solo that made me (Andriy) learn bass
Good old Jungle Essence :D
I definitely expected "My lame is Lucifer please take my hand"
Idk why but it has vibes of Black Sabbath's intro to N.I.B.
probably cuz of andriy's tone
Killer!
I hope you have electricity there.
Stay strong!
How are you doing dude? how is everything?
2nd is wayside intro bass
Honestly they should pick you, you literally cliff reincarnated
is this bass good and how much did it cost?
sounds like something geezer butler would write
Sounds like Geezer influence
That's cute, compared to cliffs dual Bass solo in Orion useing music theory. Very cute
It still good
If rob is not good enough why metallica make him as they bass player even so many good bass player.
Yes. All the amazing stuff Rob has done, but pentatonic noodling is all he needs for Metallica
Les Claypool could make this look like some basic shit 🤣, but Rob is a solid fit because of his stage presence & enthusiasm
Basic doesnt mean shit, and Les also have some pretty basic basslines
This is really not a difficult solo at all. Basic blues stuff with a bit of fuzz on it. I don't really rate him very highly as a bass player; he's more show than being inventive, but, I bet this solo section wasn't even the best thing he played during that set. It's solid and standard, and that's about it... but, hey, if it gets more people interested in picking up a bass to begin with, or playing music in general, then that's the positive I think that comes from it.
🤘🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🤘
As good as it is it's still no where near Cliff. Wish they had chosen Less C when he auditioned after Cliff's loss. The riffs they could have written together would have been awesome intelligent metal like where Cliff was taking them with Orion
That bass looks like a Les Paul's steroid injected big brother.

And this proved them wrong to choose Rob or Kirk... xD
Do that without a metronome, and Metallica will make a Blackened vodka.
Stay safe and Slava Ukraina
🇺🇦🤘
I mean he's an awesome bass player, but this solo doesn't prove it...
Your playing was amazing, but that is seriously one of the weakest bass solos I have ever heard, can anyone explain why this is amazing?
Awful distortion
I don't like his tone, it's too fizzy
Don't agree. The solo didn't fit Metallica at all especially not as an intro to Bell Tolls. Felt so out of place.
Bad take. Its Pentatonic/blues based scales Roberts playing, like in sabbaths n.i.b and ALOT of metallica riffs and solos. Jason would also solo things using similar scales before songs. Your take just isn't accurate.
Totally agree.
I honestly find most of Metallica’s bass parts feel very forced. Even the classic Cliff and Jason bass parts seemed forced and out of place. And don’t get me started about how awful distortion sounds on a bass guitar. 🤮
@@no_problem8023 the difference being that the bass solo in n.i.b fits the song perfectly. This solo going into Bell Tolls just didn't sound right at all. The two didn't blend well.
@@seanwechsler6783 i'm not sure Cliff ever used distortion he used wah and fuzz mostly.
@@Fireglo I thought the “fuzz” was the distortion. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Was there
Kinda reminds me of N.I.B intro
Weak.
