  • This video was made to help assist travelers to the O’hare airport wanting to reach downtown chicago using the local train stationed at the airport ( called the blue line train). The video starts in the baggage claim area and walks you to the location of the station ,then follows boarding and riding it downtown. I hope you will find the tips useful that I have learned from riding this route over many years.

    This is Astonishing! I told my son "don't worry I can get there no problem" which I could And have done. He's near Logan Park (ok Belmont not so glamorous) but I hadn't taken it From O'Hare And it was 5 years ago and I'm over 60.
    My bag just shrunk by 50%. It was only big because last time I bought out the Monarch Thrift Store. Ty!!!

    Also possible to take Metra from remote parking garage/rental center. Also it is the Blue Line, not Blueline.

    • @TravGuideChannel
      @TravGuideChannel  Год назад

      Yes, there is a Metra train option ( NCS) near the multimodal facility. It will take you directly to the union station. The blue line runs all night every day and the Metra has a limited schedule. Blue line from O’hare is $5 for a single ride ticket, the Metra NCS is a little more.

    • @TravGuideChannel

      Yes, it is called blue line, not blueline. Title is correct but if in the video it says different, then it would be in error.

      Good points. And for anyone interested in Metra , I do have a video on it.

    When you reach the top of the steps just keep walking in that direction and you'll find Union Station just a couple of blocks down that road - that's if memory serves me correctly.

    Hi. Is it safe to take the Blue Line from Jackson (Downtown) to O'hare at 11PM? Best Regards

    • @TravGuideChannel
      @TravGuideChannel  Год назад +2

      I have not boarded there, but the loop area at late night i have walked and you can expect to see homeless people and at times odd characters. The station itself should be staffed and has cameras, but the homeless like to hang out at the blue line because its open and runs all night. They will approach people asking for money. Personally i never had any problem with them, but some do act strange.

    Question? Im travelin there this week and I need to get to Waukegan to my hotel on Lakehurst Road would that require me to take another train or will there be a train that will take me near there?

    • @TravGuideChannel
      @TravGuideChannel  Год назад

      Waukegan is in the north suburbs, the cta train doesn’t go to the suburbs. There is a metra train that can take you to waukegan. I believe it is the Union pacific north line.

    were there elevators inside the station?

    • @TravGuideChannel
      @TravGuideChannel  10 месяцев назад +1

      The domestic terminals do have elevators that take you to each floor, even down to the tunnel area

    • @TravGuideChannel
      @TravGuideChannel  10 месяцев назад +1

      If you’re talking about the CTA stations, I cannot say for sure if every station has elevators. Some stations I believe do have them, but I can’t say if they’re available at all the stations. If you’re looking to ride the train and know the specific station, it might be good to call their customer service number to check and see if they do have elevators at that station.

    Does the train stop at every station? How will i know if the train is going to stop at location i need to get off at

    • @TravGuideChannel
      @TravGuideChannel  Год назад +3

      The blue line usually runs and stops at every station, unless it’s running express, and they will let you know that is the case. They announce at each upcoming stop, also there is a map on each car of the train that shows each stop on the route.
