That's a good question. I'm doubting it. I truly loved that group and I felt like I grew with them during their career. So heavy with the dance and freestyle, then they got more mainstream and even adult contemporary while still sticking to the dance stuff. I do remember when "As Long As I can dream" came out, I actually thought it was a country song. Had no idea it was Expose.
Seduction kicked ass. The term *Freestyle* *music* didn't really exist back in 1989. It was called dance music, club music and most specifically Latin hip hop music. Only with time and perspective did artists & groups like Expose, Stevie B, The Cover Girls, Seduction, Pajama Party, Cynthia, Johnny O, Noel, George Lamond, Sweet Sensation, etc have their music known as Freestyle music, by the mid-late 90s is when this music was called Freestyle, even though, and I can't stress this enough, Freestyle began around 1983/1984 with Shannon 'Let The Music Play' and Nayobe 'Please Don't Go'. Seduction's biggest hits (Two To Make It Right and Heartbeat) is considered Freestyle music but those tracks were also somewhat blended with House (at least some mixes) plus they had R&B and pop songs as well. -- The Cover Girls, Pajama Party and Seduction represented New York's female Freestyle groups while Expose, Sweet Sensation and Laissez Faire represented Miami's female Freestyle groups. Seduction was a really talented group of ladies with great music.
I still love me some classic freestyle! It was maybe the first time that Latin-influenced music made it into the pop mainstream. Most of those artists were Puerto Rican or Cuban as freestyle emanated mostly from New York and Miami. In the summer of 1990, it was everywhere and I loved it! Also- Let's not forget TKA~ :)
LOVED Freestyle then and now. They are all still performing their hits. The Cover Girls, Sweet Sensation, Shannon, Taylor Dayne, Exposé, Lisette Melendez, the list goes on. I agree that the "oriental" word was cringe, but these were different times. Also I don't think she called house music R&B. Their album does have both house and R&B beats, and their producers were house-based producers who also made R&B beats for them.
1989: Seduction is on top with "You're my one and only"....public blind about Martha Wash. Later on: fraud exposed. Martha's fans increase. 2022: Everyone floods Seduction videos just to talk about Michelle Visage. So much for the Martha love, LOL. How sad
Makes me proud to see Michelle here calling herself Michelle Visage which is just her carrying her Ballroom upbringing into the mainstream world on the low.
It's pretty cool that nowadays they don't label us as just Mexicans or Puerto Ricans since latinos come from different countries where Spanish is the official language.
C+C produced this group. The album was good and still is great to listen too, but i think they were a little to big in their heads to say they wanna work with other producers on the next album considering C+C wrote their songs and MARTHA WASH Sang and gave them their first hit. All they did was just lip sync in the video. Which is why they really didnt wanna talk about that song and video and were quick to movie on from it. They did sing the other two hits they had n the album. All were talented but Marthas voice and C+C gave them their launching so they should have given them credit and shout out during this interview.
Ouch. It would've been interesting if Seduction got to work with big time producers at the time, like LA Reid & Babyface, Teddy Riley, Dr Dre, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis or Heavy D.
I love when Michelle named a bunch of other queens as her inspiration, and Madonna as also “high on her list”…bitch please, it’s Madonna first, second and third for you! You look like Madonna, you dance like Madonna, you even talk in the interview like Madonna, ain’t nobody being fooled here 😂
I thought she said Madonna last, and yes she immullated her alright, but her first answer was the queen lady tee, and that's respect, and I love her for that
Michelle ripping off Madonna here lol. Ya know it’s crazy cause I was very much into music during this time, owned a bunch of cassettes and watched MTV every day, and I don’t remember Seduction. I think they were one of those groups who got more popularity from their songs than videos. Dime a dozen group, so people just jammed to the songs but didnt care about the members.
@bridgettemezlini1981 So true. I recently sent a Seduction audio clip to a friend who loved the song (Two to Make It Right) back in the day. Her response: “Loved that song! Who was it?” It really didn’t matter to her who it was. She just liked the song.
I remember they kicked Idalis out of the group because she said something racist. During an interview with the group they were asked how the group got together idalis said "it was hard finding a pretty black woman that could sing to join the group."
@bacardi123 you're absolutely correct. attorneys on madonna's side ordered michelle to cease and desist mopping her look. guess meesh did it better. lol

Rupaul just said she was in this group and i had to look her up❤
1989: Seduction is on top with "You're my one and only"....public blind about Martha Wash.
Later on: fraud exposed. Martha's fans increase.
2022: Everyone floods Seduction videos just to talk about Michelle Visage. So much for the Martha love, LOL.
How sad
I’m here for his hairpiece
wow i didnt know it was fake
Lol that middle one isn't that smart.
Three ethnics and she states Puerto Rican as one.
I think what she meant to say is Hispanic in general
Grayson Maximillian Phoenix - Also when Dallas used the word “Oriental” to describe someone who is asian. Wow - stereotypical ideals of the 80’s.
@BennyB5555 And “Anglo-Saxon” to describe a Jewish girl.
It seems like they don't get along. Idk. When he asked about Europe I love how it sounded shady when Michelle says "not as a group"
Most likely they couldn't.
You look like Madonna, you dance like Madonna, you even talk in the interview like Madonna, ain’t nobody being fooled here 😂
True dat 😂
@hugomarquez3189 💯
I thought she said Madonna last, and yes she immullated her alright, but her first answer was the queen lady tee, and that's respect, and I love her for that
hahaha 2:30 April & Idalis totally bored by Michelle's life story :D
I can see why madonna sent a cease and desist to michelle. Lmao. Luv herrrrr
Right?!?
Why, because of her looks
Michelle ripping off Madonna here lol. Ya know it’s crazy cause I was very much into music during this time, owned a bunch of cassettes and watched MTV every day, and I don’t remember Seduction. I think they were one of those groups who got more popularity from their songs than videos. Dime a dozen group, so people just jammed to the songs but didnt care about the members.
@bridgettemezlini1981 So true.
I recently sent a Seduction audio clip to a friend who loved the song (Two to Make It Right) back in the day.
Her response: “Loved that song! Who was it?”
It really didn’t matter to her who it was. She just liked the song.
I remember they kicked Idalis out of the group because she said something racist. During an interview with the group they were asked how the group got together idalis said "it was hard finding a pretty black woman that could sing to join the group."
ummm she said that about asians in THIS interview, did you even watch the whole thing?
@@mcnee1ce she was talking about Asians
In this interview she said something like “They were looking for an Oriental.” Yikes.
Oh well, she couldn’t really sing anyway.
@bacardi123 you're absolutely correct. attorneys on madonna's side ordered michelle to cease and desist mopping her look. guess meesh did it better. lol
@thedarthflagger At the time, she was widely regarded as a “Madonna wannabe.”
he was very handsome
Yes, but his style sucks.
@fabianferrada2501 RIP
Michelle is the blonde girl
en vogue was influenced by alot of girl groups that came before them so dont throw shade!
En Vogue was practically it’s own category to which no one could compare.
@JRLOC you mustn't of been around in the 80s and you don't know en vogue at all cos they themselves have stated in their interviews mainly dawn who their girl group inspirations were. Note, just cos groups weren't commercially successful doesn't mean they didn't have an impact and weren't influential bcos there were plenty of 80s girl groups...
