    Picked up a white GF2 last week for $20. Works great and fun little camera along side my E-PL1. I use all 6 of my Pentax Auto 110 Lenses on the GF2 and it works out amazingly! Great video man!

    Brought this camera on its day. I regretted after a while. And I stopped using it in about 2014.. I never been happy with the camera. I wanted a light camera because of back issues etc . Even got an electric viewfinder. Watching your video made me embrace what I have and start using it again. Mine is black even with a half brown case that has a full brown (I doubt is leather) case. So I will try to enjoy it. It is not worth selling it.. Thanks m

    I have a Gf5 that I got for free. It's probably roughly the same as the Gf2- it works great. I only wish it had an electronic shutter option as the shutters get tired on these after only 20K shots. "It only has contrast AF" you said... same as the GH6!!!

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  2 года назад +1

      Yeah It's the first Lumix I've owned, my only other mft was Olympus and I only pounced on this because it was so cheap. I mentioned the af because you know how people tend to get excited about pdaf and dpaf 🖖😂

    For the video sequence, what software do you use for post? Do you increase the bitrate? It looks cinematic in quality. Also I’m guessing you shoot in raw? Thanks in advance.

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  9 месяцев назад +2

      I use Davinci resolve to make my videos and I added the black bars to give that more cinematic look. In terms of bitrate I didn’t upscale anything but I did add some stabilisation to the gf2 clips and yes, all the images are raw and edited with the exception of the scene filter modes I showed 🖖

    Hey David! Would you prefer the GF2 over a PL2 or something?

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  3 месяца назад

      I haven’t used the PL2 but I do have the pen mini which is basically an EPL3 and I had the EPL3 itself a few years ago. From an image quality standpoint, they’re all pretty much the same but when using the pen mini I did miss the touch screen and nicer body feel of the GF2🖖

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  3 месяца назад

      Yeah I always shoot raw if the camera is capable. It just gives a clearer picture of how flexible the images are if you choose to edit. The scene modes I think were jpeg only
      (I can’t check because I gave the GF2 to a friend), but everything else was raw.

    Brilliant little camera for a bargain price, the lens alone must be worth 4x what you paid for it.
    Nicely put together video and the clips showed the capability of the gf2 well, images were spot on.
    I picked up a gf6 for £45 very similar but has the selfie flip screen and 16mp sensor of the gx1.
    Mine was mint, came boxed with the sunhood etc.
    I used it until I sold it on for £180 ⚠️😲
    I've just bought another mint Lumix G3 for £50 I think has the same 16mp sensor as the gf6, they're a really nice camera, especiallynlike the EVF and it has the same 14-42 g vario lens.
    I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces.
    I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another photographer? 👍

  • @GrumpyTim
    @GrumpyTim 2 года назад +1

    That's a very algorithm satisfying title David, should get loads of views!!! I really can't believe how cheap you got that camera, that's one heck of a bargain. I hadn't realised quite how basic the GF2 was, the lack of an EVF and the automatic only video would be a deal breaker for me, however, as a very cheap camera for shooting some B roll - say you were working on a tight budget and wanted to shoot some simultaneous footage from a different angle or whatever, then you couldn't get much more budget friendly than that.

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  2 года назад +1

      Yeah I changed the title for that very reason, it pretty much went unseen for the first day 😂
      I wasn't specifically looking for the GF2 but at that price I wasn't going to turn it down. I've actually got my eye on the omd em5 line of cameras in micro 4/3rds because not only do they have some weather sealing and such, they're probably my favourite looking camera in the Olympus line up.
      The GF2 is a great photo camera but for video you'd probably get better results with a phone. Have a great weekend, Tim 🖖

    • @GrumpyTim
      @GrumpyTim 2 года назад +1

      @@DavidFlowerOfficial When those OMDs came out I just fell in love with them, so long as it was the Black and Silver version that looked so much like the old OM10s and so on - if I'd had the money I'd definitely have bought one. Same with the Fuji X100 - I guess I'm just a sucker for those 60s/70s styled cameras!!!

      Yeah when I eventually get an em5 it's gotta be the black and silver version 😁

    I got a fully functioning (but a bit beat up) GF2 + 14mm f2.4 + 40mm F1.7 for $85 including shipping & tax so deals are out there. Lack of control dial & physical function buttons makes it an ergonomic disaster tho. Virtually everything is controlled via the touchscreen including the aperture but it's a real PITA.

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  Год назад +1

      That’s a great deal. It’s ergonomically a bit like a brick, but I don’t mind the single dial on the back. I have mine set so that it’s SS primarily then just push it in to switch the same dial to aperture. It’s a bit slower than the dual dials on my Olympus EM10 mkii, but it gets the job done without messing about on the rear screen. Thanks for watching 🖖

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
