That last part involves a loss of perceived privilege. It was either you or Wisecrack who talked about the America Reagan promised white men, that they were entitled to the good life and it was those annoying poor not-white people is why you can't have nice things. We're seeing the same thing today. You salary is low not because of corporate greed but because businesses would rather hire someone here "illegally" and think that mass deportation will fix things even though child labor and prison labor is on the rise to replace other low-wage workers. It's easier to blame the powerless than the powerful I guess.
