Ochre froglights could look nice instead of the glowstone for the sandy bits. Also, for the shulker colors, maybe change the teal/light blue to just the regular shulker color or purple.
I think ochre froglights might be the best option to light up the beach areas on the island. There must be some hermit who sells it in the shopping district. Great video as always Beef!
Beef, if you need to check that something is lit up, a few of the other hermits use an overlay that displays the block light on each block in green if mobs won’t spawn and red if they will, helps a lot with checking for spawn spaces
Mini Hud is one of the mods I know some of the Hermits use than can show light level on blocks. I like using it because it also provides a more use friendly F3 menu
There's also a vanilla tweak now, which I'm sure is on the server. Probably easier to get into if he's not used to using minihud. It can be a pain with conflicting keybinds
Yes, I was about to agree with the glass idea as well! Maybe to keep the waterfall effect he could do... idk, something with blue glass? Not sure how to make that work in a way that would still block off the cave...
Hahaha Joe and Quinn are such a delight when they randomly drop by. For your concerns about Three Fox Hol--err, I mean, Three Waterfall Cavern, maybe use horizontal chains and walls/fenceposts (not sure how the chains interact with either of those tbh) to just kind of cordon the areas off where people shouldn't go? Could cheekily draw attention to that oooone little teeny crevice you were thinking of hiding stuff in.
For the ravine you could simply fence it and add like a viewing platform to look down in it or a bridge to cross it. To light the sand areas you could use torches on fences that are kinda like tiki torches
This may not fit the style of the island that you're going for, but I think it could be cool if there was an old, ruined TCG arena somewhere on the island that had some leftover item frames on the board where you could place cards for the players to take. You could also maybe have some leftover shulkers in the arena where you could put some cards.
Beef, the only issue i see with leaving that big gap ipen like that is what if someone falls in it ? Or is knocked off into it. Any cards they have will be left down there
As soon as I heard Iskall was back, and saw that all the orange and a lot of green wool was gone, I immediately thought, he’s got to be making a giant carrot. We’ll see…
You can always come into the lower room from behind the portal. Can make it an iron door too, make it only openable from the outside. As for the ravine, I'd make cover the opening at the bottom with glass, then flood it with 1~2 layers of water on the glass
I love this Beef. The concept is great, your joy in what you are doing and the size of this is making me feel like I could make something similar!! Thanks for the content.
I like the glass idea, leaving a gap right where the waterfall is - or even place water sources directly under the glass to continue the waterfall effect through blue glass.
The Drowned zombies who came to visit you, had a good point, you should not ignore them, they can and will come to meet and greet players if they have a chance
If you wanted to add little rocks in the sandy areas, the light gray carpet you used in the caves should work well to cover the glowstone and blend in with stone/andesite 🤓
Love the changes you've made already! I think replacing the shroomlights underneath the shulkers with yellow froglights would look a bit nicer and not stand out as much. Great work :3
12:55 I like that house, it just needs some support and a wooden passage instead of the dirt one. And you could use barrels as part of the pillars, it would be a discret way to hide something.
I would definitely glass over the ravine/cave. It'll make it clearly obvious that it's out of bounds, and also prevent players from falling/being knocked in. I think black glass would look really good, and you could even light up the caves a bit so it's more visible from above. For the waterfalls you can put in glass panes where the water is and then water log the panes. The waterfalls would look like they keep flowing but players couldn't pass through. Iron bars or trap doors would work too, and give the look of a grate with the water passing through it. Love the idea and the starting chamber looks great!
re: the out of bounds cave, you could put colored wool underneath the edges of the mouth of the cave so that theyre visible if youre about to fly in, but wont show on a map and then tell hermits not to play past the colored lines also the lit island looks so cool!
I was going to suggest the same thing! I think they're called ochre froglights? Pretty sure someone has farms for all the lights, but I can't remember who!
I like the idea of covering the entrance to that large cave with some glass, especially if you can keep the waterfall! it may still need some signs or additional instructions though.
With the ravine, I would probably put a layer of stone or dirt a little way down to cover it up, and then turn it into a little pond with the waterfalls flowing into it
I’m glad you realized that some colors in the battle royal might be too similar - as a color blind person I can tell you that’s not the end of the issue. Could you maybe use the armor stands mod to put different items above the shulker boxes?
that little island off the side isnt really big enough for a castle i thinkk. you could convert its into a volcano tho. would make for an interesting hiding spot as well
I was hoping that you were going to glass over the ravine and leave the water flowing through gaps in the glass. Then light up under the waterfalls flowing into the ravine with Glowberries. Ideas: Maybe put a Conduit under your bridge, and also in the deep river area near the ravine? They will help keep the drowned away, and allow Hermits to traverse the water without getting attached by drowned mobs.
Suggestions for battle royal: 1. Write out the words in the ocean "Hermitcraft TCG Baytle Royal". (As well as get rid of the other land masses. 2(A). Add powerup locations (lingering potions) for healing, and use announcements with custom records such as: "power ups spawning in 10 seconds". 2(B). Alternatively you could use beacons to provide buffs; Put the beacons in the ocean limiting their range to part/edges of the island (For instance only the beach areas is buffed by the beacon). 3. Add hidden areas by parlour, underground maze, puzzles, etc. To hide the more valuable cards 4(A). Use the same idea tango did with his "Decked out live progress map" to show how much time is remaining in the game by showing a progress bar going down.
I wanta say there's a mod you can put on to help with the lighting. I'd ask X, Doc, or Impluse about it. For the massive cave, I'd cover in in glass. People might be confused and not go into the caves. If you tell them there's nothing under grey glass though, they'll get it.
Hey Beef, about the ravine maybe you could make it look like a river, it would look cool and wouldnt be that much work, just some stone, dirt and gravel, maybe sprinkle some bone meal here and there under the water, and the hole problem would be gone
I think the glass barrier is a good idea. But to make the ravine fully blocked off so that there's no doubt that players shouldn't go down there, you could have the water flowing into a one block deep glass trench, but then also add water source blocks underneath the glass so that it still looks like the water is flowing straight through. That's probably overkill, tbh, but it could be a nice touch.
Really looking forward to seeing the hermits play this! Maybe you could put the staff entrance to the portal room (the room looks great by the way!) behind the portal? Xx
I wonder if more cave tunnels connected around the island would be cool, it might make the map too big for the amount of players too so maybe if it feels cramped after testing that could add some space. They wouldn’t go deep just flowy caves with some slightly larger rooms with water or drip stone or vines. Routed almost like an underground subway in terms of connecting areas underground. Could make exciting chases or sneaky routes
You could make the entrance drop down to a small antechamber hidden behind the portal. That way it's kinda hidden and doesn't interfere with the main chamber itself.
along with the colored shulker boxes above, you should have matching colored box's below for the Tributes to store their personal items before the match. inside the colored box's below is a matching set of colored leather armor. that's how players colors get assigned. when they go below they pick a box and that box becomes their color for match. you don't put down the box's above until right before the match when all the players are below. when the match is over the players take their box's with them to play the tcg game. then you put the box's back right before the next match...again while the players are below. that way the box's are fairly distributed and players cant strategize about what color they want because of the box location. like bloue is closer to the island...or red is closer to the ravine....etc.
You could, to make it easy for you put a 2tall by 1wide red stained glass border around the islands that arent the playable area and maybe lock a map with red covering the islands that wont be in the game.
If you want to keep the access to the underground of the starting circle permanently available, but not ruin the look of the ceiling/walls, maybe your access hatch can drop down below the spawn room and you lower the soulsand so that the elevator can also bring you up into the spawn room, without allowing players into the access hatch.
For the smaller island, it would be neat to have mobs on it. Kinda high risk, high reward. Have maybe some of the better cards on there. Put skeletons in boats or name tag zombies 🧟♀️ 🧟♀️ Maybe add the dig game in somewhere. Provide a golden shovel, put a couple of the ultra rare cards under ground 1 or 2 deep. Another high risk, high reward type deal. You could go look for some super rare, super good cards at the expense of running out of time and being stuck with mediocre cards. 12:14 Side note: you put a Grey wool down I stead of moss.
Joe and Quinns "Sing Song Ditch" is one of the best things, and I love when Hermits include it in their episode
Yeah that was amazing
And the way it was revealed was so funny with the audio going in and out and beef just confused 😂
+
Joe Hill song section was amazing 😂😂 Especially the Byeeeeee as the guitar fades away.
Ochre froglights could look nice instead of the glowstone for the sandy bits. Also, for the shulker colors, maybe change the teal/light blue to just the regular shulker color or purple.
If he did that it might be better to use light pink instead of magenta. Dark green could work too.
Most chefs know that the best mythical sausage is made from vintage beef.
I think ochre froglights might be the best option to light up the beach areas on the island. There must be some hermit who sells it in the shopping district.
Great video as always Beef!

I think you can just press F7
There's also a vanilla tweak now, which I'm sure is on the server. Probably easier to get into if he's not used to using minihud. It can be a pain with conflicting keybinds
I think you should cover ther ravine, glass could work, or you could make it a lake.
Maybe make a lighthouse on the island.
Yeah there are always going to be players who are oblivious and do not listen to instructions.
Yes, I was about to agree with the glass idea as well! Maybe to keep the waterfall effect he could do... idk, something with blue glass? Not sure how to make that work in a way that would still block off the cave...
You should ask Cub to make a little parkour area with a barrel at the top, maybe for ultra rares
Or bdubs to make it, the master parkour maker
The problem is that this would give them an advantage for knowing how to traverse it.
That Orange Wool callback unlocked memories I forgot I had
Is it one of his CTM series references? I figured it’d be from one of those but I can’t remember even tho I’ve rematches them all a few times already.
@@chasemorr4110 Milbee and MCGamer from the Mindcrack server days. They started a series together called Orange Wool.
I can barely remember the Orange Wool shenanigans from the mindcrack server, but I always crack up when beefs goes "orangeee woooooll"

To light the sand areas you could use torches on fences that are kinda like tiki torches

I think that the main reason Joe's pinball machine isn't finished is because of how much he goes out of his way to help people.
It's the journey

I made a wool farm like yours in an SMP with my friends, and used it to open my explosives shop "Bed Bomb and Beyond". The design worked great for me
Really great name 😂
@@mckrey The store design is a giant tnt block
Smart!

Glow lichen could be used on the beach or the shipwreck to help with lighting
Ochre froglights would also be less noticeable in the sand.
You can always come into the lower room from behind the portal. Can make it an iron door too, make it only openable from the outside.
As for the ravine, I'd make cover the opening at the bottom with glass, then flood it with 1~2 layers of water on the glass
Birch pressure plates might look decent on the sand to cover the glowstone. Either way, love the content Beef!
OMG that is a great idea! Over ochre froglights maybe instead of glow stone?Wow I can’t believe I never thought of that before, genius!
Yup, my thoughts exactly! Other than that if because it's redstone Beef feels it doesn't work, I feel white carpet can work too.
But those don't cover a whole block
@@derrickstorm6976 Still better than not
I love how Beef is brining the server together this season!
I love this Beef. The concept is great, your joy in what you are doing and the size of this is making me feel like I could make something similar!!
Thanks for the content.
Think you should definitely cover that with glass, but let the water flow over it and make the ravine into a glass-bottomed pond.
I was going to say the same thing. Have my upvote! 🖤
To light up the beaches you could also put torches on top of fences to make tiki torches
The way beef describes not wanting to do any half-assed work is hilarious. Love the attempts at pg you've done great for over a decade at it.
I love seeing Beef build. He is the embodiment of 'let me cook'
Sausage would be so happy to hear that you enlongated his bridge!

Great episode. Thanks for leaving Joe's and Quinn's greeting in the video. ❤❤
You should probably turn the ravine into a river, connect the already existing river up to the ocean. Could look nice
Orange WOOL!!! Nice throwback Beef.

You can hide the "worker's entrance" behind the nether portal, like Cub does with his maintenance area of Total Chaos.

ORANGE WOOOOOOL! Wow what a callback!
God... How long has it been since Orange Wool? Oh my god has it been like ten years?!? Man I hope those mind crack people are still doing good.
10:29 you should make like a bridge over the ravine, that would look really cool!
For the lights on the beaches I'd recommend either birch trapdoors or white carpets.
12:16 terraform the ravine into a sunken lake 😊 all you have to do is make a thin floor and let the water flow in.
12:55
I like that house, it just needs some support and a wooden passage instead of the dirt one.
And you could use barrels as part of the pillars, it would be a discret way to hide something.
You should get Grian to help you place pickles around the island for some extra lighting
I would definitely glass over the ravine/cave. It'll make it clearly obvious that it's out of bounds, and also prevent players from falling/being knocked in. 6:38 "beautiful" -Beef
"As crazy as a backdoor" is what we say in Dutch.
Beef .. download mini hud mod. it's best feature is the easy light level overlay!
In that ravine area, I think it would look cool to have like a glass viewing platform over most of it with a space around the waterfalls
With the ravine, I would probably put a layer of stone or dirt a little way down to cover it up, and then turn it into a little pond with the waterfalls flowing into it
You want it to all look by design. Then covering the cave with glass is perfect.
The big cave looks amazing, I think you should make it part of the game and just block off the other tunnels down there.
omg what a throwback with orange wool at 0:56 😂
With the beaches you can use sandstone slabs, they let the light through
Perfect, was my thought too
Only on bedrock, slabs do not let light through in Java

The island is shaping up quite nicely.
Hey Beef, maybe see if the hermits have any Ochre Froglights.. they seem a little better next to sand blocks :) hope this helps :)

To stop entry to the cave put a layer of water turning it into a lake.

Instead of the five fences on the bridge you could do the two on the sides and 3 gates in the middle. Then you’d get a small arch in the middle too!

For the giant chasm on the island, I think you could cover the opening and make it a big pond/lake
I love the light grey glass idea covering that cavern.

Ochre froglights might hide decently well in the sand
You can make a hidden entrance behind the map by using fence gates then placing the item frame on the fence gate.
I think it could be very cool with the glass in the cave!!
You could just wall up the caves and leave the ravine so you still have the cool waterfalls. :)
