LOVE that you did this introduction.... what a nice opportunity to thank you for all your efforts here. Loved this program - and have enjoyed so many of these episodes... thanks also for putting them in order! So great! Thank you again!
Glad you enjoyed it! Barry, I made a minor change with my primary RUclips channel some months ago which caused my replies to disappear. I really enjoyed reading what you wrote and greatly appreciate you. (Chase)
I sure would like to see all the episodes from season 1- all the way through. I was just a kid, but I remember my Mama, God rest her soul, loved this show and never missed it. Thank you!!!
TennesseeGirl, Thanks for sharing about you Mom, again. _Another World_ began in 1964. Sadly many of the very early years have very few episodes available anywhere due to they were not saved by NBC nor by Procter & Gamble for future viewing. Those of us later who were able to record them saved as much as we wanted or had tapes available for doing it. Like you, I wish more were available. 🙂 (Chase)
@Chase4everChase ok. Thank you for the information. I've subbed so I'll be watching them all. So many good actors in AW. My favorite was Felicia! I loved her character! Also I LOVED Ray Liotta!!! Happy New Year, Sir!

This was one of my all-time favourite shows. I was heartbroken when they cancelled it and then guiding light. It had been such a huge part of my life since I used to watch it with my mom. I still miss those shows. we are living in “Another World” now, that’s for sure. Crazy world. I much prefer the sanity of the soap opera.
@@Chase4everChase But when Frankie was murdered didn't the actress have a falling out with Jill Pheran phelps the soap killer..Alot of soap actors Did NOT like her..XD
On NBC daytime, this is or was the last show of "Another World" for ninety minutes at 1:30pm P/M/C; 2:30pm E. Beginning Monday, August 4, 1980, "Another World" cuts back to one hour and moved to 1:00pm P/M/C; 2:00pm E & the series premiere of "Texas" at 2:00pm P/M/C; 3:00pm E for sixty minutes.
Thomas, Thank you for commenting, and you sure are correct about this longer episode being the final 90-minute one--with all of the commercials removed. 🙂
Anyone else notice that Jerry walks in to the police station wearing the same shirt he was wearing when he arrived home and supposedly took a shower because the library AC went out. Hoped he would've changed shirts.
Steven, I totally missed that the numerous times I've watched this video. You nailed it. For those wanting to see it, click 4:54 for the mention of showering and wanting to change scene; then, click 27:04 for the scene where he enters the police station in that same shirt. (Chase)

Yes. Yes. This episode from Friday, August 1st (1980) was the final 90-minute episode of _Another World._ _Texas_ premiered on Monday, August 4th (1980), and _Another World_ returned to being 60-minute episodes. 🙂
Thanks chase so this must be the episode before bev moved to Texas. And chase I see Susan kieths cecille got what I call the bev treatment just Paige Marshall got. But on guiding light Mary Kay Adam's got it and Kimberly simms who was the, second Mindy. And chase Alan was hinting at that from the Richard bekins interview. But I consider that an honor if you were an actress who had to get the bev treatment whether iris or alaxandra Spaulding. Plus I enjoyed watching bev on Texas soften as iris with Alex wheeler Denis Carrington real dad. To bad In the later years with Carmen Duncan that was ignored. But considering bev never changed lines even if she had played the charecter bieng written Incorrectly something tells me behind the scenes she would have probably had an issue with the writing and said so to Micheal liabson but also Donna swajeski. And I think bev would have had a problem with the wardrobe complaints that was going on at aw in 1989 and continued until about 1992 Amongst other things. And something tells me bev would have warned Micheal liabson like she did with Jill at guiding light and if changes weren't made she would walk just like she did with Jill at guiding light years later. And chase I say that because in interviews bev McKinsey gave even back in 1980 and 1981 she was always a fierce advocate for proper working conditions for the actors and everybody on the set.
Gabriel, This particular episode was the last episode of the 90-minute episodes. The next airing on August 4, 1980, was the debut of _Texas_ where Iris became the lead character (played by Beverly McKinsey), and _Another World_ returned to being a 60-minute program. Thank you for what you shared. 🙂
@@Chase4everChaseI thought so I have watched a bunch of Texas episodes already from its debut up to when Gail kobe came in including the point where Jay hammer came in and took over the part of max bellman and Pam long came in. I would have to say I prefer how Texas looked when paul Rauch was, Ep and the coringtons wrote it. But I know they left around December 1980 to help create and write Capitol with John conboy who left y and r as, executive producer which of course started bill bells quest to kill Capitol. And if course Paul Rauch until Texas got canned was acting as an executive in charge of production until Texas got canned and Gail kobe got moved to guiding light where she pissed off Doug Marland in wanting to fire Jane Elliot and a lot of the cast. I am bringing up Jay hammer because of what Alan was talking about with Richard bekins because Jay hammer went to guiding light as fletcher reade and fletcher was a great charecter and of course is a huge guiding light and as the world turns fan but did not watch the NBC line up me started with ABC then NBC and CBS I was the guy by the 1990s who would use the remote and check out all 3 channels in between commercials but was too young when this aired as I was 2 years old in 1980. Lets say Amanda Cory was born a few weeks after me before the charecter got sorased In 1987 to an 18 year old. So let's say with vcrs and you tube writers and eps can't ignore history like that used too But something tells me even without you tube and the internet long term fans knew when history was bieng fudged by a writer or producer or a charecter was not bieng written correctly. Also apologies for one of my comments as I saw someone was commenting about Jill faren Phelps and yes she screwed up and made a lot of mistakes but their was a lot behind the scenes that lead to her bieng moved to another world from guiding light where she also made some huge mistakes with the biggest biejg killing Maureen buar and throwing in an extra stench factor with having Ed and Lilian Raines sleep together first. Kind of like John sharlene Felicia. But Jill also did a brilliant job at santa Barbara and got that show and it's ireveraverance and did a brilliant job during the time of the dobson mess and Mary Ellis bunim. And chase I was watching guiding light when the switch from Bob Calhoun to Jill happened and regardless of what Jill did there which was a lot of good the show was still watchable if anything it was during a lot Paul Rauchs time as ep and and a part of Micheal liabson and Ellen wheelers time as ep at guiding light it was not watchable. But I will say Jill's time as ep at aw it came close but to be honest the end of Micheal liabsons time was pretty painful and terry guinaris brief time amd the Charlotte savits Micheal Malone period was probably the most unwatchable. So anyway that's my thoughts is yes we can beat up Jill for her faults back then but at least Jill from her interview with Alan a few years ago when she realizes her mistakes will own up to them and I respect that. It was her stubbornness I think that caught up with her.
