Actually this mugen Ultimate MK Trilogy is based on a fan made hack of Sega Mega Drive or Genesis version of UMK3. That is why it is called the way it is called and the way it look.
@@BushyStallion You can also try that hack of Ultimate MK Trilogy for Sega. I believe it was done by the dude under the nickname of Kabal.. something. There is many cool hacks that modifies original rom of Sega MK games. So you might wanna look in to it. Cause who knows, maybe you can enjoy it too.
Me too. It's easily the best in the series and it's so hilariously unlikely since I can't think of any other arcade fighting ports where the publisher just went and overhauled the entire soundtrack for the fuck of it. Excellent move on their part.
I can agree with that too. I was a Nintendude as a kid so I was always of the opinion the Genesis/MD sounds crap. But it has charm in the low bit rate synth chip. How good is Street of Rage games music and sound.
Biggest difference with SNES and Genesis sound. The SNES sound chip had true sample play back, so it does sound more realistic. The Genesis sound generation is from a Yamaha sound chip commonly used in synthesisers. Although the MK voices are samples as well on the Genesis it is still processed through that same Yamaha synth chip, that's why it sounds the way it does and has that grainy character. The Yamaha chip is synthesising the voice samples with its synth engine.
Thank you! Was anxiously awaiting this video from you. Very glad you decided to get into some Mugen stuff lately. While there's a lot of goofy and trashy Mugen out there, some of it can be incredible. Great vid.
Wow that new tackle move from Motaro is actually pretty cool. NRS should refinitely give Motaro that move if they ever plan to remake Ultimate MK3 in the near future.
When I think of the Genesis hack "Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trilogy" that this was based on, it makes me wonder if with the ROM space, a good port of MKT can be done on the Super.
I much prefer the synth sound of the Genesis' YM2612 sound chip. The thing that always suffers in the sound department on the Genesis is voice samples. SNES was built to sample sounds. Genesis, not so much. Beyond that, the crisp, clear synth of the Genesis is superb. The MK1 Genesis original soundtrack is one of the greatest. Far superior to the arcade. Matt Furnis was on-point.
@@shinsmoke that isn't my point. We know they have the same stances. They just change the stances for the sake of changing them. That is the point, that they have the same stances as we remember them.
@@RealAlphaDrum Well, blame the ones from the MK MUGEN community that also play modern MK games. Ever seen a classic MK character in MUGEN with their move set from MK9 - 11 or their fighting stance from MK9 - 11? That also plays a part on why fighting stances change for classic MK characters in MUGEN.
That's definitely a "no" from me, dawg. I'm skipping any and every single Sega based mk game you play. I feel my ears begin to have abnormal reactions to the quality of these versions. lol
Having classic console music is a nice touch, I’d rock out to the Sega music for a change of mood. 🤘🏼🍻

Interesting fact. I never knew they had included different versions in this Komplete pack. It’s pretty cool though 👊🏼

Mortal Kombat Sega Genesis music is the absolute best across all the platforms and versions, hands down
fx n voices horrendous but music was fire! this from a snes owner
I like it how they kept the original with the gritty sounds.
But with new age added to it😊
I love the music I can listen to this for hours great port I want it lol
What’s not to love right? Lol thanks for the comment 🙏🏽
Wow this looks great..a tast of things to come....
Mk 1 Sega Music is my favorite.

Snes higher quality truer to life sounds especially voices but man i love the genesis music it just has a charm to it .

If that's what makes it awesome is keeping the Originality from each System.😊
I agree 👊🏼
The new smoke artwork at the end looks really cool.
I played the og version on keyboard
Mk2 smoke was my go to always

These hacks are way better than that MK1 crap that came out recently.
Lol I’ve heard that lately
This is awesome I hope they upgrad it more With more Sega original soand things like that😊

Such a well balanced version of the game ❤
Love your content darryl!
Thanks xafronica, I appreciate that! 🙏🏽
Finally I was waiting for you to play this 🔥👌
Ogggggg 🔥🔥🔥🔥 legendary mk game, awwww brings back good memories 😂
I need to start playing these hacks on my channel! I love these things and I miss Trilogy so much
that smoke BRUTALITY was nice. Yo do a vid where you do brutalities only>>>
When I think of the Genesis hack "Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trilogy" that this was based on, it makes me wonder if with the ROM space, a good port of MKT can be done on the Super.
can u do all the air combos and stuff you can normally do in umk3?

Muy buen video, amigo!! Abrazo desde argentina..
Thank you 👊🏼
Mugen MK definitely 🔥 never played but Smoke definitely looking cracked 😂
If you ever get the chance my friend you need to try some of these out, thanks for the comment 👊🏼
@BushyStallion I only used mugen for the street fighter aspect of things, but that was years ago, bro. That's why happy I found you bro 💪
Download link?
You gotta play the mortal kombat arcade edition on sega
So basically Smoke has Sonya's original MK3 animality except the color is red. Okay then...
How do I get this ? Would it play on a super console ?
He should have been Smokey the bear
Where can I download this?
How download game
So this is just a reskin of scorpion? Except for fatalities.
Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Genesis games !

I always thought voice samples sounded garbage on Genesis. But damn that Yamaha chip sure sounds sweet when it plays midi notation.
Personally, I have always been more partial to the SNES music/sounds. Cool version otherwise!
Nice

One thing I don't like about MUGEN in general is changing the character stances. Most look pretty stupid.
The mugen character developers only change them, cause in the vanilla MKT, a few characters have the same fighting stances.
@@shinsmoke that isn't my point. We know they have the same stances. They just change the stances for the sake of changing them. That is the point, that they have the same stances as we remember them.

I hate the way the Genesis sounds esp the grainy voices.
