    Did I read the graph correctly that indicated slightly more power in the standard mode, 2nd most in B and least in A, precisely the opposite one would suspect if anything?

      You read it correctly, but I wouldn't dissect the numbers that far - you're talking less than 0.4 hp. Well within the 'noise' of a dyno.

      I know that it amounts to less than 1/2 hp, but your point very well taken about the dyno "noise". Yet, I thought that the various ride modes and their corresponding dyno numbers were quite unusual. Thanks for the timely response!

      Good question!

      No exhaust needed , both fz and mt will to at 150 with decat bypass pipe and flash ..

    Weird that the US FZ10 seems to be losing 20% of its claimed crank hp. Everyone is right around 130hp here.
    In Europe they are closer to 150hp at the wheel. I don't get it.

      More like 138-140 hp in Europe. Still a bit lower than hoped for, however.
      At this point, the bigger question is why Yamaha publishes the same power rating for both the MT-10 and FZ-10. Clearly, they don't produce the same power (on the dyno at least).

      Could it be fuel grade? atmospheric conditions? there's certainly less humidity in northern europe (I'm in the UK) and temperature rarely goes above 80F.

      Good question. Looking at the shape of the curves, the FZ signs off whereas the MT keeps pulling. Exup? Timing? Will hopefully know soon...

    So my FZ1 with a flash and exhaust et.al. will murder this thing at this point?

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  8 лет назад +1

      In stock form, probably on the dyno. This seems to be in line with other US-spec FZ-10's, but down about 6-7 hp over the MT-10. Not sure where the differences lie (exup, timing, fueling), but it's interesting.
      The real question here is: Did Yamaha overrate the FZ-10 or does the traction control and check engine light tripped by the stationary front wheel reduce power? TBD...

      No will not .. Fz is more lighter and you cant make FZ10 hp even with exhaust and flash ..

      What's the WHP of an FZ1??

  • @LazyWaffleman

    Interesting, they must be inflating the power or advertise crank hp.

      It's just one reflash away from getting full power (and more), but yes, it is disappointing that Yamaha decided to restrict the FZ-10 (versus the MT-10) without passing that information along.

      160 crank Hp for Mt-10 makes 140 ish Hp at the wheel with %12 powerloss from gearbox and chain . But the Fz series are more restricted to 130 Hp. Ktm Super Duke makes 152 and R1 makes 160 at rwheel. Propoper dyno and decat you can get 150 rwp ...

    aww no torque curve?

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  8 лет назад +2

      Unfortuantely, no. Was pressed for time and couldn't get to an ignition source easily enough to pick up the RPM. Was able to back calculate a torque curve though...check out this thread for updates: mt10forum.com/threads/441-Ready-Set-Build-Stoltec-Moto-FZ-10?p=4063&viewfull=1#post4063
      Hope to post that calculated curve with some other data tomorrow.

    132 rwhp? WTF? Well, that's disappointing as hell. Aprilia Tuono or S1000XR...here I come.
