I am so very thankful for your channel! I just purchased a 1977 Sovereign Airstream to renovate and I felt very overwhelmed at first but thanks to your channel I am feeling more confident. Keep up the great videos 😊!!

That helicopter flying over is the rest of the world that is sitting at their desks working 8 - 5 wishing they could do what you are doing but don't have the courage to pull the trigger. My wife and I are purchasing our air-stream and starting the same project within the next few months. I'll be sending you messages with questions :) Love the videos!

Thats so good! Love the analogy. Thats awesome man, it is a blast and a challenge and there are moments of sheer terror of thinking, what did we do!?!? But that fades quickly when we think about how life will be. Send away I will do my best!

It is! If I were to do it again, I would get one of those white plastic painting full body suits that make you look like you are doing hazmat work.

Are there some Airstream electrical specialist that can put a plan together for what im wanting to do? Or should i just check with a local dealer? Thanks and great videos

Did you save your interior skins? If so, how are you going to clean them and paint them for re-using?

Did you number the skins, or how do you identify which ones go where later? I am getting ready to start removing mine as the subfloor has to be replaced.

I numbered them and took photos. Moving forward all my builds get new walls tho.

Just curious, did you decide to remove the vinyl from the panels after removing the skin? I see some skins removed in one video but not all. I was wondering if it would be better to remove it before or after skin removal. Since you have to drill out the rivets anyways and replace them, is it better? You'd get more flex on the aluminum pulling them off after, but if you control it properly I'd imagine its the same amount if not less work? I'll admit I've not been watching 100% of the video's as I have little time (promise I will go back and watch them all 100%). Figured I'd ask before your channel inevitably blows up.

Do it after! Lol. Doing 2 panels made me decide that it will be much easier to just lay it on the ground and do it that way. Less flex or dripping layed out on the ground, plus you can get the vinyl from behind the rivets. I had the thought of trying to do the roof and the vinyl stripper dripping in my eye and blinding me! Thanks for watching any videos, really appreciate the support and feel free to ask any questions, I may not have the answer but I will try!

Hey Ian, I noticed that from the outside you don't have Vista windows, but on the inside you have the shades for them built into the skin. What's up with that, or am I seeing things?

You are not seeing things. I am not sure if ours had vista windows at one point but they were not put back in when some of the exterior skins were replaced or if airstream just used the same interior skins and parts on them all. The openings to the window covers were riveted shut from the underside so I really do not know. I will most likely put new aluminum in those places or patch them or something. Not 100% sure yet.

I gave you thumbs down for that STARTLING music. The music itself isn't bad, but the volume is way to loud
