@@oldschoolautoupholstery The side skirts were about 3" too short all around. I was lucky the seat bottom was black, and we had a roll on the rack. I marked and took the skirt off the seat for a pattern, cut and stitched a new skirt. Reinstalled the fixed cover, and everybody was happy!
Since the shutdown, commercial upholstery supplier seemed to have lost control, worse than ever. I am literally learning the trade of Auto upholstery because I can't deal with these companies anymore. I hope you stay on YT to help me get through my learning curve. Have you done a vid about steaming techniques and wrinkle control yet? Cheers.

Isent foam thicknes also a part of the problem ? Another problem is when the seat are replaced with the incorect model seat. Anyway the owner wiĺl be happy in the end

I went to a junk yard for seats to a single cab dodge. the seats I pulled were from a extended cab. My son exchanged the track mounts and it fit great after that.

when things are made in china they are made to the spec of the company ordering - the middle man. china can produce anything you want, at any quality. but if someone orders the cheapest possible product because they are more interested in maximising their profits than providing a decent product, this is what happens. as the saying goes - shit in, shit out. also, are we sure that's the right cover? your last vid with the ill-fitting mgb seat turned out to be the customer ordering the wrong cover. look forward to the custom solution.

Simple. That’s the bottom cover on the back rest. Still, “kits” and the like are pathetic and you can’t expect them to fit - even if a pro tried to make one without the seat in hand. Just not the way it’s done right. Always learn something from your videos.
