The rule of thumb I was taught regarding hacksaw blades is to set the teeth for a pushing cut if the blade is in a frame, and pulling cut if only hand held (or in a single end handle). Pushing it when it's unsupported induces bending.
I guess when you are pushing the blade in a frame it is being pulled by the front of the frame, but it is also under a lot of tension to keep it straight.

I am using a hacksaw blade on my current project and it works well. I found that some masking tape on the end I was holding makes it easier to hold. I was even able to cut some 2" foam down to approximately 1" thick. Not perfect, but close enough.

I started using the hacksaw blades FIRST, then I started using a bread knife just just to speed things up, but if I ever need to use the hacksaw for ANY REASON, I now know and it’s an amazing backup/feeling.

Could you do a video on replacing seat foam when the seat cover is in good shape.
Why? I have a Ford E-450- based RV. The seat foam is too SOFT and isn't supportive at all.
What I'd like to know is what grade of foam to use to make it more like the trucks or simply pretty firm.
I'd rather not replace the whole seat with an aftermarket one just to get better foam. $$$$
    Thanks.
