- Finally in the latest version of iMovie for iOS we now have the ability to edit green screen footage on our mobile devices.
In this tutorial I am going to show you how to do it in just a few easy steps.
Before getting started make sure you have updated to the latest version of iOS 12.2. or above and also have updated your iMovie App to the latest version.
Also be sure to film your subject in front of a blue or green screen and then your all set to go! Хобби

That was so easy man. They managed to hide this option so well... :)
Yeah it is pretty straight forward once you know where the feature is and works so well.
@@Touchtechnologyreview yea but one thing that I noticed after creating two, three videos was syncing the voice.. it is slightly different like, when you export the video and play it, then you will notice, Voice comes a little first and lips are syncing late.
@@motivationalpodcast00 It could be due to a number of reasons. Check what the frame rate is on the timeline. 24fps or 30fps and see if setting to one or the other makes a difference. Other than that if you used the automatic audio sync feature in Premiere, I have found that sometimes it can be off by a fraction and I have to manually move the audio track and match it by looking at the visual waveform.
@@Touchtechnologyreview I understand. I will check it out. Thank you for the detailed reply. Appreciated 👍
Excellent 🙏
Thanks so much!
You make the best tutorials ever 😁

That was really informative. Thanks for the video. Great work!
Can we also using picture in picture while using green screen feature? For example i wanna create news video.
Great video 👍👌
Thank you 👍
Great video.
One question: Is it possible to zoom in or out of the top layer video (the guy with green layer, in your example)? Thanks
Thanks for checking out the video. You can do it but it would involve two steps as there is no scale feature in the green screen layer. So the work around is to edit your green screen footage using the scale tool in iOS13 which is a new feature that allows you to edit your video clips in the camera roll. Just use the crop tool like you do in a photo. Then import it into iMovie at the right size and apply the green screen effect.
This was a big help but can you teach me how to movie the whole greenscreen video in picture in picture
You can't do both at the same time in iMovie. There would be a work around where you do it in multiple steps. Ie you create a movie with a green background then you add your green screen in as PIP and position it where you want. Then you export that movie out. Open up a new movie then add the movie clip you just created as a green screen layer. Complicated way to do it but the only way I can think of. Otherwise if you use desktop software life Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or Davinici Resolve they are more powerful and let you resize a Greenscreen clip and position it where you want.
Beautiful :)
👍
@@Touchtechnologyreview Sir for Iphone 8 Plus is there any app for dual camera for recording
@@AKCHINAEXPLORER I am only aware of the Filmic Double Take app. Which I covered on a recent video: ruclips.net/video/7sAK9ntzYJY/видео.html However as per iOS 13 capabilities, multi-cam video is restricted to the following devices only: iPhone 11 Pro Max, 11 Pro, 11, Xs Max, Xs and Xr....... So I don't think it can be done on an iPhone 8........
Hey,
Great video! Would you happen to have a video showing people how to film and edit a green screen video with I-phone 12? Also can you discuss where you recommend getting backgrounds from?
Hey there. I have a video on a great green screen background that you can check out here: ruclips.net/video/4RhwmEjZHzI/видео.html

Thank You 😊
This is great, but I was asking for actual backgrounds to add to video. I’m very new to film making. I notice in your intro to I movie editing you had a really cool background for your green screen edit. I was curious to know where I can download stuff like that ?
@@theitalianinfidel5236 Oh yes you can get them from stock libraries try pexels which has some free ones, then istock photo shutter stock and pond 5 but many of these require payment.
@@Touchtechnologyreview
That’s great ! Thanks. These are apps right ?
Your videos have been so helpful. I have had a frustrating problem with the green screen however. I always appear as a “ghost”. I tried the tips you gave on the green screen video, but either my pants or hair or both take up the background and the sheet (i use a blue one) remains untouched! What should I do? Thanks again! I was even able to teach my husband a thing or two for once because of you! LOL
A couple of tips. 1) try the strength slider in iMovie and push it to the max to see if that cleans it up a little. If not then it could be the green screen footage. The object is to get the green background as clean and well light up as possible. If it's a little dark then the green or blue in your case can blend in with the mid tones in your hair or clothes. So next tip is to increase your exposure, stand further away from the green and get a good amount of even light on the green background.... I am glad you have been enjoying the videos and getting your husband involved too. Good time to learn new skills together!
Awesome. Thanks so much. I’ll give it a try. I have made so many short dumb videos dancing in front of a sheet, what’s a few more!
This is is absolutely fantastic, super informative; Thank you !!!
Thanks so much for watching! Glad it was helpful!
Do you have a video showing how to embed a phone image and screen recording? I saw you have several the whole phone image on your video and it shows the separate video on it. If you have any tutorials to do it, please can you please share it. Thank you
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try and get one done at some point. Quick tip I use Premiere Pro or Davinci Resolve and mask my screen recording over the phone image. Quite a few steps but as you say would be a good tutorial to cover.
I have been watching a few of your tutorials as I have had to propel myself into the digital world. This is going to sound a silly question probably but when you say 'green screen' do i get a photo of myself taken with a green background, then I can move my image on top of other images in my iphone library.
Great to hear. Thanks for checking out my videos! Sure that is spot on. You just need to film yourself in front of a green background. Then when you use the green screen feature it knocks out all the green in the scene so only you remain in the shot. Then you place a photo or video underneath on the timeline and you will appear over that background...
Are there any specific shades of green / blue that work better than others?
@@barneyrubble5633 There are specific green and blue screen colour rolls of paper an material that you can buy which often yield best results. However you can use any shade of blue or green you like. My experience has been to use lighter shades of green and blue as they reflect more light and tend to give you better results when you apply the key. So the brighter and more evenly lit the background the better.
Touch Technology Review : thank you for that info, very helpful. I can occasionally get green/blue paper drapes so I will try those first, dont like to waste them
Barney Rubble I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean that you will give me a green background as you don’t like waste lol
I have been hoping for such a feature for years. This makes it so much easier. I use to use veescope live. But now I only have to record the greenscreen without having to worry about putting the picture on the green screen first
Yes this has been a much requested feature for years. So glad they finally added it...
How can i edit a photo with green screen background from phone ?
How do I make green screen footage????
You just need to shoot your video agains a green background.
It keeps using the part that I want instead of the green
Have you filmed yourself against the green background? if so it should knock the green out around you revealing the layer. underneath.
The 1 person who disliked this ur pure evil
ikr good spot by the way
