    I was over at a friends place on the weekend doing some work on his truck and tried those tri lobe handled screw drivers. My fist impression was that they looked like a weird butt plug. But after using them for a few hours, I was sold. I have arthritic hands and the tri lobe design is by far the most comfortable in my hand and allowed me the best grip. I'll be picking up a set in the near future.
    It was a pleasure to watch your lovely hands demonstrate the screwdrivers

    I got quoted 207.00 for the 7 piece set from Snap on, off the truck. I just couldn't see spending that for screwdrivers. I've had nothing but a mix of no name, craftsman, and some gearwrench drivers I got for free ...needed an upgrade as a professional tech, they were breaking often. Bought this set off Amazon for 60 bucks, then added other tools until the price came to 205.00. Not only did I get more screwdrivers for the money, I also got other tools that I needed. Love Tektons stuff so far, I upgraded my Pittsburgh sockets to Tekton recently too.

    The shanks on these are obviously made by Pratt-Read, and the GRN handles are very likely made by WILDE.
    I just ordered a set of these, and it will be my first Tekton purchase.
    Theres no particular reason, these are just the first American made tool I've wanted from Tekton that was exclusive to them.
    Most of their other domestic tools are made by Wilde and I bought that stuff through other sources before I ever heard about Tekton.

    I have the triangle screwdrivers already, but I think I'll pick these new red ones up. Do you know if the white markings on the end of the handles extends below the surface or is it just painted on. I'm worried about it wearing off. But I know some things, like game controllers, have the markings on the buttons injected all the way through, so they don't ever wear off.

    Silly Q:
    What are the pros / cons of black oxide vs chrome?
    All my drivers are chrome.
    Why have they introduced the BO?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  3 года назад +1

      Black oxide is cheaper since they don't have to chrome plate the screwdriver shafts. Black oxide does need oiled every few months to prevent rusting but overall not a huge difference. It is sold in both chrome and black oxide now so it depends if your trying to save a few dollars or not. 👍
