I've been a drummer for years, started learning guitar over the past year and a half, and I smashed my finger today at work so I've decided to learn harmonica and this is where I'm starting man good video
I’ve had a set of harmonics I asked for about 5yrs ago for Christmas. I never touched them until I decided to try this song. Hey! I can play a easy song on harmonic now! Now to see if I can play it while I play guitar. Thank you!
HarmonicaJoe.com I will I have always wanted to play my guitar and harmonica together. Maybe some Neil Young 😁. My band rehearses this Saturday and I plan on dropping the big HARMONICA PART on Mary Jane. We have always played that without one. Should be fun!
HarmonicaJoe.com Fair. A couple of things gotta work on playing the guitar and harp at the same time. The other is it seems like the holder I have sits low so it hard for me to get down to the harp to play. It’s just one of those basic holders that is adjustable fore and aft. Maybe I have a long neck or slumps shoulders but isn’t Ergonomically friendly to me. Any ideas thank you
Much mahalo for this great video! Super helpful! I’ve been playing this song on guitar for awhile, and always wanted to try the harmonica to accompany it. Your videos are easy to follow and I’m grateful for your slow approach. Sometimes I watch videos on RUclips and the person is going so fast with the instructions, I just can’t get it. Your videos make it possible for others to pick it up. Thank you very much for your time and help. 👍😀🎸
On this song I use a Lee Oscar Em natural minor harmonica. 1st Am(d.) 2nd Em(N) It sounds more like the song to me with harmony in the right key as opposed to a few notes clashing if blown side by side.
Hi, the recording is either sped up or the guitars are tuned a half step up from standard guitar tuning in E, so I'm going to try an F# harmonica with regular tuning and see if that works.
I mention this issue at 0:43 seconds into the video. Most people play the song in A minor so you would need a harmonica in the key of G. You could try an Ab harp but it’s still going to be out of tune with the recording because the recording is in between A minor and Bb minor.
Victoria Lyall Too Late for Goodbyes is a good choice! I can show you how to play the melody because I don’t think there is a harmonica part in the song. I’ll see if I can put up a video on it and hopefully RUclips doesn’t block it. Stay tuned!

Play along with it and try to copy the vocal melody, that will give you a great start for a solo.
