I've watched a lot of videos on personal items bags people take. And this is my favorite!! So much I went and bought one. It's perfect. I love that it opens up at the top , can carry it as a backpack or use the handles. And you can slip it over your carryon bag. I already practiced filling it up with what I would probably take. I even was able to use the tip of taking out one outfit and putting it in your personal items bag, in case you have to end up checking your carryon. I use the large ziplock compression bags. I rolled it up and stood it upright in the bag. I can't thank you know for making this video!!!
The only other item I would add is a gallon sized zipper bag to your snack bag to contain wrappers, wipes and such. Before the end of the flight close the baggie and place it in the trash that the FA brings around.
Gallon sized seems large for a few items. I always take the diaper baggies from Dollar Tree. Used to be 75 for $1. They fold up teensy weensy and I keep a bunch in a 3”x4” ziplock bag. (I use them as doggie poop bag for chihuahuas (or other small breeds) as you used to only get 50 for the black doggie poop bags in Dollar Tree) I keep some in the kitchen for chicken skin/shrimp shells that I freeze until trash pickup day. Sorry for digressing but they are great travel trash baggies.
I have this bag and just used it last week. Great bag, but my zipper was broken and I didn't notice until the return window passed. I'm glad yours is fine, it really is a great for carry on.
Wonderful backpack but that brand is no longer available. The Lovevook brand is the exact same backpack in 3 sizes on Amazon & it is available. I have 2 of them in a personal item size & the carryon size.
I have that same style bag (different brand) I got from Amazon, it's the perfect personal item bag! I pack similarly to you & I just pull out a pouch that has in-flight essentials (eye drops, gum, AirPods, chargers etc) my iPad & water bottle & I don't usually have to mess around in the bag after I'm seated.
I like your video. Maybe I missed it, but can you please show me the bag you’re actually using as your personal item bag in this video? Is it on Amazon? Thank you very much!!!
I love this, aww need those tips for my long-haul flights too! But wanted to share also the bag that I have been using, it can store all your essentials from gadgets to the most important ones. It's the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane, I'm sure you would love it too!
I have to have my phone, Kindle, cords, water bottle, paperwork/wallet, and jewelry. Unfortunately, certain things also get included because I don't trust my luggage to arrive with me. (Experience is a great teacher)
Nice video. Watching this in Jan 2023. Don’t understand why you are taking an iPad AND a kindle when space is at a premium. Kindle ebooks can be read on an iPad with the kindle app.
I still think that bad is too big to really fit under the seat. Also I have seen videos like this for “personal item” that looks like it weighs 50 lbs! So I don’t know about that.

Your welcome! It was such a great find. Still holding up well after many trips. I appreciate the price tag on it too :)
You are the most prepared ever and I am here for it!! Loving that backpack too, Jen.

Very curious about that rose water spray. I love anything rose scented and it sounds wonderful.

My co-worker has a mini bag like that and the top zipper broke on it.

Do you have a link for the headphones. I returned a $60 pair cause I could still hear, even with my earplugs in. Thanx for all your tips and tricks.
I do not. They are pretty old but the Bose noise cancelling are my favorite :)

Your link for the bag you gave to another person doesn't work, what's the name of the bag? Maybe I can find it myself. 🤔

I prefer the screen on my kindle. It’s so small it hardly matters.
I didn't see the link for the backpack anywhere.
and then it can be found in "travel must haves"
I couldn't find it in that link either and you don't say what it's called so I couldn't find it!

Ugh, the sound of all the rustling plastic and nylon...
