Lori, love your videos. I wish I could justify the national park packing cubes, I have two sets already from Tripped. A couple of things that I have found useful when traveling, one is the Gravel travel blanket. I am a colder sleeper, this blanket is very warm and very light weight. It has pockets for your feet, a snap that you can snap up around your neck. It also has a zip pocket that is next to your body when your feet are in the pockets. The blanket can also be folded into the pocket for a pillow. When I slept on my flight to Scotland I placed my passport and wallet in the pocket so it is next to my body. Gravel is a small relatively new business. The two gentleman started the company because they couldn’t find a toiletries bag they liked. Medicines for travel, I ordered small pill bottles from Amazon, and asked my pharmacy to print off labels of my prescriptions. Then take only the number of doses for the trip plus two extra doses. The small bottles took up much less room than the one size my pharmacy uses.

I did use an airplane tray cover for my long flights to/from Japan, the little hooks work great, I used a small crossbody to hold cards and passport for convenience and suggest the forward sleeping blowup pillow instead of neck pillow because it's a more natural position so your back will not hurt. I did like the travel hanging bag you recommended and used the clear removable section for essentials in my crossbody.. I ended up rolling my clothing, the packing cubes made it too bulky and it was easier to fill in gaps with smaller items. I only brought one pair of shoes that I had to throw out and buy a pair of Hoka in Japan because you walk everywhere and a lot of stairs. Noise canceling headphones and sleep mask a must. Water bottle and snacks in personal item as well. Hand wipes to clean your plane area must bring. I used the eyeglass wipes not the peeps. Agree that you need face/hand lotion, eye drops and lip moisturizer. I did have to put my cross body in my carry on.
Thank you for your wonderfully useful tips, Lisa! You’re my favorite travel hack RUclipsr. Your tip about compression socks and doing the abcs with your feet during long flights has been a huge game changer for me. I travel to Europe frequently and my feet and ankles would swell like crazy and take days to get back to normal but thanks to you, those swollen days are behind me!
You have become my favourite travel influencer. I have purchased a few of the items you have suggested and love them. I am heading to Italy in May and so so excited to use your tips and tricks. Thank you. 😊
Thank you for your videos as always. I like the ear plugs recommendation, because some flights my ears REALLY hurt. I feel like they are going to start bleeding. Painful! I have another question for you - I too have many travel items and luggage, so I was wondering if you keep all of this in your regular closet or a spare closet for just travel items? I am doing my "Spring cleaning" and organizing everything personal. It has been fun and I am ready now to plan a "Spring Break".
My mom's started bleeding once. I told her to go to the doctor but she didn't. I store almost everything in my old 2 wheel suitcase, but I did make a video on how to store things inbetween trips: ruclips.net/video/PS-TJeWoIG4/видео.html
Great suggestions! I always pack a spare outfit in a large zip loc and put it in the bottom of my personal bag just in case my carry-on gets checked and is lost or if I spill anything on myself during the flight.
Hey Lori! Thank you for the video. I wanted to say that when I take my prescription pills out of their bottles and put them in little bags or wherever I put them. I always take a picture of the prescription on the bottle with my iPhone. Just in case. It just makes life easier if something happens or if you need to replace them while you’re traveling etCetera. Keep up the great work
RVP Money on my person always with a small nylon pocket pinned on my waist, inside pockets in coats and vests. When shirt sleeves are too long fold under sleeve band and pin for a safe money place. Thank you for your bright personality and natural appearance If money is needed go to a restroom to go to your safety stash
Definitely look into the Clutch Iphone chargers! They are extremely small+lightweight and give a full charge (I’ve used one for about 2 years now). I love your videos! You are so thorough with the research you do to find perfect products to make our trips amazing! Thanks for putting in the time to make amazing content!
Thank you for your tips and products. I am flying Singapore Airlines in a few months, Australia to London and they are very strict now with the size of your personal bag. Overall measurement no greater than 80cm. That's not an easy size to find. I believe other airlines are being strict as well.
I love that tray table cover to organize all my in-flight essentials, if I have a seat in front of me. But I often pay extra to get a bulkhead seat, which means no seat in front and just the tiny magazine rack stapled to the bulkhead. Also, everything has to go in the overhead compartment instead of the floor in front of me. In that case, I find that 3 zipped tablet case you were talking about a year or two ago to be ideal for my in flight comfort essentials and a thin paperback. I move the in flight magazines to the overhead bin to make room for it. Everything else, like snacks, can fit in the pockets of my 17 pocket travel vest. If flying in warm weather, instead of a T shirt, I pack 3 or 4 translucent gauzy tops that slip over top of the tank I wear as part of my in flight outfit. They fold down in no more space than a large silk scarf. That way, I get a lot of outfits in a very small space. BTW, those boxes of very tiny Lindt chocolate bars are perfect for in flight snacks 🙂 I would always wear something that allows me to put valuables in my pockets if I have to leave my seat - I never leave valuables unattended, however nice my seat mate might seem! I got that purse hook on your recommendation, btw, and have had so many positive comments from people. I use it mostly to keep my purse off the table during our church soup suppers/Bible studies, so it doesn't get someone's soup spilled on it. Those Vera Bradley purses are hard to clean! I definitely recommend carrying individually wrapped alcohol wipes for your tray table, arm rest, and head rest (people forget about the head rest, but trust me, some of the folks I've encountered on planes, you do NOT want to be resting your hair where they've had theirs for several hours! That can be a great way to catch head lice. Ick!) Individually wrapped ones are much easier to deal with than resealing packages while you and everyone else on the plane are trying to get settled, and a box will last you a long time. A tip to making the getting everything settled and sanitized process go more quickly is to tuck a doggie waste bag into the cuff of your sleeve prior to boarding, then it is handy to whip out to put in your used wipe, and to gather up any other waste during the flight.
HI Laurie! I binged watched your videos 2 years ago before we went to South Dakota, first time traveling Carry-On Only. So many of your tips helped make that trip easy. We will ALWAYS fly carry-on when possible now. I didn't get the "flat phone holder", but have just recently. It stays in my work bag and I use it everyday at lunch, lol! Thanks for all the helpful tips, they have been game changing in all of my trips (even to my Mom's).😊
That tray cover with the POCKETS is my big must-have. I need my glasses, water, wipes, devices/cords/earbuds, maybe snacks, at hand, and the airplane seat pockets will not hold them. And you can’t really get into your bags easily. I don’t care about the tray cover itself, but the pockets are great.
Because of your channel, I have started packing extra clothes in a packing cube. I can cram it at the bottom of my personal bag and it takes up very little room. I also pack travel size skincare including some cotton balls, Qtips, and makeup remover wipes, because I don’t want to be without those, either. I never know with the airlines anymore if my luggage will arrive at my destination!
Thank you for all your tips! I am traveling to Paris in the fall. It will be my first time to go to Europe! I am so excited. I live in Houston as well!
The Cabeau neck pillow is amazing. No matter how long my flight is gonna be, I bring it with me. One time flying from Dallas-Chicago we had to land in Kansas City because it was raining in Chicago. Apparently we stayed in KC for like three hours, I don’t know, I fell asleep.
Finnair weighing their customers is optional and it's not mandatory :) It's just there top help them to estimate the weight of passengers carry on bags and personal items etc. for flight balance calculations. Plus it's only during February, April and May :)
Have been following you for a couple years. Have to tell you….the Tripped brand electronics bag is the best. I now have 2. Everything fits and easy to use. Also picked up packing cubes and love them as well.
Love, Love, Love the National Park compression cubes….(Been to all of them except Tetons…. Still on my list.) And the AirPod cord is a MUST!!! Thanks for the tips, this was great🫶🏻😁
There is a sad photo you can find on the internet of an AirPod stuck in the track that an airplane seat goes in. They even had maintenance try to get the AirPod out but no dice. The guy had to leave it behind, which got me to thinking about an earbud cord so I don’t become a sad meme one day.
Just flew Southwest and they were counting a pillow or blanket as a carry-on item! To open up space in my backpack for my cross-body bag, I put my Bose headphones around my neck when boarding the plane.
I have the same backpack and compression cubes and they all are great -- high quality and nice looking as well. Many thanks for all your wonderful tips and hacks. For the airplane seat back pocket I use one of my thick vinyl zip-lock bags (meant for food to eliminate the single use plastic bags) -- it's large enough for my iPad mini and also can hold my phone, chewing gum, notebook, pens, small water bottle... whatever I might need for my 10+ hour flight to Europe. It keeps my things from getting lost in the deep pocket and getting dirty from... whatever!!! And I can wash it if necessary as well.
@@Marciarasmussen-t3i I'm sorry, I don't know the brand. They were given to me as a gift a couple of years ago and I don't have the box anymore. And no, it doesn't attach to the pocket -- it just slips inside.
Another great video, Laurie! I was wondering, have you ever used or contemplated using a “pocket vest” such as SCOTTeVEST to carry some of the smaller essentials on a flight and while touring on your trip. Thanks!
Yes! I was going to ask this as well. 😃 Buying a SCOTTeVEST for traveling was one of the best decisions I have made! Instead of pulling out my personal item bag when I need something, I just keep lots of little travel essentials inside of my jacket/vest for easy access. I have worn it for flights and road trips and I just love it! I also love watching Laurie’s videos, they are SO helpful! 🌸
One tip for women who may find wearing a money belt uncomfortable is to turn it around so the pouch is at your back. Sounds like nothing but it makes a difference!
Hi Laurie. Thanks for all your travel hack videos. Most of our flights on Allegiant we sit at the very front in the Extra Leg Room seats. They don't have a seat in front where I could house my items. How would you work around that?
I would definitely have a pouch or even your crossbody bag that can stick in the little pocket or squeeze between your leg and the arm rest. But you can get up and retrieve your backpack as soon as the seatbelt sign goes off.
I can't afford any extras due to Iceland Air restrictions to get back from a 15-day cruise-- 5-day wardrobe---wash rinse repeat! Then discard before return flight! Thinking about shipping a box home??? Six hour flight to boot!
All great tips and I'll have to check out that cup holder. The best tip you said is to really consider if you truly need that item you are packing. I've really helped myself from over packing by taking the time to see if what is needed vs wanted, and if I have something that has multiple uses so to reduce the amount of items packed.
I love your suggestions but the tray table cover does not work on all airplanes. I traveled on Southwest, Alaska and Hawaiian and they did not fit. I was bummed. I'll be on United soon so hopefully it will fit on that one.
Most of my trips are about an hour so some of these won't help because the flight is so short. That being said, I will be doing my first international trip next year, and I just discovered your channel. Your tips are great, but so are the tips from seasoned travelers as well. Thanks to you and to everybody else!
I'm planning on packing some food and snack stuff to bring with me during my next flight but trying to figure out how to pack the personal item bag so the food doesn't end up crushed. Like I was thinking of bringing a couple of sandwiches and whatever else along but I've never done this before while flying especially with a 14 x 9 x 8 sized personal item bag. Suggestions?
My long flight essentials: lightweight cashmere shawl, HotHands Warming Insoles (keep my feet warm for 8 hrs), ear buds, travel pillow, eye mask and printouts of travel docs
I’ve had dry and cracked feet forever and I’ve tried multiple lotions. I finally tried the Gold Bond that you are talking about and it is wonderful! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
Thank you so much for your Hacks... So helpful... Please keep going... In don't bring a blanket, I bring a poncho, mine is Cashmere and really comfy, but there are so many fabrics you can choose from... A poncho isn't so bulky... Maybe someone likes this idea... Greetings from Germany... 😁
Hmmm......I just got some great tips as to what to get my bestie and hubby for their anniversary this year. They are traveling to a convention in another country in June and their anniversary is in May.....perfect timing 😊
I was told by an Air Canada flight attendant to remove mine as it is not allowed. Real bummer, as I had comfortably set it all up and was looking forward to using it.😢
Great video as always Laurie! Do you have a a video or can you make a video on keeping items placed in bins that will go thru TSA screening safe from theft from others? I have recently seen news of even shady TSA security officers steeling from the bins! Scary!! Thanks and blessings
Not to take away freedom m Laurie, she’s great, but I watched another travel video the other day and she recommended putting your items through in the order you want to receive them the other end. In her case it was personal item/backpack, then her electronics, then her closed carryon. At the other end she grabs the personal item, opens, and grabs the electronics and places in the bag, by then she’ll be ready to grab her carryon and move out of the security area.
Oh yes, I always put my backpack in first so that I can throw it over my shoulders and then take anything else to the bench to get organized. Thanks for sharing-great visual.@@SharonRepici
I like the new makeup bag by tripped.....but what a shame it can't be bought separately. I already have the 4 pack. I hate to order again in order to get the makeup case. But thanks so much for sharing. I had no idea they had come up with another product.
Excellent information today (as always). I'll be using many of the ideas for the upcoming long haul flight (LAX to LHR - Heathrow). Thank you for the information on what to wear and sleep for the all-nighter flight. Question: Do you have an example or a recommendation for the one-liter liquid bags required to depart from Heathrow security? I know it's much smaller than the TSA Approved ones you get on Amazon. Thanks again (wife of a DFW pilot).
Love your videos! Since you travel so much, I have a question about hanging toiletry bags. For my upcoming long flight from JFK to Istanbul, I am in the extra leg room seat (I know, I know but for medical reasons I need to be close to the bathroom) and since there is no place to store a bag under my seat, do you know if I can hang a small toiletry bag from the pocket on the bulk head in front of my seat? Thank you for all your travel tips!
I had to laugh because when you talked about that one Emery board giving you tickles. I called things like that bad touches whenever I touch something goes up my spine and just feels weird. That’s “ bad touches” lol😂
At what point do you put your compression socks on and take them off? Right before you get on the plane and when you get off? My legs tend to swell when I’m on a plane so I’m going to use some compression socks on my next trip. Love your travel tips!
I love your tips and recommendations. I’m going to buy the tray table covers for two of my cousins that fly frequently. I’m surprised you don’t put any kind of protection over your backpack when it’s under the seat. You know how gross those carpets are. Blech.
Just curious….how would airline know if phone etc is in checked bag headed to belly of plane? I comply with this rule but how do we know everyone does?
It goes through a scanner. If you have an extra phone with a lithium battery packed, the scanner will let the agent know to search your bag and remove it. A student studying abroad had her extra phone taken out of her checked bag.
Thank you Laurie!!! I'm curious, have you tried a foot swing for long flights? You hang it on the tray table. I haven't bought it yet- can't tell if it's genius or a dud. I just found out we have mutual family friends while I was raving about you to my daughters' suitemates. 😂 small world
Thank you once more! I just returned from another fabulous trip to Europe. I get way too warm under the duvet/comforters in European hotels so next trip I'll bring my silk sleeping bag liner/hostel sheet. Also, Lufthansa seems to have super strict carry on sizing rules. What do you recommend for them?

Love that toiletry bag with the clear bag.
I also pack a thin Jammie shirt in my carry on. Just in case!
Yay! But my name is Laurie for future reference.
You have become my favourite travel influencer. I have purchased a few of the items you have suggested and love them. I am heading to Italy in May and so so excited to use your tips and tricks. Thank you. 😊
Oh my word, it is going to be beautiful! Have a lovely trip.
Keep up the great work
Thanks for sharing!!
Got a full, detailed inspection in Austria for not having pills in their original bottles, I’ll never do that again
I have the Clutch charger. Small, thin, fits in pocket of purse or any personal item bag! Love it❤
Love the Clutch chargers. They work great and super small plus you don’t need an extra cord.
Thanks for your tips!
Welcome back!
My first international trip is this year! Cant wait! Still on the fence on the compression cubes though
Oh wow, enjoy! Do not use them and see how it goes-like test it. You may see that you really do not need them.
Gave the tray table covers as Christmas gifts and they were a big hit!
The pockets are so reachable too!
That is awesome!
You are always my go to for traveling. I appreciate everything you do! Thank you!
Happy to hear that!
Thank you for all your tips! I am traveling to Paris in the fall. It will be my first time to go to Europe! I am so excited. I live in Houston as well!
Oh have a beautiful trip!
Love the small suitcase that is behind you. What size is that one?
The Cabeau neck pillow is amazing. No matter how long my flight is gonna be, I bring it with me. One time flying from Dallas-Chicago we had to land in Kansas City because it was raining in Chicago. Apparently we stayed in KC for like three hours, I don’t know, I fell asleep.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tripped Travel cord case - for my guy and me - we have all the cords/chargers/etc. and we LOVE IT! Thanks for the tip!!!
So cool!
That is awesome!
Love, Love, Love the National Park compression cubes….(Been to all of them except Tetons…. Still on my list.) And the AirPod cord is a MUST!!! Thanks for the tips, this was great🫶🏻😁
They are amazing!
Get to the Tetons ASAP! They are absolutely breathtaking!
WOW!
What brand of vinyl bag is this and do you attach to the plane pocket? TIA
@@Marciarasmussen-t3i I'm sorry, I don't know the brand. They were given to me as a gift a couple of years ago and I don't have the box anymore. And no, it doesn't attach to the pocket -- it just slips inside.
I bought these packing cubes per your recommendation before a Europe trip last fall, they were great and I've continued to use them since!
Another great video, Laurie! I was wondering, have you ever used or contemplated using a “pocket vest” such as SCOTTeVEST to carry some of the smaller essentials on a flight and while touring on your trip. Thanks!
Not yet!
Laurie - LOVE the Level 8 suitcase and the Tripped compression bags. Thanks for the tips!!
That's great to hear!
I haven't flown in years. I will have to watch again and take notes!
Have a great flight!
One tip for women who may find wearing a money belt uncomfortable is to turn it around so the pouch is at your back. Sounds like nothing but it makes a difference!
Probably makes your butt look good, too! Lol.
@@Tinyteacher1111 On The small of your back, not your butt.
@@croberts709 I know. I was joking!
Thank You So Much for the most helpful information 😇❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can't afford any extras due to Iceland Air restrictions to get back from a 15-day cruise-- 5-day wardrobe---wash rinse repeat! Then discard before return flight! Thinking about shipping a box home??? Six hour flight to boot!
I don't fly but I take many bus tours and I use a lot of your hacks when I travel.
Laurie I love the turtle neck pillow, it’s the only one that has worked for me. Do try it.
My friend told me about it too.
All great tips and I'll have to check out that cup holder. The best tip you said is to really consider if you truly need that item you are packing. I've really helped myself from over packing by taking the time to see if what is needed vs wanted, and if I have something that has multiple uses so to reduce the amount of items packed.
So true-and the hardest packing tip for me!
I absolutely love the window cup holder. I hang my iPod case from the little hooks. I love it!
I just noticed when editing that their pics showed you ideas of what all it can help with during a flight.
I love your suggestions but the tray table cover does not work on all airplanes. I traveled on Southwest, Alaska and Hawaiian and they did not fit. I was bummed. I'll be on United soon so hopefully it will fit on that one.
Oh no!
Most of my trips are about an hour so some of these won't help because the flight is so short. That being said, I will be doing my first international trip next year, and I just discovered your channel. Your tips are great, but so are the tips from seasoned travelers as well. Thanks to you and to everybody else!
The viewers are so helpful!!
My must have is FOOD!😂
I'm planning on packing some food and snack stuff to bring with me during my next flight but trying to figure out how to pack the personal item bag so the food doesn't end up crushed. Like I was thinking of bringing a couple of sandwiches and whatever else along but I've never done this before while flying especially with a 14 x 9 x 8 sized personal item bag. Suggestions?

The earplanes really work great.
So many people swear by them for a flight.
Do airlines allow you to go on the plane with beverages such as starbucks?
Love your videos! Thanks for all the great information...
Awesome tips! Thank you!!!
My long flight essentials: lightweight cashmere shawl, HotHands Warming Insoles (keep my feet warm for 8 hrs), ear buds, travel pillow, eye mask and printouts of travel docs
Laurie- I so appreciate all of your tips! ❤
So glad!
Great tips! I appreciate all that you share!
I’ve had dry and cracked feet forever and I’ve tried multiple lotions. I finally tried the Gold Bond that you are talking about and it is wonderful! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
SEEEE? I tell you, it's wonderful and so glad for you.
thanks for sharing your information about travel ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your Hacks... So helpful... Please keep going... In don't bring a blanket, I bring a poncho, mine is Cashmere and really comfy, but there are so many fabrics you can choose from... A poncho isn't so bulky...
Maybe someone likes this idea...
Greetings from Germany... 😁
Good day!! Thank you Pam.
Tripped has the best toiletries bag on the market! I love mine
I love how small they are but can bulge like crazy!
I have those compression bags thanks to you!
Thank you for the update on the medicine! I take lots of meds and such a pain to bring all the bottles
Hope it gave you some ideas.
Love the all the tips
Thanks for watching!
Where can I buy your seat bag the one the same color as you tech bag
Hi I called it a makeup pouch and medicine pouch: amzn.to/3uS1rJw
Hmmm......I just got some great tips as to what to get my bestie and hubby for their anniversary this year. They are traveling to a convention in another country in June and their anniversary is in May.....perfect timing 😊
Oh fun!
I heard some airlines don't allow the tray table cover. Do you or anyone know which airlines don't allow this? Thanks in advance!
I was told by an Air Canada flight attendant to remove mine as it is not allowed. Real bummer, as I had comfortably set it all up and was looking forward to using it.😢
Who knew there were so many useful ways to use Tripped?! 😮🤩 Thanks for traveling with us, Laurie! ✈
Love using travel hacks when packing in only a carry-on.
Great info! I also pack a pajama in my carryon on.😊
Smart!
Love your tips and tricks and love that your older, I do not like looking at these travel tips you tube videos with this younger generation.
Also I take one adaptor plug and into which I plug a power board from home into, now with usb and c plugs as old Europe has so few plugs in rooms
Great video as always Laurie! Do you have a a video or can you make a video on keeping items placed in bins that will go thru TSA screening safe from theft from others? I have recently seen news of even shady TSA security officers steeling from the bins! Scary!! Thanks and blessings
I just put any valuables in an inner zipped pocket.
It's new so maybe they will break the set up.
This was a very informative video. The thing for the ears is something I need
The ear plugs?
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Yes, My ears tend to really hurt when descending and landing.
Here is the one I used: amzn.to/436stt6
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie@TravelTipsbyLaurie Airplanes and rose gold, I love it. I ordered it; thank you, Laurie.
Do you think the little bags would pass with the prescription label on them? Bought them anyway and a few other recommendations. Thanks.
we picked up some of the double ended hooks at REI.
Those are called carabiners.
@@kathrynblack9152only loosely so. carabiners are climbing hardware. we picked a couple of those up, too, for the dogs' seat belts.
Laurie, do England or Scotland require actual pill bottles??! I’ve never heard this! I’ve always travelled with the little pouches. Thanks!
I would not take them to those countries...undless taking controlled substances.
So very helpful tips that you have shared, thank you. ❤
I am glad the tips help!
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching too!
Hi you can have anything once the plane takes off.
I had to laugh because when you talked about that one Emery board giving you tickles. I called things like that bad touches whenever I touch something goes up my spine and just feels weird. That’s “ bad touches” lol😂
Love those national park packing cubes! So pretty!
The best!
At what point do you put your compression socks on and take them off? Right before you get on the plane and when you get off? My legs tend to swell when I’m on a plane so I’m going to use some compression socks on my next trip. Love your travel tips!
I put them on before I leave my house.
I love your tips and recommendations. I’m going to buy the tray table covers for two of my cousins that fly frequently. I’m surprised you don’t put any kind of protection over your backpack when it’s under the seat. You know how gross those carpets are. Blech.
What kind of protection would you recommend? I think it’s gross too.
@@sybilcarter9289 Any kind of plastic bag that will cover the under seat bag. It can be used for trash later.
They do not know that for every bag.
Haven't flown for a while but like to hear some good ideas for future reference
Thank you Laurie!!! I'm curious, have you tried a foot swing for long flights? You hang it on the tray table. I haven't bought it yet- can't tell if it's genius or a dud. I just found out we have mutual family friends while I was raving about you to my daughters' suitemates. 😂 small world
Oh yes, I should have mentioned that. Love it but rarely use it.
This is so helpful! ✈ Thanks for sharing your must-have essentials for staying comfortable during air travel!
Absolutely!
I thought about a fan for a river cruise too. I think they want us to check bags.
Laurie, it is raining like hell in NYC and i just bought some waterproof shoes you recommended recently for my upcoming South America trip
Good, test them out. If you do not love them, return them. And have a blast!
