ARMY theory is that these are all different Events that occurred to him in various timelines of his life: he was a child to his parents, a friend in a group out partying, a boyfriend in a turbulent relationship, and then a husband with a beauiful family. Throughout, he felt like he was never fit perfectly into any of these roles. In his journey of self discovery he encounters another human, kim minha (the actress), who is as lost as he is in the maze of societal roles and expectations. However after they had a conversation on the couch, he realizes that it's not just him, this is the reality of most people, and life is never going to feel perfect cut to him being teleported to these scenarios again, but now he's happy bcs knowing he is not alone in this journey makes him appreciate life and it's imperfections more. In the end it's almost like enlightenment where he's freed from the shackles of pursuing a perfect life now understands the true meaning of living. you see him walking through the forbidden door with kim minha, both now happy and content
This song is about the pressure to grow up within predetermined boundaries, such as the social construction of marriage and having a heteronormative partner, it's really profound knowing how in Korean society especially, people live a lot by social pressure and what people expect of them, That is why in the end we see how he understands that he does not

wow that theory is better than mine. and after i saw RM´s dazer interview he talked about this. not the song but he read two books about this subject so i think he took inspiration from that
BTW I'm so fucking proud of Namjoon's evolution in music. In the 2022 Festa, in a very emotional moment, he said that he needed to stay true to himself. That he wanted to make music without thinking of the rules of the world. So I think he's finally doing it. Just expressing everything he wants to express is his fantastic style. I can't wait to hear the whole album. I already know I'm gonna love it.
if you listen to all of Namjoon's albums...he is an absolute person, a brilliant artist.
The MV presents different scenarios, past, present and future. And he realizes that he can leave all of them and begin again.
The injury near his eye is real. He was hurt with a camera when they were filming the MV. He went to the ER and came back the same day to continue with the filming of the MV.
And the injury kind of suited the MV.

I think the general belief is that this video is at least somewhat inspired by the book “The Midnight Library” where someone sees or visits all the lives they could experience - like a multi-verse. I saw an interpretation of the character played by Kim Minha as being a guide through the multi-verse, and also as someone experiencing it as he is.
We have said this before. It’s necessary to dig deeper when trying to interpret anything by a member of BTS. It’s never what you see on the surface. You might see a relationship (with multiple women here, though???), but more often than not they’re asking you to think beyond the obvious and what you see with your eyes. It’s honestly what sets them apart from every other artist.
Also, ARMY have noticed that there are nods to all seven members’ solo MVs in this video….which is a super interesting thought.
Also, all four women are different people. Kim Minha was in “Pachinko” on Apple TV. The others have been in various K-dramas. The director directed BEEF on Netflix, which won 5 Emmys and two SAG awards. The actor on the couch with RM who offers him a cigarette was nominated for an Emmy for his role in BEEF. The other men have also had roles in multiple K-dramas. The director said that they talked about the cast of this being kind of the Avengers of Korean actors. 😂 It’s funny because I’ve heard many reactors say that BTS are like the Avengers, in that each one is superbly talented on their own, but together there is something more like magic that happens.
I love listening to you guys talk about BTS and Namjoon. He is actually an extrovert in a way but let's say he is a very thoughtful extrovert. Someone has presented a very good interpretation of the mv in the comment section. I hope you read it. Of course we can have our own interpretations but that one can be a starting point for the less imaginative ones like me. About Kim Minha, the last girl, who is interpreted as Namjoon's inner self by some or as someone equally confused by life, is an actress. She was the lead in the book based Apple TV series "Pachinko". The production crew was made up of the best of the best in Korea. In fact it was directed by the Korean-American director of BEEF. I cannot wait for what Namjoon has to offer in the album.
Just a comment, the book Patchinko predates the Apple drama series.

If you explore his mixtapes and first album you'll understand.
Also, we should keep in mind he is writing from a korean cultural perspective where citizens have a lot pressure to fit in in all aspect of life, from newborn to death.
I've been following BTS since 2016 and I'm amazed by their growth as artist as a group and as individuals.
And the 3 rappers growth is even more interesting, cause let's say it, rap has it's limits. So hearing them sing and explore music and their voice differently is a bless.
I'm so so so proud of Namjoon.

This is easily my favorite BTS solo song. RM outdid himself yet again. Always true to himself, always pushing the boundaries, always comforting and thought-provoking. Namjoon (along with V) is probably the most unorthodox and versatile member of BTS when it comes to musical styles. I cannot wait to hear his new album!!!
This is the most Unique and most Genius track ever
He hit his head on an equipment during shooting and had to get stitches. Love your discussion and commentary around the music video. I think most of us do think so too. He is just catching up to who he is now. It moved so fast.
During the first shoot, in aiming the video, Najoon actually hit the camera with his face and had to go get a few stitches above his eye. He shortly returned and continued filming in real life.
Unfortunately our God of Destruction aka RM got hurt on the very first day of shooting. The director of the music video explained that RM went to the hospital, got stitches and came back to continue the shoot. RM is a professional.
PS. The director Lee Sung Jin said: “He [RM] bent down and his head hit the camera and it was a giant gash on his eye and immediately I thought, ‘Oh great, I’m going to be deported immediately because I’ve just scratched this national treasure”
Lee was not wrong and ARMY understands, we would wrap RM in bubble wrap if possible.

Yeah, RM is Bangtan’s and ARMYs’ clumsy giant who never fails to find something to destroy (I'm saying this with lots of adoration for him), so we'd much rather lovingly wrap him in a bubble wrap so he'll always be safe.

BTS began their anti-violence / bullying collaboration with UNICEF in 2017. A percentage of Love Myself album sales and 100% merchandise sales this has since raised over $6.6 billion. Apart from that initiative the boys have their own donations which they try to keep private. which again annually is multi millions $ that they donate, as well as one off donations. So yes these young men are now rich, but they give back both financially and with their actions. I love their solo and group music, I change my mind all the time who and what is my favourite song or performer from the group but am also proud of their sense of humanity and decency.

Rm´s personality is ENFP he is extrovert so he enjoy other peoples comany but he also likes peace and quiet alone reading a book. he is a genius with a 140 IQ so he thinks a lot and often have a hard time finding peace in his mind. to many questions that he can´t find the answers to. he talked about this alot. but he loves the simple life going for walks or bycyle in nature, exploring animals and insects and reading a book and visit museums. he loves all types of art. his dream before becoming a rapper was poetry but then he found out rap was litteraly poetry just in rap form.
It’s like a multiverse. Different kinds of RM is existing simultaneously in different worlds. It’s like the Oscar winning movie “Everything Everywhere All At Once”

There were 5 different women in this, all well known Korean actors. To me he was choosing the last woman to go out into the world with, leaving other options, versions, possibilities behind. With the last woman he was in the right place. This is an indie song, technically, not Kpop. Ty
Honestly when I was reading the lyrics to Come Back to Me and theorizing what the MV is abt what came to mind was Love Maze by BTS lyrics,
"Trapped in a maze of decisions
Exhausted by all the different chaos
We’ve wandered around, looking for the answer
Lost in the maze, in the darkness"
I interpret the MV and song to Come Back To Me is abt how our lives a maze of choices and any choices is like a Butterfly effect. Also to learn to be happy with what choices we decide even if it is different than what society wants of us. To me it seems that RM is thinking abt what ifs and imaging different scenarios and distressed but eventually comes to term with the choices he has made and becomes happier...BUT also notice when he decides to come to terms (aka walk through the door) he still looks like he is in a maze, so he still is going to be making endless choices.

To me, the doors on the hall are all possibilities of life that the system expects from him. Before finding himself (or a soulmate) all of those role seem a burden. Maybe it's the representation that "if you don't know yourself, if you don't know your place in the world, you can't be happy let alone make your family happy."
Only after finding his "anima" he could open the door that, to me, leads to the uncertain future, but one that won't be imposed by the society, but chosen by him.
Doors have always had a lot of symbolism. The door with the three different colored circles could mean PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE . Triptych architecture in history has also had symbolisms for past, present and future or for harmony like life and death, man and woman, Yin and Yang, the moon and the sun with the middle piece being the connection, our enlightenment, a third eye, a doorway to inner happiness.
Also the different colors and lighting keep changing and I believe when they finally go through the door the three colors on the door are red, green and blue and I know RM has mentioned RGB before. He's also mentioned multiverses and reading The Midnight Library (many similarities to the MV).
Right Place, Wrong Person. It's conceptional. The place isn't wrong but he (we) might feel wrong. The conceptual understanding is that we need to find ourselves, our own happiness to feel right wherever we are.
Lee Sung Jin, the MV director, said he and RM shared a lot of stories and came upon a story about a man that was stuck in a house with his PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.
Maybe... RM "wondering in the maze of life", which door we walk through and what remains behind closed doors? Be happy what you want to do, walk away from boxes where others try put you... This is real song what we can really listen, a movie to watch and thoughts to talk about after💜. BTS partnered with UNICEF some time ago. They gave their bonus for their contract renewal yo UNICEF. Plus merch profit from their Love yourself album. That was as a group. On top of group donations they have annual personal donations for their individusl pet causes. These are never generic donations. For instance Jimin fonates to local education sports arts, music and dance. Jimin benefitted from free training so he donates for equipement, scholarships, etc. He keeps the donations local so he can make sure the money gets to the kids.
i think Rm is expected to date and be married by sociaty. but is still being looked at as a child in his parents eyes. all of that must be heavy and he didn´t want any of it. but then he met that girl (healer) who made him explore diffrent things and find himself. but that is just my interpertation.

RM is not an introvert. But he's not too outgoing either, but he is humble. All the girls are different. Every room had a different girl. I believe these are all his memories and in order to move forward into the future, he had to accept his painful past in order to experience the happy memories, and then he would be ready to move on into the future. Just my take. By the way, Yoongi is introverted.

Hi dears. 68yo ARMY here. I've heard that the last girl (they were three different women..four if you count his "mom") represents ARMY and in the end RM realizes he's happy walking through the maze of life with ARMY beside him.

RM is a poet. I think you are being too literal in your reading. There are many interpretations. Here is mine.If you know RMs work every mix tape and album is different from the last. He is continuously pushing boundaries. In way thats what is also happening in the mv. RM wanders around confused and unhappy through all these potential lives and expectations never being comfortable. We see this has been so since he was small. At some point he becomes more comfortable in each scenario but still doesnt stay, he moves on finds himself and accompanies the woman out of the maze of societies expectations to find non of it's real. In the light he sees its all fake sets designed and created by someone else. There are several clues for ARMY buried within the MV. Pain Devine. During a conversation piece with Pharrell Williams they discussed judging lyrics by how painful they are to produce ...pain divine, devine inspiration?

None of these girls are the same people😭😅 im pretty sure the girl he walks out with at the end is kind of a stranger to him compared to the other woman. The girl with lamp is probably an upset girl friend or an ex.
Guys, very, very, very seldom BTS lyrics talk about romantic relationships. Always consider that RM, Suga, Jimin are reflecting their own selves and the “she” is many a time the soul, the mind.💜

The women in each scene are different people. There are five different women. - the wife, a girlfriend, another girlfriend, the mother, and then Kim Minha . Look more carefully.
The last woman is Kim Min-ha and she’s younger than RM lol
Anyway, this is my theory. K-pop stars were never meant to last. they are supposed to be replaced every couple of years with newer younger stars. Almost no K-pop stars have had careers as long as BTS. It’s a very small club.
It’s very likely that they expected to be living normal every day lives by now or at least be a lot less famous. They probably expected to hang out with their regular friends have spouses children. You know every day lives, but that’s not what happened.
To me, this video is describing that strange feeling they might be experiencing when they realize that none of these every day activities feels natural to them anymore.
Is uncomfortable at a party with friends. He feels out of place as a husband and father. He doesn’t know how to negotiate a break up with a girlfriend. He feels weird being back at with his parents visiting them.
He’s wandering around, trying to fit into the right place, but he feels like the wrong person in every situation.
Then he meets Kim Mina, who by the way also became a star almost overnight and it was probably a very disorienting experience for her too in real life. Anyway, they sit down and have a conversation and perhaps realize that they can fit in wherever they want. Then all the scenes replay with RM feeling comfortable as a friend comfortable as a spouse and father, comfortable working things out in a relationship, comfortable with his parents.
Then he and Mina leave the house and go off to find their own right places
