They should bring back Group A cars so people can actually relate to the cars, why even base rally cars on production models if 99% of everything get stripped out?
Group N, N4 and R are more or less showroom stock. Stateside we have Production GT, and Super Production GT cars. But as it is, they are not nearly as spectacular as the Open class cars and therefor just dont get any media coverage despite the rather large number of entries of those classes in rally.

The appearance of that person doesn't really matter to me... She'll have some auto engineer explaining how an engine works and even though you already knew all the answers to what shes asking you guys are satisfied with it because shes nice to look at.

I think these were the ultimate regulations for the WRC cars. Reasonable priced, somewhat stock looking from the outside but still fast. Private teams were able to buy (=afford) and race with these - something that is absolutely impossible with current WRC cars.

Abhishek I believe so. My Mini is pretty heavily modified with an Owen turbo which is the one they use in the Mini Challenge race cars. Not sure if the WRC is the same 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, but if it is, it’s forged and stroked. Get a Mini, they are so much fun to drive!!
RRC is the S2000 1.6T they just donc call it that way (actually, i dont know how prodrive call it) The difference between the WRC and RRC is the turbo restrictor (smaller on the RRC) and the Aero kit which makes it easy to change back and forth depending on the event you're want to run (ERC, WRC...) The engine and gearbox is the same on the RRC and WRC!

i would be nice if there is a race designed to measure the reliability and durability or stock cars only....so i cant help people to choose what car to buy...to me most races are non sense when they use heavily modified cars
If all you have to keep from the road car is the block and the head, whats even the point? You might as well make a car from the ground up just for rallying, it's nearly like that anyways. These WRC cars have pretty much no relationship to the roads cars they're supposed to be based on. It's nothing like a Mini Countryman, its a specially made MINI John Cooper Works World Rally car wearing a Mini Countryman costume.
S2000 cars have a 2000cc naturally aspired engine, which haves quite little in common with a WRC engine. Apart from the engine and gearbox, an S2000 car is quite simmilar to a todays WRC one. As I know, Mini doesn't have an RRC car. Only Ford and Citroen have.

Oh I never knew the front of the Mini road car had a weak front end @ 00:44 the PR guy discusses how weak the car is at the front end and how they strengthen the weakness. Better not buy a mini road car in case I might crash it given its weakness... Facepalm
i hate that here in america rallying isnt popular, instead evveryone wants to go in a circle or a straight line. damn people cant drive so they take the easy route lol. i want to build a group b spec car but nooo no where to race it againts anyone. im very disapointed

Who cares about bodyshell, when nothing else have much common with a roadcar. Modern cars are too crappy for rallying, and modern FIA regulations are too crappy to make this sport interesting again. In 70ties it was different. Rallycar was simply modyfied roadcar, with stronger engine, LSD and different gearbox. Rear wheel drive, low weight and big power made it spectacural as hell, and it was still just an imroved roadcar.
Forget this rubbish, bring back homologation (group a) cars like sierra and escort cosworth, delta integrale, celica gt4, mitsubishi evo, impreza, etc. Why bother to build a rally car for wrc if there isn't a road going equivalent. Manufacturers do it to advertise their cars but their road cars have nothing to do with the rally car. Group 4 was brilliant group a was brilliant Group b was brilliant because they had too much power Wrc is boring, its like group b without the power. With no power group b would have been boring too.
Group B is the best obviously but I like modern rally too. They haul ass even though the cars have less power. I think they can still go pretty fast because they don't have a clutch and an h pattern shifter? Less to think about.
PANTHERBURNS group a was my favourite era, modern wrc cars are very impressive as a piece of engineering but aren't impressive to watch, a highly modified integrale was incredible to watch, a h pattern box, 3 pedals, a car that is adapted for rallying is a lot better to watch than a car built for rallying. And it's more satisfying as i can go and buy one, own one. Not just make do with watching it on tv. I never wanted to just watch a cosworth, i wanted to own one, and we could. I want a wrc car but i can't have one because they don't make them.
I can't believe how many comments about this girl. She's average at best. Having been to the UK tho I had noticed the level of beauty in the girls there was MUCH lower than in the US. I wonder why that is? Smaller gene pool for so much of its history perhaps? I now understand why they call their girls birds there lol. My colleagues there noticed it as well. When they spent a week here on business they went on and on about how beautiful Texas women are.

They come on 3 flavours: WRC, S2000 1.6T (which is basically a WRC with a smaller turbo intake restrictor) and RRC.

Since Prodrive started building them in 2011 (Don't think they built any after that) They only built something like 35.

Some places let you race or build rally cars like group a but even then you are ripping out 80% of whatever car you use still

It's weak FOR RALLYING. Unless you're planning on going full throttle on a bumpy gravel road, i think you'll be fine...
