Almost 2 years ago I had an infection in my arm (I almost died, and I also almost lost my entire left arm). I was quite depressed because after a lot of recovery I could not work from what I always did (Woodworking with cnc machines). Then I decided to go back to repairing desktop computers like when I was younger, but there were already many people doing the same, I could not pay the medical bills. I started studying how to repair laptops, phones, tablets, etc, and I ended up coming to your channel. Thanks to you Sorin today I have a profitable job that I love. Thanks to your desire to share your knowledge today I can have a good life. Then for the third time THANK YOU SORIN!

Since i have found your channel i'm like a child watching cartoons. Some videos i've replay 3-4 times. It is so relaxing and informative. Thanks a lot for the effort Sorin !
Neco Neco stiu stiu. Dar oamenii vorbesc in engleza. Din respect am scris si eu. Sunt mandru ca e roman si ne face cinste prin asta. Romanii sunt inventivi si le merge mintea la rece :)
You may not go "deep" on the repairs, but your depth of knowledge is astonishing and your techniques are terrific. I recently tried my first "glue sandwich" hinge repair and it is rock-solid. You are a blessing and a gift. Thank you for your efforts and I'm so happy to have you posting new videos!
Howdy from Idaho! I have to say Your videos always have so many tidbits of wisdom, not only to do with electronics but other things as well. I always watch your videos to the end because there are so many treasures to be had. I can’t tell you how much your videos have aided my troubleshooting abilities and my confidence. I’m a maintenance tech by trade and so I deal with anything from electronics to motors to valves and your method of troubleshooting has aided me greatly. Thank you, sir. You truly are a master and please keep making videos for us to enjoy and grow from.
In life like your channel I have found that simple, common sense and direct approach to repairing things is best. Your direct and logical approach to diagnosis and repairs are an art form on top of the electronic science. Your teaching style is the best because you explain things so a beginner can understand, follow and really fix things. Nice work. Thank you for your work and helping us.
It would be awesome if you could post links in the description, for all the tools that you bought through the eBay.Cause am considering to start fixing phones and laptops myself and I don't want to buy wrong tools. Seeing you fixing all these different devices with ease it's very inspirational. Thank you for all the great videos and keep them coming.
I absolutely enjoy your common sense approach to troubleshooting electronics. I have learned so much watching you work. You're a great teacher. Thank you so very much for sharing your experience.
Can't believe it. I fixed something electronic for the first time. I would never dream of taking shit apart....but as I was watching I was thinking I got them little tools in my coil build kit for vaping. I was always afraid to open things as I know my memory is really bad and I would not be able to put it back together... My problem was fixed by removing the little battery...thx man I appreciate it .
Your funny sometimes I will never be able to repair tablets like you I would be the one making the problem worse no matter how long I stared at the tablet I would never be able to fix them like you I too have looked at other electronic fix it channels and you are unique in your abilities I think your skills are brilliant you fix all these items without a schematic through knowledge only It takes great skill to do this and you possess this skill Always good to watch your videos There are a couple of Canadian guys similar to you that I watch you all have the experience to fix electronic devices and its always good to watch you repair things yet again you have great skills
I also watch louis jessa chris etc, problem is they lose me after 5 minutes as too technical, YOU on the other hand I can actually understand and follow, because of your videos my successful repairs went up 100% ..
Thanks sir,i like to fix things without schematics. I have no power supply but l will have it in the near future. You are a great teacher for me and electronics is my passion. As graduated in electronics,i have to learn more and more about electronic repair. Thank you again my teacher and have good job
Thank you Sorin for all your hard work, you changed my way of troubleshooting, i recently took a HP DV6-6000 which was dead i did as you did and traced it back to faulty mosfets in the drive stage for the vcore. I also changed the MAX17480G ic and it started working normally PQ104 (fdms7692) was shorted same with some capacitors. But Sorin do not feel bad if your not able to upload more "advanced" repairs as you mentioned before, your channel is the best one on youtube. /Peter
Hi there. How are you this Monday morning? I just want to say thank you for taking your precious time to make the most interesting and educational videos, and teach the interested viewers the basic approach to electronics repairs. There are only two sites that I watch the videos form the beginning to the end. One is yours & other is Louis Rossmann's. And let me tell you, I enjoy them tremendously. Thank you again for the hard works you put into your awesome videos, and good luck!! With Best Regards, Shahbaz
Salut Sorin, am gasit canalul tau din intamplare si de la prima vizionare am reusit sa repar un laptop Asus care nu se alimenta. Multumesc frumos, sunt mandru ca esti roman si ca esti cel mai bun din domeniu, bravo!
Doctor of Electronics I thank you for unlimited patience.. I AM FIXING THINGS DOWN IN AFRICA (ZIMBABWE).. Please give us more vedios patterning how switching power supplies are working Especially on Tvs..Practical vedio l think can be helpful,, once again thanks for the theocratical part Doctor Sorin
Excelent video. You can find shorted caps even if they are no very short. Your knowledge is big, you know how electronics work. And that's why you can play with amps and petrol. I like your style of fixing things.
Hello. First of all thank you very much for investing in this channel, which is at least a place for personal learning and development. I would be happy if you can explain me a little more detailed about the way of finding shorts on boards , and how to identify the voltage line or power line in different devices. Many thanks.
Hey Sorin. My comment was meant in jest and meant to be humorous. Haha. You should of read it all out. My friend your channel is brilliant!!!! I have learnt so much from you. I like all your video's. My actual favourite was your moon night sonata one. Felt i got an understanding of the you. It's not just your video's that everyone loves! It's Sorin. I'm sorry if i offended. If ever i am your way, i will buy you lunch.
Congratulations on your channel. Absolutely, an honor to have input from an experienced electronic repair tech as yourself. Was wondering if you can discuss your USB Volt Meter hook up. It is a valuable tool that I find indispensable.
i like when you tell us some story, i can run the youtube in the background when i have some stuff to do and i can not watch the video...please do more videos like this even about random stuff, i like listening you :)
Wow man, i can't believe we have so much in common :D now i'm 20 years old, and when i watch your videos i feel like i'm watching myself in future. Before 6-7 years i was intrested in sport bikes, but only could afford dirt bike, then i wanted to understand how engines work, after maybe year, i found Fl studio and started make music, had same experience with songs like you said :D you can check what i created in my youtube channel if you want. And now i`m studying computer science university, and i`m extremly intrested in understanding how electronics work. Your videos helps a lot, i had fixed a lot of stuff, but by luck like you said, now i`m starting to understand what is what(still had to destroy some motherboards with 19v on 3.3 rail, but thats how we learn) ;D I could write and write, there are so much to say what we have in common. So happy that i found your channel, keep doing what you doing! Best of luck! :) P.S sorry for my english, i am from Lithuania ;)
Hi mate, instead of using hot glue I usually use super glue. Put a small schamfer on parts to be joined, put on some super glue and sprinkle baking powder on the glue and it goes hard as rock. Just repeat to build it up, hope you like this approach.
I used to do small repairs on the older electronics using similar methods with freeze spray also, but when the smaller smd components came out I gave up and thought it was too specialised. I found your channell by mistake and I'm back into fixing things rather than swapping out boards. I can find the faulty compontent, but I cant always find a replacement of tell what the component is.
Hi sir, another technique to find a short is by connecting your Power supply configured as 100mA and 1.5V, connected directly to your multimeter probes (same polarity), and your multimeter configured in millivolts reading. This is called 4 wire measurement and can be made with a lab power supply. The closest the power leads are to the multimeter leads the better reading you'll have.
Maybe this is not a simple question on a childs toy made by vtech why would I be getting 5.5v nearly everywhere also both the + and - of the speaker output. But can't get a continuity between the usb port outer case to the battery negative input on the board? This would be a short? But to 5.5v not ground?
Just realised my previous question about the vtech toy I know it can't be answered as easy as that but what can I start time check ? I have watched loads of your videos start to end but haven't come across this kind of fault yet and how to approach it
hi! i wanted to ask you. is it more preferable to do ''expensive'' repairs such as iphones touch ic etc.. where you can charge around 80 pounds than charging ports and screen replacements? in my town there are lots of stores doing ''easy'' repairs like touch panel replacements and the prices are very low. on the other hand iphone or mac repairs are expensive and few shops in greece can handle them. i believe that becoming an ''expert'' on one type of repair such as iphones gives you better money. whats your opinion?
ive gotta watch the petrol video. sounds hilarious. crazy i was just wondering about the power supply and air gun. i have watched many of your videos and this particular one i was thinking about purchasing the power supply and you brought it up, i was like woah! i would never be able to do a live stream. your videos are a great help already
The way I see it, cracked the first tablet, lost $500, I humbly watched your videos and saved the replacement tablet, so I saved $500 which I could have lost again. Now I want to prepare ahead and buy tools first before I buy another tablet.
This channel is good because it is not the same thing all thw time. Its, iphone, its Samsung phone, tv, tablet, all kinds of brand stuff. So it makes it interesting to see whats next and how everything is different in side. But the knowledge you teach showing people how to find faults It can apply to all kinds of things. I cant help to think Sorin doesnt use vape juice. He actually vapes his flux. 😂😁. Who needs vape juice. When you make your own liquid flux/juice.
thank you so much sir for your videos ... i am really learning so much from you .....why you don't fix pc desktop motherboards ... i would like to see you do that ..... can you please do a video explaining desktop motherboards power rails and how to check them ...goodluck to you
Yes..i've repair with lucky situations.. my acer laptop died about 5 year (2015)just keeping in the box n store..last weeks after covid19 breakdowns i try to open n check all part than i taking risk to replace powerchip...it alive you know...i tell inteligent member about that...that is your experience lucky...
Hi again could you possibly tell me where to get laptop schematics from online? Really learning massively from you sir your very good at what you do indeed! Thank you for all your videos hope the keep coming thanks again. 👍
Maybe two more ways? 1. Not petrol but alcohol ketonatus (or ketanus?). Might evaporate quicker and cleaner than petrol? 2. Heatcamera? Simple FLIR thingie?
You Can use also a milli-ohmeter there is a kit for about 16$ online ... :) Personally i inject some amps ( Sorin School ) and i Watch the board using a Flir-one
Hi again..As your ffrom another country just thought id say im quarter Hungarian... my grampa escape from fascist in WW11 and land here in the uk.. anyway when you said if i dont have something to learn , im lost..That is exactly how i am...Iv got to keep learning.. Im an game designer by degree 2.1 and 3d artist but originally house dj way back in 87 88.. i started in fl studio . it was called fruityloops back then... i seen it progress from a drum machine to what it is now . a full D,A,W.. Now i use a diff program to create music..its called Ableton... for making music from other music and plugins, vst.s synths. reaktor and the likes its great. have a play with ableton...But fl studio has a great audio engine and great automation. you know how long it took me to learn the basics of music making...20 years...and i learnt to play guitar and play music... i thought i did not have to understand " music" to make it with something like FL but you do..learn an instrument and it will help you so much more... here ill show you my 3d work and my portrait work.. all hand made and painted in a computer with wacom stylus. Another thing, i wanted a rickenbacker guitar like my hero PAUL WELLER.. I could not afford 2 thousand pound so i made my own.. half way down my page you will see my diy ric.. mines the black one on the right the one on the left is a real one. 2 years it took me. as i have no money for parts so i buy 1 part every 2 weeks..lol... www.artstation.com/anthonyjones1 im 50 this august...time flys..when your buzy :)
I question where do you buy the parts for cellphones ? because they are so tiny , and too bad your not in canada , because i would pay you $40 hour to work for me :)
btw what age did you start to learn electronics ??? as a youg guy.... you can now make a song lol...now you understand.. i still struggle with mixdown.. and arrangement....... but i can listen to a melody and figure it out on a midi keyboard.. btw my mother change my name.. my birthname was joseph szabo... lol now i take my step parents name.. if you wondered hahaha.. ground pin..thermal mass is greatest right :)
