    Well done !
You have given a proper way to diagnose and examine the power supplier,
In this case of Voltage instability at the output.
    Thank you

As we speak, I am repairing a zeppelin air - all the electrolytes were dead... and 4 diodes - unfortunately I cannot put hands on a schematic, so it will still be a challenge...

You make the best repair video's. It's almost like a meditation. Sipping some smoke an calm down to get deeper in touch with the fault. Then you Find it and Fix it like a guru. I'm loving it!

Taltech chip you said it right. Yes its like meditation. You feel so calm, introspective, alert and I'm the end you feel exuberant with joy and feel so positive. I've even told Sorin and my friends that you watch one of his videos first thing in the morning and you feel great to take on the day right? That's why I suggested Sorin not to edit his videos and I'm sure he won't do that. Good luck to you and yours, from India. 👍😊

    Sorin, thanks for this video.
Have been doing repairs on PSU for many years, most of them easy, some hard to find the real problem as things interact.
Your way of thinking and explaining on the secondary feed-back to the primary was great !
I have never been thinking about testing the cut-off voltage level, like you have tested the 12 volt on the opto directly, fantastic.
Please keep up the great work and try to enjoy yourself whilst making the videos, like we do watching them :-)

Opto coupler feed back from secondary power which feeds back secondary output voltage to the switching drive IC in primary drive. Drive IC sends pulse width switching pulses to FET which in turn drives primary side transformer . Typical switch mode power supply feedback loop. Your correct. Primary needs to know what secondary voltage is.

Sorin, once again you come thru. I was troubled with a stereo I was repairing for myself. Then the magic came from your mouth, Its usually the 431 that goes bad. I found it as a small smd on the underside of the board. Replaced it and problem solved. It had not broken down completely , it was cutting the voltage down, which was confusing. Thanks again :)

It would be nice if you would do some trouble shooting and repair of cheap video cards off something like ebay so that some of us can learn the correct process. I have tried removing items and checking them, injecting current and voltage without any luck. There are people doing this on expensive cards that look nothing like the cheap cards and they move so fast and with the camera back so far that you cannot see what or were they are checking things. Thanks for your time. Stay safe.

You can't necessarily tell if the capacitors are fine just by looking at them. At least half of the bad capacitors I have found with an ESR meter, looked perfectly fine, but they were causing the units not to power on. I can't believe that you don't have an ESR meter. The "Blue ESR tester" is a great meter because it gives accurate and consistent readings instantly. The very cheap ESR meters can take a very long time to get a reading.

thank you ,i have a problem with this ic tea 1716 in led tv power supply NO POWER, her problem is that it was exposed to high voltage, and I found the main capacitors swollen, I replaced them, but the IC heats up greatly, but it is fine because I removed it and tried it in another card and it worked fine. Where is the problem? Is it in the components surrounding the ic tea 1716? but which pins of ic responsable for overvoltge or which components must be change smd capacitors and resestors or all them.

Oh, Sorin, I can remember those NASTY Telefunken Power supplies, put in those evil corners just under the CRT... There was no space & no way to put it right out on the bench and have some measurements... Also SONY was a terrible thing to repair... domnule Sorin, va rog o parere: am un tv BUSH dled 49 inch. functineaza normal timp de 10-15 minute apoi ramane fara backlight (dispare lumina la display ,tv-ul ramanand in functionare cu sunet si toate comenzile); Daca il reconectez are acelasi simpton (10-15 minute ..).
    Multumesc !
