Nice build! I have an '85 also, identical to yours, but with all stock parts including the Pro Class rims and slingshot stem. Only non-original parts are seat, grips, and tires. These are very nice riding bikes, very smooth and stable. The reach on the slingshot stem/bar combo seems to be bit shorter than the bullmoose bars, in my experience.
I'm a purist but that single blue chain-wheel in the front looks fantastic !! I believe the mongoose ATB might be the strongest bicycle ever made. It was the first production bike designed for mountain biking and they seemed to have over-engineered it. The brake levers were designed to withstand a direct hit of a nuclear warhead and or tree-trunk. It feels like riding a tank but in a good way 😎👍
I don't, frame fork original headset original bottom bracket generic euro came with 2 piece tubular Crankset porkchop sprocket 42, original dia-comp cantilever brakes, sr flutted seatpost, avocet seat, wheel set from 83 schwinn Sierra, bull moose bars vintage
It's all about getting the right color of cable housing. You nailed it.
I just bought one in need of a complete restoration. Mine has the Slingshot stem.
Your video was great and the bike turned out👌🏽
Very cool, slingshot sr stem original equipment, lot of manufacturers ran them. Good luck on the build!

Pork Chop bmx repop mongoose style chain ring fits perfectly
@@hoosiercycles6595 Pork Chop is awesome !! 😃👍
Mine got taken out by a Ford Ranger in '99. Bent the hell out of the frame and the rear wheel set after a 30mph impact.
I do like the cranks on this restore - match the frame nicely.
nice work on both fronts: bike and vid! my favorite bike vid on youtube for reelz
Thank you glad you like. I want to put out more picking up 3 bar schwinn frame for klunker build soon.
Do you happen to have a parts list/ breakdown for your build on this bike
