For a 12 minute video, you got a lot of material in there. Very thorough. You covered practically all the options. Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
Great information for those new to canceling. Another tip I don’t think was mentioned that I did was I switched over to an antenna and a few streaming services months before I actually cancelled my cable. I tested everything it out for a few months to see how I liked it and cancelled cable once I wax 💯 sure. My antenna, DVR and a few paid streaming services work great. And I always look now for deals or switch emails to get better deals..💯approved video 👍👍
Appreciate it! On the back of my parent’s house there’s three different cable boxes from times they switched services. Reminder of what an “event” it used to be to switch providers 😵💫
@ 5G Home Internet services such as through T-Mobile or Verizon are completely wireless. However, yes, it relies on cell towers and satellites. But there’s no cable or fiber optic line leading to your living space.
Thanks for the info. It’s Sad that without climbing up on my roof and putting an antenna up, I can’t watch local tv stations w/o paying an app $60 to $80 a month. Indoor antenna don’t work as well as the old rabbit ears did since they made Broadcast TV Better.
Yup, an Amazon Fire Stick counts as a streaming player. Do you currently have Wifi or an internet provider in your home? You won't need to buy a new modem if you already have internet service.
@@ShallIStreamItAmazon Fire is not a streaming service. It is a device you can use to watch streaming services. It’s like a tablet or computer. You download and install apps that allow you to watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. The most popular apps come pre-installed. If you have internet, you don’t need a separate modem.
I got a xumo box from Comcast but I can’t pause or record live tv. I’m saving 70 bucks/mo but what do I need to add so I can pause/record live tv please help
If your cable and internet are bundled together, you’ll need to cancel your cable bill but keep your Internet plan. You’ll still be able to watch the RUclips app for free with either a smart TV or a streaming player like the ones from Amazon and Roku.
12 Reasons why OTA DRM ATSC 3.0 TV will fail. Just say NO to (DRM). Tell your USA Government about the Hostile Takeover of (OTA DRM ATSC 3.0 NEXTGEN-TV) issues listed below. DRM (Digital Rights Management) Encrypted TV Station's signals. Why? Some 3.0 tuners at this time require you stay on the internet to decode DRM 3.0 TV Stations. Why? 3.0 Currently no 4K and you only get the Simulcasted main channel and no sub channels. Channel Crawling = super slow channel changing (DRM 5 + seconds slow). No sound because of Dolby AC4 audio codec does not have a legal open source license to decode legally on many devices. Some 3.0 tuners have Out of sync audio to video problems. Private Home Networked OTA antenna tuner boxes like (Tablo TV box) can not get official certified approval for DRM ATSC 3.0 NEXTGEN-TV. Why? You may need non OTA home pay internet for updates and to unlock DRM encrypted ATSC 3.0 tv channels. Possible DRM restrictions on DRM ATSC 3.0 recordings and no viewing anywhere on any device with no sound. Emergency alert messages can not be received if DRM is blocking them. OTA DRM ATSC 3.0 TV will fail because the FCC is not going to turn off ATSC 1.0 TV stations for many years if not enough people buy 3.0 TVs and 3.0 boxes. No one has solve the problem of no government money for free DRM 3.0 TV tuner boxes because 1.0 TV turners and recorders will not work after that TV Station switches to 3.0 TV broadcasts. (Range and signal error correction) OR (more sub channels and near 4k picture) trade off problem. FCC is not forcing any 1.0 TV Stations to move over to 3.0 TV. So some TV stations will be on 1.0 and others will be on DRM 3.0. The FCC is only allowing OTA Simulcasts of the ATSC 1.0 main channel at this time on DRM ATSC 3.0 NEXTGEN-TV. DRM ATSC 3.0 is a not finished product and is a work in progress mix of unproven ideas that has never gotten full FCC approval at this time. Software updates for 3.0 tuner boxes may be needed for changes made to the unfinished and future added new official ATSC 3.0 standards modules. Patent License problems. LG no longer sells TVs with ATSC 3.0 tuners. Some 3.0 TV tuners companies may go out of business or stop updates leaving you with no DRM or software updates. OTA ATSC 3.0 is better but is not perfect and still can be affected by weak tv signals: (distance, weather, planes, trees, buildings, trucks, poor antenna, etc). FCC rules that 5 percent of old ATSC 1.0 coverage area does not need to be covered anymore = (SHORTER RANGE). Viewing zone outside of your 15 minute city or town could be blocked. Your TV viewing habits could be tracked by your serial number or IP address. ATSC 3.0 is updatable until it is not updatable without new hardware tuners (ATSC 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0......). Some of these 3.0 TV issues may be fixed over time. This is only some of the mess with DRM ATSC 3.0 TV. This is my opinion why DRM ATSC 3.0 TV will fail. IMO. Stay on OTA 1.0 TV until DRM is removed from OTA ATSC 3.0 by law. It is the people versus the hostile takeover by private DRM 3.0 TV stations for control over the USA public airwaves. IMO 2024.
Man, you should post that on every tech channel out there. The FCC is letting the providers dictate the terms. You should not have to have an internet connection to watch free over the air signals. There is no reason they need DRM other than wanting to track you and make you buy new equipment. I hope the FCC grows a pair, but I have little hope with the next administration.

Thank you and good tip! It's always good to test things first.
👏Excellent video, as usual. An other often overlooked benefit of cord cutting is never having to rely on a service technician or expensive equipment.
Appreciate it! On the back of my parent’s house there’s three different cable boxes from times they switched services. Reminder of what an “event” it used to be to switch providers 😵💫
but you still need good fiber or copper line connection!

I got this SuperBox S3 Pro from Walmart. It's free and a one time purchase. There are no monthly subscription fees.
First time viewer, you did a good job. I will check out some of your other videos. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you find the other videos helpful. Thanks for watching!

I still have cable, I do some streaming and physical media.
Lots of people are in that category- "double dipping" between cable and streaming.
wow is me since RedBox went belly up. How do I get the latest movies now. Love my blue ray player!
So, purchasing an Amazon Fire stick is considered a streaming player? Do you know if I will have to purchase a modem, also? Thanks for your response.

Cut the cord from cable/satellite tv
My tv is 8 years old. We have wifi cable. If I drop the cable subscription, how do I see my You Tube app?

AT&T now doesn't even require you to turn in your players and DVR when converting over to internet TV! They want you off Uverse TV!
if you have a family it's not any cheaper than cable and don't have to deal with all the ads that overlap on the streaming channels.

People are literally paying for commercials. I don't understand why ANYONE would watch cable tv.
Commercial-free is a nice option to have!
