Meet Charlie Hunter, an irascible and charismatic painter from Bellows Falls, Vermont, whose paintings wistfully observe a memory of what American manufacturing once symbolized.
I could watch Charlie every day. He is wise, unexpected, and kind. Visionary regarding arts communities replacing the broken factories of long ago. Wonderful film. Kudos to the filmmaker(s) and of course, Charlie.
What a clever and delightful portrait of the Boy from Bellows Falls, Charlie Hunter. One day, when we cross paths, I'll relate my own stories of steam trains in Australia.
The more videos I watch with Charlie Hunter...The more I feel connected and based on my surroundings, I see old film footage that takes me back unwillingly at first to another time, and then as I walk away from my desk, I feel so so much more connected and involved with the past and future melted together and I know the rest of today and tomorrows will always be there, just more stop down the line !!!
I especially like Charlie's comments about painting objects that have a dignity, a spirit. That idea resonates. It's a similar feeling to Richard Schmid's Skagway Trawler.
"Don't follow the crowd" I swear to god, there are higher percent of people following the crowd today than ever before in human history, both in art and other aspects of life. It is like their parents ask them what they wanted to be? They replied, "I want to be boring like the others!" I want to learn to do those abstracts with a sponge, paste some text, make scratch marks , and sprays of round dots. Maybe I will throw a shoe or two." It's not sad that they do it. It is sad that they are both content and pleased. The squirrels in my yard have more creative ambition!
Haunted very very talented very unique work love it very much I'm sure he's a great human being the only one thing then ( I find distasteful it's his potty mouth) 😢
It is as if perhaps he's had a little bit too much to drink...😪... very distasteful... no offense intended. I like the guy hey it's just as unique as his paintings❤
Wow! Now a new fan of Charlie Hunter’s artistry. It sort hit me all at once …how good he is. As in “ I know it when I see it.” Loved the video too.
Love him - he cracks me up!
You are my kind of artist Charlie! Love your work and bought a squeegie….keep on painting until you keel over…that’s my plan!
At the very least, you will have access to cleaner windows.

My friend Whit did a wonderful job. Thank you for watching!

That came from the 1978 song Boogie Oogie Oogie by A Taste of Honey
@@lkd06 - an inspiration to us all, a Taste of Honey is.
Thanks for this. You have not only talent for painting but are indeed a motivation in an upside-down way. This is a compliment
The cats think you are very wise.

And not only that, the squirrels are much better at getting the birdseed.
