I found Daniel through the oil painting tutorials of a young artist whose name I forgot in my throat and watched a few of his outdoor painting videos. I watched this film about Him, I spent about 2 hours by frequently repeating some of the portions and making screenshots of his works and his life. He is really a Great Artist and spiritually matured. He is much better than to become my mentor and role model since I'm too old to learn his kind of stunning and amazing painting. I'm almost 78 years old and thinking to paint to fulfil my childhood desire of painting, not for success or money, but for the pleasure of self satisfaction and for fun. By watching this film, I am enshrined fair enough of inspiration to go for my personal journey of painting. Thank you so much Mr. Daniel Sprick and makers of this brilliant film.
I thank God for your Biblical paintings and pray that as you delve into these passages, God will continue to speak to you and will use your paintings to speak to others. ❤️
Wow ! What an absolutely fantastic documentary & what a wonderful modern master ! I’ve been a fan of Richard Schmidt ( R.I.P.) & David a Leffell & of course Andrew Wyeth, thank you (you tube) for introducing this English man onto yet another genius American painter.
His palette/colours in his portraits portray an unusual glow almost close to death looking tones and hues...certainly glowing but somewhat macabre, especially around the eyes...great work.
Yes I was feeling Andrew Wyeth and hoping that someone would see a relationship and parallel in a different direction. Beautiful, unique intricate, thought provoking, brilliant.
Probably my favorite artist. I recall seeing his work in a gallery in Cherry Creek North, long ago. I think it was the Broadway bridge. Mundane subject but done in a way that made it incredible. I've followed his work since then.
An amazing record of this skilled artist, he seems to paint what he feels and amazes the viewer with his use of light and paint. So much dimension and beauty.
im so glad dan kept his passion alive i didnt start painting until 36 years old im 61 now and still learning ive never made art to sell only few got sold i have hundreds of art works on paper
I find this a beautiful and inspiring video of Daniel Sprick who I have greatly admired for quite some time. It has conveyed the theme of its name and given me much excitement to continue my own work, and much calm to do so. Thank you to all those involved in making this gift. from Marilyn Bailey in a small village in the South East England 28th March 2020.
Thank you Marilyn. This is why we do what we do - because every once in a while it can touch someone like you. Please share the documentary with others who you feel might appreciate it. Best regards and thanks!
I'm not a fan of hyper realistic art work, technically it's impressive but in my opinion it's mostly vapid, uninspired. Daniel Sprick's work is on a much higher level, it's stunning, deep, soulful, his portraits are sublime. I'm so glad I came across this video and his work.
OK. I get the idea of 'not tracing' a drawing onto the canvas or in Daniel's case, learning to define the composition by sketching straight into the canvas with a charcoal stem. But transferring the drawing onto the canvas via artificial means is as old as the hills, i.e., Vermeer and his camera-obscura. Having said that, to paraphrase Leonardo Da Vinci, if the painting composition doesn't seem to be working, go back to the beginning drawing. Artists are masters in shortcuts, and I haven't met many painters who are also lacking somehow in draughting skills or whose paintings suffer from that particular choice. Mr. Sprick is an exceptional artist. Do what you need to do to succeed in executing your composition, and in the future, if you need to dispense with it, all the better.

Simply beautiful !
WOW...Daniel is new to me! What amazing talent!!!
Both "truth" and "beauty" are very subjective - so you can pursue it as much as you want, but beauty will always be in the eye of the beholder.
One of the best films about life, and struggles as an artist, very informative and inspirational !
Thank you Wayne - this film about Daniel Sprick was a joy to make.

Мастерство высокое, но это к искусству не имеет отношения - это нужно показывать в цирке.
