I was hoping the guy was going to spin around the pole at 217 mph.

Stick a GoPro in the cars window.

At that speed for the size of the car it will cause an imbalance in the aerodynamic system around the scale car and would prolly lose control or limit its maximum speed or something idfk

I was curious so I looked into some numbers. With lines (or a radius) typically of roughly 10 meters or 35 feet in length the centrifugal force at speeds above 200 mph would exceed 91 g's. Cars weigh between 2 to 6 pounds. Assuming all weight classes are capable of speeds above 200 mph (?) that means the tension exerted on the steel cable would range upward from about 180 pounds for the lightest cars to above 550 pounds for the heavier models. Some of those little cars therefore attain an apparent weight of well over a quarter of a ton.
Sounds like an episode of mythbusters lol

Theres a wall around the outside edge of the car and the car has more than enough down force to stay on the ground. If the line broke the car would mostly act the same way as it does when they cut the power to it; it'd just coast to a stop.
If the car was going to go flying up or anything it would do that even with the tether there since the tether doesn't actually apply any down force to the car until the car gets above the tether
Lot of centrifugal force=lot of friction the car probably won't leave the track

A centripetal force (from Latin centrum, "center" and petere, "to seek") is a force that makes a body follow a curved path. Its direction is always orthogonal to the motion of the body and towards the fixed point of the instantaneous center of curvature of the path. Isaac Newton described it as "a force by which bodies are drawn or impelled, or in any way tend, towards a point as to a centre".

"Tether car racing is one of the least known, but most spectacular modeling hobbies. The cars run without radio control on a smooth concrete circular track held by a cable 33 ½ feet (10 meters) long. The car and metal cable are attached to a steel post in the center of the track. At top speed, the cars are nearly invisible to the naked eye. They complete a lap around the track, (over 200 feet), in less than one second! With engines turning 30,000 RPM, they sound awesome as they pour out horsepower."
Competitions are held at local, national and international levels. There are several different classes of cars. Classes are regulated by engine displacement, model size and weight, etc.

RUclips has taught me that when I retire I can do all the things I thought up when I was a kid.
"Of course this is just a driverless scale model prototype, the full-size version will go 10x faster."
What happens when that line wraps around your leg
We will need to know the mass (m) of that little car to estimate that, but leaving that as a variable, we can figure out the rest:
At most, it will yank on your leg with a force of: (m x v^2)/r
Where: r = radius, v = linear velocity = 247 kmph (65 m/s)
At linear velocity of 247 kmph (65 m/s) if it is taking ~1 sec to travel the entire circumference, then radius r = 65/(2*pi) = 10.3 m
So, the force it yanks on your leg with = m x 65 x 65/10 = 422.5 x m Newtons.
Assuming 1 kg for car mass, that is 422.5 Newtons, or just 10% of the force it takes to break the femur (according to the first result on google).
So, not much I guess.
