I can't understand why he felt so bad for using his own songs. I'm pretty sure this is the whole point of this segment - give the artist the opportunity to interduce the channel's audience to his own material.
One of my absolute favorite things about Niall is his vast knowledge and love of music going back 5+ decades, multiple genre's, etc. I may be the only one here, but I was not surprised at all that his head did not go automatically to the 1D songs when he has so much music in his memory bank.
