Great response. Acceptance and letting go is the lack of our internal resistance of the ego-mind. Where there is no resistance, there is no suffering. Ironically, this letting go doesn't mean to give up either.
🎉Ma Sharada said, "Sorrow is like water flowing under a bridge-always passing, never permanent." Nothing in this world lasts forever, and realizing this brings true peace and fulfillment. Thank you, Swamiji, for beautifully explaining the nature of sorrow. 🙏
Waiting for the darshan of Maa Kamakhya, and watching this video, it gives me tears to my eyes as to all I see around, the people, the goats, the air I breathe, the sound of the birds and bells, the cries of children - all is Brahman. All is Shiva. All is me. Hari Om!
This reminded me of one of my favorite stories of Sri Ramakrishna. He was towards the end of his life and dying of cancer. There was no treatment for cancer in India at the end of the 19th century, just waiting while your body rots from the inside out. He would sometimes be lost in pain, but at other times lost in bliss. A devotee asked him "how can you find bliss in your situation", to which He replied by smiling, pointing at His body and saying "just a pillow case".
This is such a great teaching, all is included. I was listening to the whole session, and it did felt outstanding :) Thank you for posting it seperately as well.
Sorrow is mostly misinterpretation of things in the world. Such misinterpretations happen because of bad software (preconditioning, memory, etc) in the brain. Remove such software or stop using such software for a life filled with bliss. We let go of so many things in life but choose to hang onto few that eventually lead to misery. It is always our choice. Happiness or sadness is a choice.
Thank you very much, Sir, you always bring so much clarity to the principles and practice. It is clear that you have spent a lot of time studying the relevant ancient texts. My Best part of your answer to this particular question is that "Sorrow is also part of "Brahman" a.ka. "the Ultimate Reality" a.k.a "the supreme God" a.ka. "the "divine consciousness". P.S. As I understand it, Sorrow cannot be the absence of bliss, for, like the two inseparable parts of coin monies, we would not know sorrow, if we did not know bliss. Acceptance and Equanimity are sure paths to peace.
To Realize God is Behind Everything Good or Bad..To Realize our True Nature is Divinity through a Pure Heart Puts An End to All Sorrow... Everything is You.. Tat tvam Asi.. Shivoham Shivoham Shivoham

Swami Vivekananda told to banish the evil spirit of fear and in 3 days sorrow will disappear from the world. Sorrow arises from past, present and future considerations. The past is dead. Fear enshrounds thoughts of present and future. Hence sorrow results. Banishing fear leaves the spirit as it is Sat - Truth, Chit - Consciousness and Ananda - Bliss; banishing sorrow ❤❤❤
Learning:- 1. Sorrow - things which are not in place 2. Nature of sorrow: - karan drushti, vastu drushti, sadhan drishti 3. How to understand sorrow: - what causes sorrow a. By three factors - environment, other living being, body and mind b. Perception of sorrow in mind c. Abhimaan - means accepting that perception - what it is made of a. Prakriti parinam (effect of continuous change) b. Brahma vivakta (appearance of brahma) c. Brahma swarum - what can be done about it a. It is grace of God b. This is by bad karma c. Shut down movement of senses d. Offence against knowledge - everything is equal
19:22 Sorrow is brahman itself. So this is the final conclusion. Its nothing other than self refuted philosophy. I came here to find solution to suffering and get rid of suffering. Now it says suffering is brahman itself. If thats true I cant think about get rid of suffering, because suffering itself is I. Then how could I free from suffering
Everything, and by that I mean everything, is but a vector in Hilbert space. You, your thoughts, this universe, everything that exists as such, are all vectors. To pick a technical point though, they are really density matrices in Hilbert space, a concept that generalises the concept of a vector. What is Brahman then? It's the essence of these vectors, much as water is the essence of everything watery. So whatever you experience, whatever touches you is really nothing but that essence, much as whenever a wave touches you, it's really nothing but water. This is why the Gopis asked for grief when summoned by Krishna to solicit a boon for themselves, they knew, it's through grief that they would be in constant touch with Him. As Tagore said, সুখে আমায় রাখবে কেন গো, রাখো তোমার কোলে, যাক না গো সুখ জ্বলে।
"sorrow is an offense against enlightenment" this is going to stick with me forever.
