The R34 has always been one of my favorite vehicles. For all of you readers out there wondering, no, I'm not a 12 y/o fanboy (I'm actually 15). I actually like the R34 for what it is. Here me out, this is one of the few cars that started it all for me. There's just something about the look of the car and the beautiful, amazing sounding RB (especially the RB26). It is probably not the smartest idea to buy some skyline for my first car, but I'm highly considering it.
Would definitely recommend getting something reliable under 10k (at most) and start maintaining/modding that and seeing how you like doing that (that way if you also get to learn things before going straight for the skyline). You also have to think about part availability and the tools you need to buy to work on the car. Gas prices are also pretty high almost everywhere so Skyline may not be a good daily. Unless you already have a daily car in case your skyline breaks or have the $$$ to do everything then ignore anything I say lol
I’m not a pessimistic person and I do hope one day you’ll have one, but the reality is far different unfortunately. I was 15 too about 13 years ago (yes I’m old) and when I was in high school, R32 and R33 Skylines were just becoming legal here in Canada and back then (before social media) seeing one in real life was an EVENT! prices for 32 & 33 GTRs were going for $10K-$20K CAD and by the time I grew older and was actually able to afford one…I couldn’t. So I imported a 98’ LanEvo V instead. There are far more interesting and fun JDM cars out there, don’t get caught up in the hype. I was wippin that Evo way before Adam LZ ever had one. Now I have an MR-S and next year I’m thinking of importing an Evo 8 or 9. Look for the hidden gems, you won’t look back.
The reason why I’m into the 90s Japanese cars in the U.S was because of Need For Speed Underground. I remember I started playing it in 2009 and I was just was in kindergarten and I didn’t know what I was doing but I found it fun. I thought the cars in the game were cool because of how they were customized. Also, the first 4 fast and furious movies made me like the Japanese cars. Every time when I see a rare Japanese Car like a Mazda RX7 FD or a Nissan Skyline GTR on the street or passing by, I get shocked because it’s rare and beautiful to look at in real life. My dream Japanese cars is a Nissan Silvia S14 and S15, Mazda RX7 FD, Nissan Skyline R34 and R33GTR, a Honda Prelude and a 1994 Honda Accord.
They’ll be worth in a couple years when the hype finally dies, people say the prices are high because there old but like 3/4 years ago they were almost ALL under 10k, it’s the damn TikTok hype
Kouki S14 Silvia K for me...I’m currently saving up to import one and at my current rate I should be able to get one from a Japanese auction and bring it over by the end of this year/beginning of next depending on what’s available. Having the money is part one...finding one worthy of bidding on and actually winning said bid is the other part of the story 😅
@@pA-yy-A depends what Supra were talking about. The MK4, looking at the cheapest examples, you're looking for ~$30k. The GR or Miata/"Supra", you're looking at ~$40k and the stigma of driving a Miata. My mostly stock SRT-4 swap runs 12.6 @110 with no spray. All in, I think I'm at about $2600, keep up with nearly everything in Mexico, no one has ANY IDEA, insurance and registration are $45 a month and $25 a year respectively. You can have the Japanese stuff.
I’d import a S14 kouki, IMO it’s the best looking out of all the S chassis and I love the RB20, I’ve heard nothing but great things about how easy they are to drift and how fun they are to drive

The answer is yes. I bought a USDM 1992 Honda Accord coupe (CB7), BUT in JDMLand, my car came there also as a LHD model titled U.S. Accord Coupe from Honda. So, technically I can turn my USDM model into a JDM model with a couple of options and trim pieces, of which I have acquired. To others, it's just a Honda Accord but when you start looking closely or the obvious (fog lights, corner lights, bumper pole) you notice it's something different but familiar. I love it. I've got a "jdm" car that was sold right here in the U.S. (then imported to Japan).
Perfect video and the background music was awesome too. I like the r33 most. It's underrated and is just as capaple as the other skylines. It's way cheaper too.
I like the GT-R Skyline Series, mainly for thier timeless designs and all being powered by engine so powerful that even motorsports had to ban it from being used. Also the very pretty paintjobs like Midnight Purple III, Bayside Blue, Gun Metal Grey, etc.
I have a JDM 1998 Subaru B4 RSK Twin turbo 280hp but now 330hp. This car is a sleeper and I do the 0-60 in 5 sec. Plus the car is dirt cheap paid $2000 because it is underrated.
I bought my R33 GTR from Toprank almost 3 years ago. She sat in Japan for almost a year before I could see her. As soon as she got to the states LEGALLY I sent her to HP Logic for the RB26 upgrades. My story is short sweet and simple. I fell in love with the 400R on Gran Turismo in 1998. Just like my women I like my cars to have curves and the 33 scratches all those itches. I knew I could never afford a 400R so I asked the guys at HP Logic to make me a poor man's version and they did.
I bought myself a 96 Toyota soarer TT, bone stock and absolutely gorgeous. Dailying this beauty in spite of everyone’s opinion that it’s a shitbox. There’s just something so special about a 25 year old car that looks and drives nicer than what’s coming out today. I’m planning to maximise reliability and update the interior with better speakers, touchscreen head unit etc so it’s on par with modern cars in terms of driver ease of use goodies but still oem OG
It's the feeling of them, they look great. It's Frome a time where technology and reliability was in good balance. It doesn't matter if other engines ar more powerfull. They are cars that makes you feel. You want to look at it and you want to walk backwards every time you leave the car just to look at it as long as possible. The thought of the car waiting for you in the parking lot when you get off frome work makes you smile. Then it do not matter which car it is as long that it have that magic feeling. It's like finding love
300zx 2+2 TT. The 2+2 to me is the best looking car from the 90s. Lower it slightly, get some nice wheels and tires, and add a slightly aggressive front bumper and its perfect looks wise. For power you can get to 500hp with the stock internals which to me is plenty. I just need to be able to take down all the stock mustangs driving around the KC area lol. The engine for sure can be a pain because of no room to work but if you take your time and be realistic about what you need to do it can be amazing.
the ek9 because it's one of the beautiful hatchback and the s15 because it's beautiful seems to handle very well and with that sr20 it sounds beautiful

I like your thinking good sir
SRT4's are sick
And immediately set it on fire, for my own pleasure!
I'd buy a over priced Japanese car im not a fan of muscle cars
@@pA-yy-A depends what Supra were talking about. The MK4, looking at the cheapest examples, you're looking for ~$30k. The GR or Miata/"Supra", you're looking at ~$40k and the stigma of driving a Miata. My mostly stock SRT-4 swap runs 12.6 @110 with no spray. All in, I think I'm at about $2600, keep up with nearly everything in Mexico, no one has ANY IDEA, insurance and registration are $45 a month and $25 a year respectively. You can have the Japanese stuff.
I’d import a S14 kouki, IMO it’s the best looking out of all the S chassis and I love the RB20, I’ve heard nothing but great things about how easy they are to drift and how fun they are to drive
bro its my dream car
RB20 the best sound of all RB
S14’s are SR20 not RB20…
Nissan 300zx I like the z because it was my first JDM car it was a 1985 2+2 n/a and now I currently own a 92&93 slick top and t-top 300zx
Every 300 zx owner loves their cars until they have to do maintenance on the engine then they regret the day they bought them. However i do love the way it drives and looks
Honestly the z32/fairlady z is a gem to me it looks beautiful
I want a Chaser sooo badly. Haven't seen a build that looks bad. They are just always hella beautiful. A drift itasha is like *the* dream!
92 R32 GTR, All i gotta say is, it is hottttttt. Just the sleek body the tail lights, Sounds great. It has been my dream JDM car since I saw it for the first time in Initial D
The Altezza Rs200z is my soul mate of a car because so many of its characteristics match mine, loml! Yes sir Alex. Doesn't scream" "GORGEOUS!" initially but once over the looks, you get addicted - much like your boy. Also it's subtle and graceful in its ways, and is understated, much like I try to be. And certainly, it cleans up nice, much like myself 🍂
Evo9, bc it looks beautiful and is a killer rally car.
Subaru Sambar Dias 2. The only Kei van from the era that came with a 4 cylinder with 660cc of displacement. RHD, auto or 5 speed, Subby standard AWD, a ton of space in the back and it comes with a tiny blower to make MO POWAH BABY!! If I could find one, I’d pick it up immediately
toyota mr2, not a lot of people build them and i just think it’s a gorgeous silhouette and platform
if the LFA counts as JDM, I call it my favorite JDM legend. Mothra is so damn rare, looks gorgeous, and has a sound that cannot be found anywhere else. It's a gem that we will probably never see again
It counts. Excellent taste, friend. Carry on my good man, carry on.
@@Juan_Solo84 Me carrying on would result in me trying to twin procharge Mothra and push the 1LR-GUE to its breaking point tho so idk if the purists would appreciate that xD
@@Aether52 I mean, I wouldn't do that. Not cuz I'm a purist. More so cuz so much science and engineering went into it I wouldn't need more than it gives. But also money.
Doesn't mean people wouldn't wanna see it. Purists may not appreciate it, but I don't think that would stop them from watching what it could do if someone tried.
Rx7 FC3S. Easily one of the best and most iconic cars for me and I just resonate with it's vibe. Sure it's a rotary, sure it's not the best gen rx7 but I just love the car and I really wanna own one! Hope I can make my dream come true!
Coming from a 3000gt owner I love the shit boxes known as 90's JDM lol
92-96 Honda Prelude
-Body lines
-front end
-back end
-retro/futuristic dashboard
-comfortable bucket seats
-reliability
-handling
-H22 DOHC VTEC
I’m gonna be that guy, the 98-99 Honda Accord wagon SIR editions are something I look forward to importing in the next few years. Their bodies are so beautiful and they’ve aged really well
There are too many wicked 90’s JDM cars, but the WRX STI’s have my heart for the boxer rumble and rally heritage 🔥🔥
300zx; Timeless lines
“So you want a 2nd gen Lexus IS”
Yes.
Been asking for it but at the same time don’t want it to, I like that it’s a hidden gem
i know no one asked but IM ALMOST FINISHED WITH MY DRIVERED ED!!!! Your boys gonna be driving soon!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Whats gonna be your first car?
Aye let's goooo
@@FitmentIndustries I know where imma get my wheels, tires, and suspensions 👀👀👀👀
@@San-uv9ue since I live in the Midwest, my parents want me to get an awd car… plus I need one that’s low cost so I was maybe thinking a Subaru Impreza wrx, or like a evo rally art… something like that. Idk tho
@@anutyeher1362 ay I live in the midwest too, I'd say go for a wrx bro, Im saving up for mustang but wrx's are hella fun to drive
you won't regret it
Just bought a RHD FD. And I feel accomplished
My favorite 90s jdm car is the Nissan 300zx because my grandpa has one and it’s my favorite because of its looks and the styling
I love the Civic, it was my first car in Underground 2 and I fell in love with it.
mitsubishi lancer evo 5. love the bug eye fog lights on the front and just the look of the car itself makes it my favorite
RX7, ever since I saw Han Drive the Orange one in the body kit in Tokyo Drift, I fell in love, and also gotta love the NSX because Japanese Ferrari
FD Rx7, they’re surprisingly small, I’ve only seen one in person but the body lines on that thing are beautiful
Very awesome cars.
Evo Viii/ IX , a mixture of rally fantasy nd decent road look
Rx7 fd a rotary with less problems than others + crazy hot look
I’m planning to maximise reliability and update the interior with better speakers, touchscreen head unit etc so it’s on par with modern cars in terms of driver ease of use goodies but still oem OG
yoooooo they did the thing!! this was my video suggestion!
My favorite JDM legend is a Honda NSX they look beautiful and well pop up headlights
The JDM CRX SIR was fucking gorgeous with its b16 in the front and the glass roof top. Beautiful.
My favourite, 99 Legacy b4 rsk. Done up they are gorgeous
I have a 1998 RSK, i love that car especially when the big turbo kick in ! It is such a sleeper too. They are insanely cheap to buy.
There's nothing I want more rn than a late 90's early 2000's nissan stagea, imo, a r33-34 for a quarter of the price and even more practical
Midnight Club game is what got me into these cars
Owning a JDM car - especially a modified one - takes passion, becomes a lifestyle. I miss my 240sx.
Prelude VTEC, 4th generation. Still my dream project.
the ek9 because it's one of the beautiful hatchback and the s15 because it's beautiful seems to handle very well and with that sr20 it sounds beautiful
LETS GET THEM TO 800K BEFORE SEMA
I’m afraid I won’t even be able to get my hands on one anyway as time marches on
Non jdm cars are good too
Early lexus cars were dope and had lots of aftermarket potential
I wanna get a 400z within the next 5 years I feel like they will appreciate a lot
@@pA-yy-A because none of them came with turbos the last one that did was the 300 and it did appreciate also it will be their last turbo v6 with a manual tranny. Do some research before you talk but I bet you aren't even smart enough to check your notifications and read this.
@@pA-yy-A how can you say the 400 didn't appreciate when clean examples are still on the low end 30k? I don't think you know what yr talking about bud even the horrible example that I had that I'm surprised still drove sold for 10k because it was a turbo manual
@@pA-yy-A come talk when you have actually owned a Z
@@pA-yy-A if you even pay attention the professionals are all saying what I'm saying.
