Great job!! You fellas are more effective with bolt guns and sub-sonic ammo than many people are with super sonic ammo and ARs. It still shocks me to see how much of a weapon the subsonic ammo actually is in practice. I didn't think it would be lethal out to the ranges you gentlemen are using it, but it is working wonderfully. Much respect from the states!
Great shooting Rod, you must have felt like you'd won the lottery with that amount pigs wiped out. The footage you provided was great to watch as always. Job well done.
Cheers mate. We knew prior to arriving that there were quite a few about. The key to success and culling big numbers is the ability to work in sync with your shooting partners. Good comms and strategies are a must. 👊
@@RJMHuntingAustralia yup given the rapport you and Nathan have that's what aids your success. As I said a job well done. Looking forward to the next video.
Those subsonics are an edge which really helps you to get as many pigs as possible. Good haul! There is no question that if you were using normal rounds, the mobs would scatter to the wind and your numbers would be much lower. Do you load your own rounds? When using subsonic, do you have to choose a lighter bullet, or can you use the same ones you use for normal levels of propellant? Different powder? Less of it? Need to use some cotton (or equivalent) to hold the powder in the case? Just curious - great results and thanks for the videos! Much appreciated!
Hey Sam, Glad u like the videos. With the subs, heavier is better. I usually run 135gr on 150gr supersonic. I run 190gr projectiles subsonic. Yes, I reload my own using TrailBoss powder as it is bulky and no packing is required.
Wow, that was just an ungodly amount of pigs. Well done! I know it's a job but it looks like fun too. No pigs out here, My own little plot of Paradise in the USA.
Great shooting gents. As contract shooters, are you limited in the number of rounds you can fire in a day, or is it use as many as you've got as long as there are pigs in your sights? I'm not a shooter but appreciate what you and Nathan do (and enjoy it too).
What grain bullets do you fullas use? And at what point do you have to start using holdover, every video I’ve seen you just put it on them or in front if there on the run, great vid👌
I have a job next year getting pigs out of the family's cotton fields. Did you see any pigs on this trip in the cotton and if so was it hard to make them out in the thermal?
Great going knocking over all those pigs and foxes. Are you allowed suppressors because you're contract shooters? With our feral problem in Australia, it seems hunters would be at an advantage with suppressors as it doesn't startle every other animal or property owner in the area.

We don't eat the pigs due to the potential diseases they carry. As to what happens to the carcasses, it depends on the property. Collected and burnt, others burried or left in situ to return to the pasture as fertiliser
Hey mate, great content. Quick question, as i cant seem to find any decent information about it online, what do you guys usually do with carcasses? do farmers take some/all of them for human/pet meat? does an abbatoir or someone buy them? curious to know. Also, id be interested in knowing how to go about getting into contract shooting, is it a sustainable single income job? and whats the go with training and licenses. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work mate :)
Not really something you would be able to do as full time employment unless you could pick up some bug commercial contracts. Abbotoirs can't take dead animals and the whole harvesting for pet food is complex and requires access to a local chiller. I don't have a chiller within practical driving range for me so the farmers just collect the carcasses and dispose of them either by burial, burning or used as fertiliser
Was a great trip mate. Uber keen to get back out there with you guys 💪

Nitcore. www.liteshop.com.au/content/nitecore-nu17-dual-output-130-lumen-lightweight-rechargeable-led-headlamp/

135gr or 150gr projectiles, supersonic in the 308. Hold point blank out to 210m on average sized pigs. Roughly 6" drop at 250m and 13" at 300m Joel.

They are cannibalistic Julian. The pigs are either left in situ of dragged to a dead pit. Depends on the property owner 👊

In NSW you can apply for a prohibited weapons permit as a contract shooter. Still plenty of red tape and generally a long drawn out process.

In this area some carry disease so we don't utilise them for food mate.
@@RJMHuntingAustralia ahh ok, always wondered. I know in some places they are able to process them. 👍🏻 is that in most of Australia?
