SHOOTING RATS▪︎300 DOWN▪︎.22 AIR RIFLE

- This chicken farm is totally overrun by rats. 🐀 I've never seen an infestation like this before. Shooting with the .22 calibre FX Impact is the perfect control measure. We managed to eradicate over 300 rodents in 2 hours.
First outing for the new Pard SA62-45 thermal scope. Lightweight and perfectly balanced on the FX Impact M3 made for a very comfortable shooting combination. Ammunition used was the Hades 15.89gr pellets @ 630 fps to help mitigate any risk of collateral damage to the infrastructure. A great result for the client and a heap of fun reducing the rat numbers.

The whisper comments while you're working are hilarious.
"well he's a big bastard..." 😂
I just can't help myself. 🤦♂️😅
I like that you always go for a second shot when they are struggling. They may be pests but they dont deserve to suffer, they didnt choose to be pests!
Great respect!
Appreciate that mate. 👊
😂
@@RJMHuntingAustraliaDo you have a link for all of your equipment?
@angelasingh8538 all the product information is in the video description as well as my affiliate link. 👌
That was astounding. I've never seen so many rats in one place. Love the range finder in that unit brother. The ballistic x along the crosshair and small text with the range indicated is very slick.
Thanks brother, very cool feature. Took a bit of fine tuning to dial it in but worth the effort 👌
G'day mate. Are you still putting out videos? From memory you were putting out coyote control/culling videos a few years back. Maybe thinking of someone else.
@@zalired8925 heya brother... Yeah I'm still killing coyotes and posting mainly to Facebook! Awesome memory you have!
@@BossPredatorAcoustics Thanks mate, I'll look you up.
@@BossPredatorAcoustics please have a look at Australian mouse plagues . In one video The people open a barn door and they flood out the door like a wall of water. My uncle and aunty had a small plague on their farm and my poor aunty went to go to bed and there was dozens of the little mongrels under the sheets. I'd rather deal with a brown snake.
That just looks like WAY too much fun!😄
Sure was mate. 👌
Really?
Really what?
Rats do better somersaults than Nathan's rabbits. They must be even more excited to be in your videos.
I can't help it if they have good taste. 😂
The last dance.
He had the moves. 🤦♂️
Great shooting. That was actually quite therapeutic to watch lol
Definitely one of my favourite types of pest control 👌
Imagine just for a second please that an advanced alien race came to earth and decided that humans was a pest just like we do rats! Your dad/mum your children
I can imagine that I'm not going to waste my time worrying about Aliens Mick. I've got more rats to shoot. 🤦♂️
It is 😀
@@RJMHuntingAustralia 🤣
Great post as alway mate. Good intro to the kit and great to see the rats getting nailed 🐀!!!
Much appreciated Jim 👊
Great shooting Mate, there certainly wasn’t any lack of targets. The clarity of your NV scope was amazing. Lots of good shooting to you from California.
Thankyou Sir.
The gear available to us now is pretty awesome and I love what I do.
I have just found your channel and what a start to viewing it! That is certainly a rat infestation the bloke has there. The scope is a real beauty and your shooting really let it show it to advantage.
Thanks for checking out the channel mate. Appreciate it. 👊
Love that scope its on my wish "dream" list. Ballistic calculations would come in handy on the longer shots with pellets. Collecting all of them after the shoot must be a drag.
The ballistics are awesome especially for the air rifle. Collection is all part of the job, at least we didn't have far to walk. 🤔
I woke up at 4 o'clock in the morning and found this video. excellent shooting.I could watch this all day. very relaxing🐀
Thanks for that mate 👍
Fantastic shooting great to see how far you can shoot with that set up.
Great work thanks for sharing Cheers
Much appreciated Barry 👊
Great work mate. Fun tool for sure that combo. And great work done for the farmer too.
Thanks John 👊
Your range-finding skills, and the subsequent shooting, were exceptional!! New sub, right here.
Welcome mate. Much appreciated 👊
Always very satisfying to watch Rod. You're a good shot! Well done. 💪
Thanks Josh. No shortage of targets and trigger time. 😅
Your rat hunting videos are the most satisfying videos I have ever watched 😊
Thanks champion 👊
Great shooting
Thanks taking the time to make the video and share it.
My pleasure mate. Thanks for watching
Just found your channel...very professional. Great shooting and commentary.
Thanks Graham. 👍
I wonder if they stop and look when u say: G'day? 🤔
🤣😂🤣 G'day mate 🎯💯🔥👍🏻✌🏻
Little buggers don't stop for anything accept a pellet. 😂
Keep up the good work sir. Love your channel always entertaining.
Appreciate that mate. 👊
Love the video keep up the good work
I've reasnetly got some thermal my self and loving it
That's awesome, it's definitely a game changer mate 👍
That’s gotta be the most fun you can have with your pants still on 😂
Used that in my last rat video. Sooo bloody true. 🤣
Amazing video just saw your channel, subscribed way too much fun for one person 😊
Appreciate that mate. Thanks. 👊
Wow!! Rat infestation indeed! You could shoot for weeks at that chicken farm. Fine shooting Rod and I really like that rig you have. Very nice. Stay well Sir, God Bless and thanks for sharing.
Much appreciated buddy. 👊
Excellent shooting skills mate
Great video thankyou for sharing it
My pleasure Simon 👊
I appreciate the fact that you put the rats out of their misery rather than letting them flop around. There is certainly no shortage of them.
If they're brain shot they'll still wiggle about mate. If they are hit elsewhere then obviously they receive a follow up shot as soon as possible
Great choice of firearm for that situation. Dialed in nicely👌
Thanks Robbo. Extremely happy with it mate
That pard with the ballistic calculations looks awesome 👌
Took a bit of tweaking to get the ballistic calculator sorted but it's on the money now it is dialed in. 👌
Plenty of rats there for sure, nice work Rod 💪
Cheers Nathan. Next best thing to shooting pigs I reckon. 👍
Excellent Rodney, you can't beat a good ratting session 😎
Spot on mate 👌
@@RJMHuntingAustralia oh I was out this week, on the foxes, just spotting for a gamekeeper, and I had the chance to use the (Gday mate) and it works a treat 🤣🤣
🤣👍 love it. Video it for me next time. 👌
This is sooooo satisfying! I never thought that a video about shooting rats can
be so good! 💯💯💯
Much appreciated mate 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed watching that. I found it highly amusing when they popped their heads out like Whack a Mole but with Rats and an Air Rifle :) I went with a FX Crown in .25cal. Love the Hades pellets.
Thank you.
A lot of people say the Hades are over rated but I love em too mate 👊
Absolutely brilliant, thanks for the great video, cheers
My pleasure mate. 👌
And another ones gone, another ones gone, another one bites the dust. It's called Rata2e mate. Bloody hell over 300? Now that's a few hours well spent Rodney.
😅
Great work as always, keep it up.
Appreciate it Darren 👌
That's crazy so many rats, we hear of mice infestations, but l didn't realise rats get this bad anywhere, keep dropping them mate, loved it.
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it Stuart 👊
Man that mouse EXPLODED! LOL! Well done!
Cheers mate 👊
Great fun, some nice shots there..
Thanks mate 👍
That is one mean piece of machinery! Nice shooting.
Very happy with it mate.
Thanks 👊
Oh boy, that looks like so much fun! I'm tentatively looking at learning to shoot, air rifles and rats seems like a good way to get my feet wet and my hands dirty.
Trigger time and practice on paper is great for getting to know your rifle. Learning it's capabilities and improving yours along the way.
The rat shooting is awesome for transitioning from paper to live targets.
That's carpenter bee with 22 rat shot kind of fun right there.
Yep 👌
awesome effort there Rod, made my skin crawl to think that if you were camping nearby , imagine those filthy rats crawly and gnawing all over you, uuggghhh. great shooting mate. 👍👍😎
I'm not a fan of the dirty little buggers either mate.
The ones up in the eves were flopping like dries... er dropping like flies. Good shooting!
That's the plan mate.
Thanks. 👌
I’m lovin this!!
Thanks mate 👊
That looks incredibly fun. Sweet rig
It is.
Thanks mate 👊
You could say that's a target rich environment
Absolutely. No shortage of them. Can't wait till the next visit
Geez, good shooting fellas! I like how quiet your gun is! A good rat is a dead rat!
Cheers mate. Super quiet yet still very accurate. Somewhat justifies the outlay. 👊
A dead rat carries no disease and contaminates no feed and water. They do have a purpose though, like cats and foxes they make excellent organic fertilizer.
Gd work mate,,,gd shooting,,a gd quick way of solving the problem,,
Thanks mate 👊
Nice shooting! Especially the longer shots👍 but jeeezusH what the heck kind of farmer let's his situation get that bad😳
Thanks mate.
Believe it or not they do bait regularly.
Wish I had one of those when I was shooting rats last year. I was using a 22lr with z Long's and open sights!
Still fun either way mate. Good gear is bloody expensive 🤦♂️
Great shooting
Looking forward to more
cheers 👌
Fantastic bit of shooting, LOTS of rats, and the farmer should be happy. I think the PARD gives a better sight picture than the Infiray, at least in this video. Cheers from Texas.
The video image out of the Pard is pretty impressive.
That scope is amazing.
It has some cool features and the compact size is awesome
Those Hades are the bollocks!
Great expansion on small critters at low speeds. 👌
unreal ! That scope is impressive.
Cheers mate 👊
Great shooting I could watch this for hours!
Appreciate that mate. Thanks 👊
Love your work.
Thanks
It would have been way more interesting to see how the rifle was set up.
Nice... straight to business not a whole lot of Yapping 😂
Little bit of yapping 😅
Excellent shooting and a most enjoyable video
Cheers mate 👍
This man is out here doing god's work.
Haha. Great way to spend a friday night. 👊
That's a great night, love rat shooting. The only pain is running out of pellets when you're on a run.
Exactly what happened.
3 loaded magazines didn't last long, quick run back to the vehicle to replenish. Fasted I have ever reloaded. 😅
That looks like fun!!!
👌
👍👍👍👍Good shooting!! Great video.
Thanks for that mate 👊
Excellent marksmanship. Out to 50 yards!
Thanks mate. 👊
Well done, great shooting.
Thanks 👌
That looks like so much fun that i would be welcoming rats into my spheres of existence
Thanks mate 👊
Nice work.
Always enjoy your videos.
👍🏻
Thanks mate. Appreciate the support 👌
How good was that! That third shot took the dance right out of that dancing bastard.
Thanks mate, he was a tough little bugger. 😅
That was Awesome. Gonna have to get rid of my Stoeger RX40. I need an FX.. ........
Bit of a steep learning curve getting them all tunes in. Awesome once you're past that hurdle though 👌
poetry in motion with that FX hahaha 😂
Thanks champion 👊
Good job. Certainly, a target rich environment.
Thanks Marty 👊
It's a great noise: ping!
I like how quiet your rig is!
Me too mate. Definitely an advantage when doing pest control 👌
Great shooting....fully satisfied..
Thanks mate. Appreciate that 👌
This video was the most fun I've had in weeks!
Lol. Thanks mate 👊
NEVER GETS OLD
Thanks mate 👊
Nice shootin Tex..............
Cheers buddy 👍
Love it buddy keep up the good work I used to shoot a pig farm with similar numbers of rats it was the hi light of my week shame it’s a busy industrial park with bait stations every few feet and after dark they are in evry bush bin and dark place but god forbid we be allowed to continue to control them after they close but that’s the uk for you nice job you did good on ya
Cheers mate. It great trigger time when there are high numbers. Not many places like this around here though. 👌
Love it.
Thanks 👊
Got AirPods the other day which has turned my life upside down. Can hear everything especially all the sounds of the guns especially he’s a big bastard lol great stuff Rodney 🤗
Stoked for you mate. Must make for much better viewing. 👊
Protecting Nathan’s KFC, truly a good friend Rodney, bless
🤣😂. The things we do for mates. 🤦♂️
Awesome vid Rodney. Would be great to see an in depth review of the PARD when you've got time - I'm interested in their thermals. Noticed your reticle is pretty well centered - did you have to do much shimming to get their? Cheers.
It's a bit off centre but not enough to worry about shimming it.
Will let you guys know what I think after I use it a bit more mate.
First time I've seen your channel. I've only seen you helping the other Aussie gent.
Subbed. I'll check you out too.
Appreciate that mate.
Thankyou
Pretty cool getting rid of disease carrying rodents. I have a couple tenants……well-you know. How many did you shoot that night? 300! Wow that’s great. Cool scope showing yardage
Very handy knowing the exact distance so you can compensate for pellet drop.
What a great shot you are....and I love the occasional "fark me".
Haha. I do try to be on my best behaviour 😅
Man but that's the tool for the job, isn't it? Hell of a bag for one session. I love ratting at night, great fun.
Absolutely.
Hell of a lot of fun and very effective mate 👌
Couldn't help but laugh at the dancing ones
Yeah I know right. Horribly funny. 🤦♂️😂
Raratattat next is the cat.
Geez air rifles have come a long way since I was a kid popping rats in our chook pen. One shot, pump, reload, next shot.
Question: do you need the same licence as required for firearms? Or is an air rifle licence seperate and specific for air rifles only? Thanks, always look forward to yours and Nathan's videos, true hunters who hunt for a purpose, not just for thrills. There's a few who could take some lessons from pro's like yourselves.
I used to use my old BSA243. Splitting rats.
Thanks mate. Same license required for an air rifle, in NSW anyway.
They're are definitely a lethal bit of gear and the 28 round rotary magazine is fantastic.
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Thanks Rod.
So satisfying to watch.
Thanks 👌
Great work from cyprus
Very cool. Thanks mate 👌
great job ....
Thanks
A slug gun, my wife reckons shed use a hand grenade.😂
She hates mice and rats.
Haha. My wife is pretty much the same mate 😅
I'd say, absolute CARNAGE!!!!! Maaaate.
🤣 plenty of carcasses to pick up. 🤦♂️
@@RJMHuntingAustralia yes, i'd reckon the cleanup would have taken awhile longer than the shoot. Cheers
Haha. Almost 😂
thats so cool well done
Cheers buddy 👊
This looks like fun
It is Tom. Good trigger time too. 👌
Bloody brilliant! Great little set up. Perfect for the job at hand. 300 less of the bastards is a good thing.
Thanks for that mate. They're definitely a handy piece of kit. 👊
Bro is a nemesis 💀
Good morning sir,
I watched your shoot and it's really cool! I would like to ask, among the two thermal imaging scopes you use, Pulsar Thermion2 Pro Lrf XP50 thermal scope and Pard SA62-45 thermal scope, which scope has the best image clarity for naked eye observation? And the best in terms of ease of use and stability? Thanks!
Really like the ballistic calculator and the small compact size of the Pard however the Thermion2 has a better all round image especially at distance.
They’ll save a bit on chook food now 👍 nice shooting.
Yeah, they were very happy with the outcome. A few more visits required though. 👊
