One of my favorite beers! Light, drinkable, refreshing, almost sweet, low bitterness in the finish, taste delicious with any type of food (not only with italian food)
Happy New Year! I don't think I have ever worn a bow tie, classing up the place. Glad I found your reviews this year, very fun and always informative. I had this beer in August and enjoyed it. It is smooth, I had it in Colorado at a wonderful cookout. It is a lager that is on my radar. Glad the haters do not like it, more for us. Cheers.
Great review Ronald! First time trying Peroni's. Italians, like the French, know great food and great drinks. With a uniquely Italian spin (unique aroma; unique flavor), this is a great lager. This would be most excellent with anything, but especially Italian food. Alla nostra salute (to our health)!
Enjoyed this review. I can sort of see why some hardcore beer fans would say Peroni's lack of flavour makes it a bad beer. But there are times when an extremely pleasantly inoffensive lager is what's needed (which is what Peroni is - and which is what so many other lagers aren't!)
Peroni is definitely at the top end of the mainstream lagers before you're into 'craft' territory. It is very crisp and refreshing, and I find it balances flavour with lightness pretty well. Some of the craft lagers seem a bit too fussy and complex to be refreshing. For a quality pilsner style beer on a sunny day, you can't do better than Peroni :)
I completely agree with your opinion, I'm always buying cases of peroni and it never gets old. This and st pauli girl are the sweet refreshing and clean tasting lagers I go for.
I am drinking a Peroni. It is a fine beer. I am curious. How would you compare Peroni with Stella Artois? Would you be able to tell them apart in a taste challenge?
I really love the smell and body on this beer. Strangely it reminds me of Colt 45. I'm thinking that must be because of the corn. However the flavor is more reminiscent of a typical European lager which I don't really love. I think it's the European hops that I'm not too fond of. The only standard European lager I really loved was Beck's. I definitely wasn't expecting this beer to make me want a Colt 45 when I bought it.
One of my fav import beers actually just got myself a 6 pack. You should try and do a rewiew on steam whistle it’s a local beer here in Toronto Canada if you can get your hands on that stuff really good stuff
had numerous times on tap over bottle but when had bottle i have had it with proper italian pizza or pasta and it has that refined taste that goes well with said foods
I think this might be slightly better than Stella Artois, but I would have to do a blind taste test, to be sure. Thanks for watching, Dairy Peak! RL. I appreciate it!
This is a great beer. I completely agree - this has to be one of the most drinkable beers I’ve ever tasted. I can’t see getting tired of it. I wish the price was a little better though
I just drank some of these after deciding to pick up a 6 pack to try. Definitely a great tasting and enjoyable beer. A lot of the critics probably got bad/skunked bottles
Enjoyed the review. Thanks! 139 calories / 10.6g carbs I like this light easy drinking beer with a decent ABV of 5.1% 6-pack occasionally goes on sale $5 safeway
Great review. I'm trying this for the first time today and couldn't agree more with your assessment. I've been a bit hesitant to try it since it's a bit on the expensive side for a beer of its kind, but this is an excellent beer. The breadiness is there and the bitterness is there as you said, it's not a strong compared to an IPA but compared to other southern European lager beers it's got a very nice bite to it which balances the beer nicely. Also I find that it is drier than some other southern European adjunct lagers which I personally enjoy. Just an overall tasty, well made beer.
Ronald Theriot I agree. I think anyone who enjoys a well made pale lager beer would enjoy this beer. Then again, you have the beer reviewers on beeradvocate and ratebeer, but I know how you feel about those, and I am in agreement with you about them. There are no off-flavors to this beer what so ever, and it has a pleasant taste to it, so what's not to like I say, and I'm sure you agree. Keep up the good work.
Hey Ronald. I just want to thank you and all the under appreciated folks who work holidays. I hope it's at least somewhat less stressful than teaching.
For me, I prefer the Birra Moretti. We have just got back Italy where we stayed in Bologna but also visited Verona, Rimini and San Marino. Never saw Nastro Azzurro anywhere but a lot of Birra Moretti.
lovely lager mate one of the best, said this before not everybody likes the heavy rich real ales and I'm one of them much prefer my lagers to be honest
I really like it. I am not a beer taster, I am a simple guy. I usually drink Sapporo, asashi and corona. But if I can find this, I always buy this. Nice review, I totally agree with your opinion. Some times at the bar, when I said peroni, waitress would say Peroni????? As if she's surprised by it.
just tried this beer i liked it i seem to agree with you on most beers i don't care what most people think of a beer style each bee stands alone and should be judged that way
i have learned a lot about beers from your videos i do my reviews on instagram to many on youtube love the history of the beers makes you appreciate them more i always see if you have done a review before i do a over all search on youtube
Great review, Ron! I just drank one of these, and it was delicious. Nice outfit! And, I have a message for ya...Clemenza sleeps with the fishes! Cheers, jabroni...jk!
Nice Review Ron,and I am so with you on this one,if you do not like this Beer, then you just do not like "Lager" Beer, and how all the Beer snobs Love to slag Lagers in general, also I think there is something really Wrong with you if you do not enjoy an ice cold Lager Beer, and this one is nothing short of Awesome!Cheers my Friend:)
Love the review, love the beer! I think these websites get a little too arrogant. If they thought more about the actual taste and quality of the product and less about the price they'd be more accurate. Anyways, great review!
Finally bought it today, been looking at it when in store for some time now, but never associated Italians with beer, so always chickened out. Had to hear my american beer gurus opinion on the matter first of course, and now im excited to say the least. Have a pizza-slice too left in the freezer, the universe is on my side this evening i guess!
Maybe fault it for price but taste c'mon. I believe they just don't like the style so drink IPA's & Ales & stop drinking adjunct lagers just to bash on them. I don't like tomato juice but I like orange juice. So you know what I don;t drink tomato juice.
It's the Busch Light of Italy. Like €.90 for 500mL, perfect price for a good cheap macro beer.. In the US (and UK too apparently) it's sold as a premium beer for some reason.
I like peroni, buy it at Italian restaurants and occasionally for home as well - just downed 2 cans of it from a 6 pack in fact. Have the peroni cans made it your way yet? That said I think you are overrating this beer. While it's good, smooth, easy to drink and better than the American adjunct lagers - there are a million euro lagers that easily outclass this.Again I like peroni but your "run of the mill" Heineken drlivers better malt n hop flavor than this does and if you step up in class to the good (or great) German and Czech brews, forget about it. While I like peroni it's not in the class with the best Euro variants of the style, it just isn't so I can't give it an A. B will have to do.
Beer advocate states: anything not made by a bunch of hipster dudes with huge beards in their bath tab over using a heap of not matured hops to cover up their inability to breew beer......as POOR
One of my favorite beers! Light, drinkable, refreshing, almost sweet, low bitterness in the finish, taste delicious with any type of food (not only with italian food)

I just had a bottle of this beer and I absolutely agree, this is good stuff. Sweet, bready with a very discernible hoppiness to it. Love it!

I absolutely love Peroni. And yes it goes very well with Italian food. If you ever travel to Italy I recommend enjoying your meal with this.
+Mac McJof Yes, I would do that (or, with Birra Morretti). Thanks for watching, Mac McJof. I appreciate it!

+Fergus O'Mahoney It's delicious, Fergus O'Mahoney. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!

I 100% agree. Thanks for watching, tjf4375. I appreciate it!
I just back from Roma. Italy. This beer was better than regular Peroni, Moretti, etc.
That's neat, tomcaroscio! And, thanks for watching. I'd like to try some of the other Peroni variants.
That stuff is damn good! It was the first drink I had on my trip to Italy last summer. Great stuff.
It sure is great stuff! Thanks for watching, MegaBricktv. I appreciate it!
I completely agree with your opinion, I'm always buying cases of peroni and it never gets old. This and st pauli girl are the sweet refreshing and clean tasting lagers I go for.
I 100% agree, SF.
I am drinking a Peroni. It is a fine beer. I am curious. How would you compare Peroni with Stella Artois? Would you be able to tell them apart in a taste challenge?
I'm glad you like it, Jeffrey. Well, in my mind, I am thinking, "Yes, I could tell them apart." But, could I really do so, in a blind taste test?
There ya go! I do believe It is time for you to do a European lager blind taste challenge.
You could be right!
I really love the smell and body on this beer. Strangely it reminds me of Colt 45. I'm thinking that must be because of the corn. Right- I wouldn't expect someone to mention Colt 45, in relation to Peroni.
Great review (as always). This is without a doubt a really solid lager. Cheers and Happy New Year!
Thanks, and the same back to you!
Great beer review! I'm going to Europe next month and was looking for a beer to replace my usual bud light while out there I think I've found it!
Excellent! Thanks, and I appreciate you watching, Magnum Johnson!
Totally agree with your review, I normally lean to craft beers. But when i want a delicious lager.....peroni nails it! Good job, Ronald.
Thanks, BRIDON. Yes, it's a beauty, that Peroni Nastro Azzuro.
One of my fav import beers actually just got myself a 6 pack. You should try and do a rewiew on steam whistle it’s a local beer here in Toronto Canada if you can get your hands on that stuff really good stuff
I'd like to try that, but I doubt I'll ever see it. Thanks for watching, Kevin. I appreciate it!
I can see why it could get an average rap but its not so bad, classy review cheers for the New Year.
Thanks so much, microteche! I appreciate it!
had numerous times on tap over bottle but when had bottle i have had it with proper italian pizza or pasta and it has that refined taste that goes well with said foods
Interesting, GRAT. I've only ever had it straight.
well glad you enjoyed
I've drank a lot of beers at 62 years of age. This is a very good beer. In fact, Prefer it to most other beers.
I really enjoy it. Thanks for watching, Mack Lack. I appreciate it!
Pretty late to this video but I have a question. I am a big Stella fan and have been wanting to try other Euro lagers. How does this compare?
I think this might be slightly better than Stella Artois, but I would have to do a blind taste test, to be sure. Thanks for watching, Dairy Peak! RL. I appreciate it!
This is a great beer. I completely agree - this has to be one of the most drinkable beers I’ve ever tasted. I can’t see getting tired of it.
I wish the price was a little better though
No, I'd never grow weary of Peroni. Thanks for watching, Tim J. I appreciate it!
Solid review, Ronnie. How could the Romans get it wrong? There Romans, for Heaven sake! Shame on these other beer reviewers. They are clueless...
Oh, abc, there are lots of wonderful brewers out there.
I just drank some of these after deciding to pick up a 6 pack to try. Definitely a great tasting and enjoyable beer. A lot of the critics probably got bad/skunked bottles
Yes, but now with the canned ones, they can't argue that. Thanks for watching, Daniel L. I appreciate it!
I like your reviews. You know ur stuff. Keep it up 👍🏻
Thanks. I appreciate you watching, Richard Dolan. And, I will!
Enjoyed the review. Thanks! 139 calories / 10.6g carbs
I like this light easy drinking beer with a decent ABV of 5.1%
6-pack occasionally goes on sale $5 safeway
Thanks, and that's a great price! I appreciate you watching, DocTube!
This review left nothing on the field. I love to see/hear a reviewer go wild for a beer. Hooray! I will buy it, for sure.
Oh, thanks, Robbie Frantz. I hope you like it, and I appreciate you watching!
How would you compare Peroni Nastro Azzurro to Stella Artois? Of the two, which one do you like the best?
Well, Jeff. I would have to give the Nastro Azzuro the blue ribbon, in that contest.
Love the southern gentleman’s getup!
Thanks!

Nice review, I totally agree with your opinion.
Some times at the bar, when I said peroni, waitress would say Peroni????? As if she's surprised by it.
Yes, I have been to Italian restaurants who don't know what Peroni is. Thanks for watching, Heeyuan Ong. I appreciate it!
Love Peroni 🍺🇮🇹
Me, too! Thanks for watching, Marcello Via. I appreciate it!
Nice review...I love Peroni!

What is "light Italian food"? Everything but pasta?
Yeah, like some sort of white fish or clams, I suppose. Grilled, not fried.
Great review, Ron! I just drank one of these, and it was delicious. Nice outfit! And, I have a message for ya...Clemenza sleeps with the fishes! Cheers, jabroni...jk!

really nice euro lager. nice salty bready type of taste
I didn't notice any salty notes, on my end. But, I am a fan of the beer.
My favourite beer, Hell, And I am not Italian....
Clifford Campos Me neither, Clifford Campos! Thanks so much for watching!

Right, and you're not so insecure that you have to establish "street cred" by everyday ripping on lagers, especially the mass-produced ones.
It's not a bad beer I am enjoying it. But it can feel a bit watery in some gulps
Watery? Well, maybe. Thanks for watching, David Puente. I appreciate it!
@@ronaldtheriot maybe I mistaken watery for a clear taste. Pretty good beer, drank 5 and rocked my world.
Too malty imo but if you like it you should try San Antonio lager as it’s almost identical.
If I see that, I will try it. Good hearing from you, hazelenoch!
That would be nice with some smoked baby mussels on saltines, I betcha!
Yeah. Check it out!
I like Peroni
I think it's really good.
U know your beers
This beer is lovely however it's quite expensive it's like £8 for 6 330ml bottles
It's lower priced, here, but still not inexpensive. Thanks for watching, Nathgta09. I appreciate it!
It's the Busch Light of Italy. Like €.90 for 500mL, perfect price for a good cheap macro beer.. In the US (and UK too apparently) it's sold as a premium beer for some reason.

Yes, it's rather expensive, here, Thanks for watching, joe john. I appreciate it!
LOL We need too have a beer together...
That's probably true! Thanks for watching, James Maddeaux!

I'm drinking one right now and its skunky as hell!
Al3xTrucho20 That sounds quite believable, AI3xTrucho20. Thanks so much for watching!
Ok for a larger but to watered down for me then again I would have it over many largers available
daniel walsh Same, here.
It's a ok lager
Michael Sutherland Thanks for watching, Michael Sutherland. I really like Peroni Nastro Azzuro.
Nastro AzzurRo
You are right. Thanks for watching, dragoneroscuro. I appreciate it!
You are welcome :)
Call me a traditionalist
Yes, I think many people are turned off by the corn. While it doesn't bother me, I know some people can't stand it.
I like peroni, buy it at Italian restaurants and occasionally for home as well - just downed 2 cans of it from a 6 pack in fact. Well, I do tend to rate things too high, people tell me. I haven't seen any Peroni cans, here, nor any of the Peroni variants.
Heineken is a heavier beer than Peroni. Peroni would be more in the class of Stela Artios don't you think?
