Materially bigger than the Toyota Rav4 and no plug in for the hybrid which is great, too. Very well put together Honda as per expectations and this seems to be showing up in very impressive sales figures and even more impressive sales growth. Toyota continues to flood the market with anything and everything and is starting to look like General Motors of the 1980s. Subaru and Ford continue to surprise at somewhat entry level so how Rav4, CRV, Forester, Maverick and Tesla Model Y throw down for the rest of Calendar Year 2024 will be absolutely worth watching.

@@doolittlegeorge Yes. Ordered few days ago. I test drive Kia Sportage, Volvo XC60, VW Tiguan, Skoda Karoq. Honda was clear winner in almost every category. Only XC60 was but quieter on freeway speeds but it costs a lot more and has less extras- not worth it. Kia was bland only infotainment was more updated than Honda but car itself not even close. I dont know how Honda managed new CRV to achieve this level but its really good. I understand also why it costs more. It is better car and clever engine design especially in city.

For people who like to complain, Honda car is not for you if you want ultra luxury or super sporty. Honda is like jack of all trades master to none. It's giving you a good balance of everything, no gimmicky. If you like luxury and comfort, go with Hyundai/Kia, where most of the budget goes to that area. If you don't care much about driving dynamics and just want a little bit more comfortable, go with Toyota. Also, by design, the Honda's hybrid system is better than Toyota's because the engine mostly acts as a range extender for the big motor that drives the wheels. It's the closest to driving an EV you can get with no CVT whining, no engine stress. Toyota and Mazda are going to follow the same idea with their new engine, this proves how profound this hybrid system is to the industry

14:09 you can also set the reclining rear seats completely vertical to maximize trunk space without folding them down since they arent angled back into the cargo area. Its nice to be able to put larger items all the way to the back on one side while keeping the seat backs in place since we dont want to fold down and open our cargo to the cabin since the other side of my back seat has a carseat.

We had always been buyers of Chevy’s or Ford’s. But in 2022 we bought our first CRV. It wasn’t a hybrid. But we really liked how Honda’s rode compared to Chevy’s and Ford’s. We buy a new car every 3 years and decided to buy a 2025 CRV Hybrid Sport-L. I looked at KIA and Hyundai, but I don’t think they are of the same quality as HONDA. We are averaging about 43 MPG.

  • @Sally-bx9oq

Two weeks ago we traded our 2022 Subaru Outback Limited for a 2025 Honda CRV EX-L. We didn't like the ridiculously huge infotainment screen in the Subaru. The sedan-like seats in the Subaru made it challenging to get our grandchildren's carseats strapped in snugly. At 5'1", I prefer the seats in the CRV; I feel that I am sitting up higher and have better visibility. The CRV has larger windows, so that makes a difference, as well. The Subaru seemed to be well-built and we had no problems with it mechanically. When we bought the Subaru in late spring 2022, we had considered Honda and Toyota. As long-time Toyota fans, we felt that they have dropped the ball in the past few years, so Toyotas were out. We'd read about oil dilution issues with Hondas, so we shied away from them, too. Now that several years have passed and we have read more encouraging news regarding Honda's 1.5 turbo, we felt comfortable purchasing one. We likely will trade it in 4-5 years, close to my retirement from teaching. So we will see. Our CRV will get regular oil changes with synthetic oil, Lucas, warm-up and and cool-down time, premium gas, and no street racing in order to take care of the engine. In my opinion, the interior is beautiful. I love the honeycomb features on the dash and the knobs. It's old school enough for us and is a nice change from the tablet-size infotainment screen in the Subaru. The CRV has more space for storing items, a deep console, and a more simple design. We added Honda roof rails, cross bars, window vent shades, and a bug shield on the front. She looks AMAZING!

15:32 unsure of hybrid, but the gas ones allow you to lower the trunk floor by about 1.5 or 2 inches for extra space. But it is a recess that only is where the spare wheel cover is so it has a lip around the edge. Good for smaller stuff so its not rolling around as big of an area and also good if you need a tad more height. But the flat floor is better overall imo

Well seeing as how Honda can’t even make a back window fit on the HR-V that doesn’t carry a threat of shattering upon initiating the defrost, they should definitely stay away from implementing panoramic sunroofs. That’s for sure.
Real leather seats that aren’t ventilated are also a bad scenario in warmer climates. For the money this thing costs, it’s ridiculous that it lacks so much. Even if they aren’t important or valued features to some people, the price of the vehicle should reflect what it doesn’t have.

Love my 25 LX, but some of the deleted features make no sense to me, esp since the HR-V LX has some of them and is the cheaper/smaller model. The accent "L" shaped inboard tail lights dont illuminate on this trim only, even though the reverse lights are inboard and light up, so they saved like $10 per car in production, the steelies with hubcaps (even subaru does alloy standard on forester), even just doing 17 alloys instead of the 18s and 19s on higher trims would have been totally fine, it has push to start but not grab to unlock doors so you have to use the fob to unlock still (minor issue, i know),and no lights in the vanity mirrors (like, why? Saves like $2😂). If those few things were there, it would be perfect for a family car that doesn't cost a fortune. The EX is a better value since you get a LOT more, but the LX gets the same body, space (im 6'3" and 235lbs and my wife is 5'11" and we have plenty of headroom and i can fit the back seat behind my driver seat without my knees touching), and engine/suspension so it is still a great car imo. And i get better mpg than i was getting in my 09 civic and have awd and more power lol. My only gripe on the CR-V is the resolution on the backup cam is not great by todays standard. Seems like the same cam from like 2012. Doesnt bother me, personally, because i didnt have a cam before, but i know it bothers some buyers. Would have gone EX, but we had to buy a car a year earlier than planned so didnt have $100+ per month more 🙃

Hello, I dare a few observations, 5th generation 4th year. The fuel consumption is intended between the driver's head and his right legs with the use of recuperation paddles. I had the opportunity to ride for a while (2024) and I would summarize it in a few small notes. In today's heat ventilation of seats, it is not as intense as I would have imagined; I do not know whether the intensity can be set. Furthermore, I was amazed that the passengers could not adapt their seat as much as the driver. In 5. Ogeneration it was possible to set the armrest and often use it for longer routes. Damage. I did not find out what the sunroof is for when Honda has air conditioning. I would expect a greater suppression under the front wheels, the noise is somewhat larger. They could better adapt the compartment to recharge your mobile, as the cell phone runs in the corner. See how quite practically they created and entered the lower part of the car; On the back is already a hole that will suffer especially in winter (I mean part from the rear axle). Otherwise, I finally praise the practical rear safety belts that can be set as much as the front. I also praise the possibility to set the position of the rear seats. It is a pity that the rear passengers cannot separately adjust the positioning bench position. I still remembered the heated steering wheel, which is only on temperament and not of heating. Heating seems to understand that I could set the heating temperature as in the seats. I praise that someone has finally remembered that in the trunk people not only carry their suitcases on holiday, but for over a year they are made shopping, and in the masters that can at least be attached. The last observation is that it is not possible to regulate the air conditioning in the front. If the passenger does not want to play cold air on himself, he is simply unlucky. Either the driver is baked, or the passenger arrives "frozen" or with a barley grain. I think it could be different at the price of the car. It's just my observation, I know that other owners don't mind these things and don't solve them. For me, I will wait for the CR-V hybrid 7. generation, (year 2025-2026) what it will bring.

Wow! 41” of rear seat leg room is comparable to luxury size cars prior to downsizing in the 1970s when a Buick Electra was 225” long. 98s and Sedan DeVilles and Town Car sedans had 41” of rear seat legroom. It’s equivalent to front seat legroom. Quite an accomplishment in a compact SUV crossover.

My 2016 BMW x3 DOES have a trunk cover and appears to be about 2.3 DB less noisy. But when I drive with the trunk cover opened, my BMW interior noise is significantly louder.
When measuring an SUV noise levels, you should measure all cars with and without a trunk cover so that buyers can compare cars correctly. One problem with some cars is that a trunk cover is NOT available! So it’s impossible to compare vehicles without the relevant numbers.

While I certainly agree about Hyundai/Kia are all flash and are junk. Honda and Toyota are definitely not trying to add in simple yet easy features while asking for more money. That’s not good when you have $40k+ pricing and maintenance costs. It’s not going to wow you when you get cut backs on things priced similarly
The fact this thing doesn’t have a spare is a major issue. I think that’s nuts for any car though.

    • @vjmtz
      @vjmtz 7 месяцев назад +5

Editing as I think I was too harsh. Sorry. But the deal is, this is a Honda CR-V….not a Ferrari. A spare tire isn’t just a great emergency necessity, but one that costs them nothing to add let alone doesn’t even remotely impact MPG or weight.
A spare donut tire is at most 60lbs tops. Not even. You’re spending 40k on a cSUV without a simple, cheap, rational item that is now considered a luxury by them. Not only that, there isn’t even a place to put a spare even if you wanted to buy one yourself. It’s why you see posts of people online strapping a tire to their roof or having one scruff up and take space in their cargo space.
It shouldn’t be a requirement to have AAA, another expense in order to have peace of mind on an expensive purchase. I can easily swap a tire out in 10 mins and be on the road while a person waits 1hr or more on a AAA person to do it for them at cost. Honda not even allowing you the space for such storage is just bad design in my opinion. Fine, don’t give me a spare on the 40k car you allowed me to spend on plus interest, but don’t disallow me the luxury of being able to store one conveniently is ridiculous.

@@vjmtz I'm not bothered by your wording. You have your view and I have mine. In an era of global warming literally getting out of control, if not having a spare tire means more room to shift to battery tech and ultimately EVs for everyone, I will argue in favor of that ad infinitum.
