I come back to this video every few years because it is just. so. incredible.
Addi Forras me toooooo
S A M E
I guess that makes me 4, because I like listening to it over and over.
Me toooo! Just love this song!
Addi Forras literally same!! Always come back!
My favorite part is the part where it says "If I'm wise than I would walk away and gladly, but sadly I'm not wise." So true its so sad.
Me too
Men duet: “Lily’s Eyes”
Women duet: “In His Eyes”
Man, eyes are quite the powerful duet tool haha
Thank you Frank Wildhorn and Lucy Simon
I wish more people sang this duet style on singing app Smule
@@BlueBirdBaby hope you like it ;-)

Well it makes sense, eyes do come in sets of two.
They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul
" Love is worth forgiving for, now I realize- Everything worth living for is there in his eyes" best line ever :)
comma placement.
Totally!
Coleen's performance conveys such an incredible amount of emotion, it's one I seriously can't stop watching no matter how many times I've seen this.
What I love about this rendition is that, while both women are singing their faces off, they both really seem to understand what they are singing about and aren't just thinking "do I sound pretty?" Well done ladies.
Agree, similar with I Still Believe in Miss Saigon (Andrea also played Ellen), the people who sing that song need to understand the song so what’s already heart breaking becomes even more so
You have one man to thank for this. THE HOFF had the foresight to dig into his own pocket and have this performance taped. It might have been for his own vanity, but he caught some PURE MAGIC in the process. I can't diss him for that.
I detest his performance, but, this was an otherwise STELLAR cast! The performances by the professional cast were remarkable to say the least. I fell in love with Coleen playing Lucy. Her acting and vocals were pure magic! This duet is pure gold! So, I will thank David for getting this recorded. I bought the DVD when it came out because I had seen the stage show live and wanted it on DVD. So, like you, I won't diss him for that.
He was the worst person to ever play this part. I felt bad for everyone that had to be in the show with him He cannot sing, and he cannot act. He just wandered around over reacting and looking pitiful. The only thing I can think of that they did this for a joke.
@@deborahbelcastro8139 and he clearly had no idea he would be as outshined as he was. These two women may not become huge theater stars but they will easily work for the rest of their lives. What career does the Hoff have now?
@@deborahbelcastro8139 Fact is celebrities put butts in seats, even third-rate celebrities like Hoff, that's the reasoning behind casting like this. All about the almighty dollar. It must have been a similar disaster when they brought in Melanie Griffith for 'Chicago'.
@@deborahbelcastro8139 he’s really bad, but I would argue Sebastian Bach’s performance singing wise was worse. He was also stunt casted and preformed on Broadway from my knowledge
I sit and watch the rain
And see my tears run down the window pane
I sit and watch the sky
And I can hear it breathe a sigh
I think of him, how we were
And when I think of him
Then I remember, remember
In his eyes I can see
Where my heart longs to be
In his eyes I see a gentle glow
And that's where I'll be safe, I know
Safe in his arms, close to his heart
But I don't know quite where to start
Will I see beyond tomorrow?
Will I see beyond the sorrow, that I feel?
Will his eyes reveal to me promses or lies?
But he can't conceal from me
The love in his eyes
(His eyes) I know their every look
(His eyes) They're like an open book
(His eyes) But most of all the look that hypnotizes
If I'm wise I will walk away, and gladly
But sadly I'm not wise
It's hard to tuck away the memories that you prize.
Love is worth forgiving for
Now I realize
Everything worth living for is there in his eyes.
Love is worth forgiving for
Now I realize
Everything worth living for
Is there in his eyes.
This is definitely my favorite version of this song!! Andrea and Coleen played Emma and Lucy so perfectly!! They sound incredible together! 😍😍❤️
Gianna Myer yeah. So powerful
Colleen needs to play more big parts, cast her in the Pretty Woman Tour
What a beautiful song sung by two lovely ladies. Wish they would bring back Jekyll and Hyde in theatres again.
I come back year after year to this rendition and it never fails to give me chills
Fabulous, simply fabulous. Andrea and Coleen are both PERFECT for these roles. This is my favorite rendition of this song. Coleen has such an amazing, unique, voice for Lucy and I absolutely adore it. Andrea hits those high notes so effortlessly. It's beautiful, I love her as Emma. Both of these extremely talented women blow me away. I love this song so much! :)
All verklempt over here.... goosebumps..... Just like the very first time I heard Andrea Rivette sing. We were doing a production at the Lake Worth Playhouse in Lake Worth, Florida. I heard that voice in the chorus and said "You need to go to New York". "That's what my Daddy says" Andrea replied. "Pay attention to your father" I said. She did and what a wonnnnnderful thing.
EMMA:
I sit and watch the rain,
And see my tears run down the windowpane...

wow for real? i am mesmerized by coleen's performance, i think she does an amazing performance in this! made me a huge fan.
Everytime I watch this a cry a little bit inside. This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard and these two girls are the most beautiful performers ever omg I'm gonna go cry okay bye
I listen to this ALL THE TIME. I use it as an example of what music theater is really about. There is so much talent and years of hard work displayed in this one video. The score and voice of Andrea Rivette are gorgeous!!!
Xoxo
This is my third favorite Jekyll & Hyde song! My first and second (can't decide!) is either A New Life or Someone Like You because I am obsessed with both of them! I also loved Colleen Sexton here she is absolutely phenomenal!
Andee Villapando I like this is the moment! hahah
Deirdre Khoo any song lucy sings does it for me. i love colleen as well as the original. both VERY different, yet both so amazing!

Alicia Allen agreed Lucy has the best songs, love Colleen and Linda
@@Alicia____Marie Worth saying twice!
I love "No One Knows Who I Am", "Good & Evil", "Bring on the Men"...Frank Wildhorn writes such great music!!
I've never been so drawn to a song before in my life.
The sheer power and expression in that Lucy belt at 2:52 sends shivers. Came back after performing this 10 years ago just for that moment. Chills.
This is one of the powerful and delicately balanced portrayals of this song I've ever heard. Brava!
This is my favorite performance of this song--especially Rivette. Fantastic voice, fantastic acting.
Wonderful vocal combination and textures. Great expressive singing. Powerful. Well done.
Was fortunate enough to see these two perform back in February 2000 when I saw the show in NYC. Jack Wagner played Jekyll/Hyde and I was very impressed by his performance. My mother was in seventh heaven being a huge fan since Wagner's his early days playing Frisco on General Hospital. I only knew him from Melrose Place at the time. lol Anyways, Colleen & Andrea just blew me away with their performance of this song. These two hugely talented ladies will always be my fav Emma & Lucy.
amazing. have watched this so many times and still get goosebumps. you can never get bored of or take pure talent for granted!
Still love this so many years later … have to be informed of a better version… just looove how they do this ❤️❤️❤️❤️ …
oh my gosh is stunning. their voices are so beautiful! thanks for posting.
I love this song so much
they have such outstanding chemistry!
Vocally and acting!

Call me old fashioned, but I was trained classically when I was in New York, and the original version Andrea and Colleen sings blows the newer versions out of the water.
I agree. Along with the Original Broadway Cast with Linda Eder and Christiane Noll, this is the best.
me personally, Im only 16 but I enjoy Old classic broadway infinitely better than hamilton or more pop style musicals. idk what about it. Its just got so much more feeling in the music.
this song is so ridiculously beautiful, i can honestly listen to it over and over again. amazing voices as well!
This song is just simply beautiful
Its beautiful. The performance are both riveting and tremendously soulful. This is one of few songs that I used to play over and over and over again just to hear the magnificence of the singing and the wistfulness of the tune. They're great examples for us to emulate in our own singing.
wow. now that's wonderful. Such terrific talents.
It is one of the most very beautiful songs I have ever heard, sung by oneof the most beautifu voices of alltime!
I love this song! It´s absolutely amazing! Both singers are amazing!
best version of this duet... hands down. these two women have it goin on... wonderfully done!
This makes me cry every time I listen to it; reminds me of why I love my boyfriend so very much, and that he'll always love me.
This song (the majority of it) is part of a medly we're playing in my band class... it's the most beautiful thing I've heard in a long time. Every time we get to a certain point, I just get chills.
Great duet! So powerful!
As far as female duets go this definitely up there with I Still Believe from Miss Saigon
Wow! I agree 100% ... I got to sing both!!
That was absolutely beautiful.
My very favourite show. I played Emma opposite my incredibly talented friend a few years ago, a beautiful score ❤️
Best song. Best performance. Lucys voice is just so beaitiful i often get emotional listening to her sing. Lord i love her
I love Coleen Sexton so much. They're both fantastic.
So beautiful
Beautiful Song. Beautiful Show. Beautiful Performance.
Chills every time... :)
this gets me every time. so amazing
I'd kill for either of their voices, they are both so amazing!
definitely the most amazing song ever!
I saw this pair do this as a duet musical at states for thespians and they got bet in show it was amazing
omigod...this song is so gorgeous
This is my favorite song out of this production!
I always sing the soprano 1 part.

Anything with Lucy is my favorite part- but the overlapping His Eyes 🥹
unbelievably amazing
This is so beautiful! I almost can't believe this exists! How lucky I am to have seen this.
This is incredible
Amazing!!
beyond fablous. snatched my wig
This is such a beautiful, powerful song.
wow that was absolutely stunning
One of so many amazing songs in one musical
We need more Jekyll & Hyde the musical Love
One of my fave shows, seen it twice. Cant understand why it got the spanking it did from the critics but they were proved wrong. Audiances LOVE this show.
simply beautiful!!! just as on the cd...
Both of these women! Ugh! I can't even.
i can't belieeeve how perfect this is :(
THIS IS AMAZING.
In love with this song
i absolutely love this song good choice thanks for sharing :)
Amazing voices!!
PERFECTION! this was amazing! wow
I love this song I sing it all the time
this was a phenomenal presentation of this song.. the two voices really compliment one another with the alternating between the two. the timbre, tone, & technique. i can watch this video a thousand times & my love only grows for it. i got so teary eyed at such a masterpiece. i would love to sing this song one day! brilliant. ^_^
Andrea Rivette is a goddess with her voice.
OMG! That was BRILLIANT!!!!
i love this song :') me and my friend did it at school, and then covered it on afterwards on here :) these 2 are amazing - i wanna be even half as good as them one day!! ;)
Beautiful
This was stuck in my head for months
I feel so in love with this song. It's when Lucy and Emma sing about thier feelings for Jekyll, the man both of the girls love. So sad that Lucy and Jekyll die at the end of the show. :(
What if they (Jekyll and Lucy) reunited in the afterlife?
this is amazing
This is amazing!
They make it look so effortless WOW
i knoooow!!! it sounds so effortless!!! it's just amazing!
I like the way Andrea BELTS that last note, yeah girl!! ooh.
BRAVO!!!!
Umm the high note is at 3:44 And it's Emma. She rocks it. Amazing.
Emma is singing the high note in head voice which makes it much easier to sing the note. Lucy sings the lower note in chest voice which makes it harder but usually louder.
@@lucykannon3071 everybody thinks head voice is harder. God's sake, there isn't a difficulty to sing with head voice. They are watching TV shows and then these wrong infos are coming...
@@lucykannon3071 It's actually a mix (head and chest). And it's actually a lot trickier to nail like this. Andrea Rivette's placement is dead-on here.
@@lucykannon3071 Emma is singing the F5 in mixed voice, but switches to head at the end. You can tell the difference between her chest and head voice in earlier notes
Coleen would make a phenomenal fantine
Andrea's last note is so beautiful
Amazing....
Totally Amazing...
AMAZING! They're amazing singers. :) Knocked it right out of the park. I wish I could sing the song like that. :)
Stun....ning...
it doesn't get much better than that!
The one with the light brown hair, is amazing. She sings so effortlessly.
unbelievable
Singing this for the homecoming assembly tomorrow. My school is gonna LUV me omg
Hey, did they like it?
Phenomenal!
I like this very much
It's like a straight up belting match!
Travis, that was totally the violin. :) Great performance, probably one of my favorite songs in the whole musical.
