My first pressure-fermented lager is now in the keg, carbing up and ready for serving in a few days.
Diamond Lager yeast, fermented at 21°C for five days at 15 psi. It tastes sensational.
Absolutely fantastic video Rich. Really good watch!
Cheers mate
The lids will fit my ‘other’ fermenters, genius idea
Sir I have a cunning plan…🤣
What is the advantage of this over a fermzilla, which is quite a bit cheaper? Have to disagree about the comment of opening the lid for the dry hopping. Without question, there will be oxygen ingress so it defeats the point of pressure fermenting.
Prices are fairly similar (here anyway) when you factor in the additional purchases required to make the all rounder ready for pressure fermentation. Could be argued that the snub nose is actually better value when you consider stainless fittings, filter and thermowell which are all included. I hear what you are saying regarding the opening of the FV for dry hopping but preventing o2 ingress isn’t the only goal of pressure fermentation so I wouldn’t say it completely defeats the point of it, for what its worth I have dry hopped dozens of beers in my all rounders by just popping the lid and then flushing the headspace with co2 afterwards and have not had any issues with this causing oxidation
