  • Are you looking for the best way to transfer your beer from a pressure fermenter to a keg or secondary pressure fermenter? Pressure fermenting offers many great benefits such as preventing aroma loss, faster ferments, and minimising oxidation. But when it’s time to keg your beer, it can be a little daunting if you’ve never done it before.
In this video, we’ll show you two easy methods that you can use to transfer from a pressure fermenter into a keg, avoiding foaming and oxidation in both methods. The second method is a “closed loop” technique that is great if you’re trying to conserve CO2 gas.
All the equipment shown in the video is available from Keg King or Keg King distributors. Visit their www.kegking.com.au to find out more.

For a 19L beer keg, do you need to add the sanitizer up to the rim as well (1st method) ? Seems like a lot!

@6:50 how about the air in the beer to beer jumper cable - did you purge this first by attaching on the keg of co2 ?

Skip to 5:19 and I explain how the keg is purged and pressurised during fermentation with that Gas to Gas line. Remember, gas disconnects fit on liquid posts so you go out of the pressure fermenter's gas post to the clean, sanitised keg's liquid post to harvest the fermentation's gas and put the spunding valve on the keg's gas post to hold the desired pressure during fermentation. When you're done fermenting, the gas is left in the grey-gas to grey-gas line. No air in it before transferring. Easy.

At 3:40 should you not have released some pressure from the keg to avoid that blow back hence disturbing all the yeast that had settled to the bottom after cold crash..

Technically, yes, but it's a floating dip tube in the fermenter. Yeast stays at the bottom, Tube gets a burst of gas to clear it from yeast that may have settled from fermentation and doesn't disturb the bottom because it floats.

6.5 litre keg.... that sounds interesting. !0 litre fermenter straight to little keg, same footprint for fitting in kegerator, opens up options for small batch and existing serving equipment. I have the 10 litre king-keg but with the larger footprint it doesn't go neatly into my 8 tap fridge. I must investigate...

Little 6.5 is pretty handy for small get togethers with a few friends. This way you don't have to show up with a whole 19 litre keg looking like you're ready to party.
It's still a good amount of beverage to have on hand, better than a growler that is usually flat and gone within a few glasses, PLUS it fits on the countertop/tabletop for easy access.

@@Keg-King plus it's much easier to put into the fridge or say, bucket with ice if you have barbecue
